Then press D to on/off alarm/chime function. If the alarm/chime symbol appear means alarm /chime function is on otherwise means off **Q: Is it only in military time?** A: You can set it to 12 hour mode in the time setting mode. When you adjust the hour at first there is an "h" symbol at the bottom. Keep changing the hour till the "h" changes to "a" or "p", to denote am or pm.
