Weatherproof Outdoor Cat House with Large Balcony, 2-Story Feral Shelter

Great looking cat house, although some of the wood had some slight flaws, but no big deal. I purchased it for a feral cat that we have been feeding outside. My husband and I inventoried all the screws, panels and doors, which I highly recommend everyone do before they attempt to put it together, just in case. The wood is soft but also durable making it easy to insert the screws. My husband used a rachet screwdriver and a cordless drill. Important: Once we got to the outer wall parts of the instructions, we installed the center piece and then the two sides first to help it stand up, which made installing the other wall pieces and flooring a lot easier. (Loosely drill in those pieces until all the other wall pieces are assembled) It then stood looking like an H from the front. Once installed, we tightened the screws all the way around. The only screw holes that were missing were the ones to install the opening and closing bracket for the large roof. We opted not to install the bracket because my husband thought the bracket arm mechanism might come down and somehow crack the wood. It works just fine without it. We did not install the flaps on the doors. We think the cat will quickly adapt to house without those. After the inventory was done, it took us about one hour and 10 minutes to get it all together. All parts were labeled with a marker or stamped with a number either on the sides or the back of each part. Illustrations were easy to understand and directions were clear. We also printed a picture for reference. We plan on putting some flex seal around it to make sure water cannot get in. We are hoping the cat will stay dry when it rains, and have placed under the eaves. We will not be putting his food in the cat house because we do not want to attract predators. We feed him on a near by bench, and immediately remove the uneaten food. I think the cat house is a good deal for the money. We did order a self cooling and heating pad for the inside of it. When winter arrives, I will pack it with straw or a thick blanket. We purchased this cat house (the 2-story balcony option with the patio) because the cat doors are big! Our big feral cat weighs about 15+ pounds and he should fit just fine. He will also fit on the shady patio- a huge plus! More importantly, it has more than one escape door! I will update this review in about 45 days. I am hoping he actually uses the cat house...we shall see.

I put together the kitty condo for our outside kitties. The item is all wood and painted, the roof looks like it has some tar applied to it to hold the crushed gravel. The plastic doors (they are cut into 4 sections and attached to a piece of wood then you use 2 screws with knows on one end to attach the door to the doorway. The screw on 2 of the know screws started to pull the nut out so I'm going to cut the screw down and see if that helps. I put a heat reflective blanket in the bottom section and a small bed in the top section. I have it up against the house so it's protected from the rain and right next to the porch so it's close to the food. The instructions were clear and easy to understand and the o ly problems I had were the 2 screws with know ends for the doors. The bottom of the structure is what they call the tray. The instructions say I rakes about 30 to 60 minutes to put it together with 2 people...it took me a couple hours by myself (I have bad back issues), but I did it myself and it looks good and secure! It has an escape door on the left side that swings both directions and comes already installed. I think it is worth the money and your kitties will enjoy it. ;)

This cat house is amazing. It's a lot bigger inside than I thought. It will benefit some homeless cats and will keep them safe and dry. Thank you for building such an awesome place for felines. Easy to put together also.

Purchased this for an outdoor cat that has adopted us so hopefully he will use it. it will be on a semi-protected porch so it should do OK and adding a heat pad for those cool nights should keep him happy. ASSEMBLY: It took me just over an hour, with about five minutes assistance from my wife, to assmble the house using a cordless drill, #2 Phillips, and a small rubber mallet (for the guide pegs). The instructions were clear, parts were all labeled, and no missing hardware. Guide holes were drilled to start all the screws but I did drill small pilot holes to avoid any splitting in the joining parts. The wood was soft enough I don't think it was absolutely necessary but I preferred it. I did have to drill two new holes because the original holes were in wrong/bad locations. Because of a slight warp in the roof supports one of the roof holes was right at the edge of the support and wouldn't work. The other was one side panel hole that would have made to screws intersect so I moved it. MATERIALS: The wood panels are thin and the other wood is soft (Fir/pine) but about what I expected from other reviews and the cost. Fit has a few more small gaps than I would prefer but for my use it is not a problem. If this was completely exposed to the weather and you have much wind/rain I would consider either a covered location or some caulk. In really windy areas I would consider adding some weight. OPINION: Using this in a covered location, I expect to get 5-10 years out of it barring someone falling on it or the cats using it as a scratching post to excess. Cost/time for the house vs DIY was worth it for me but your milage may vary.

My kitties love a place to be safe, warm and dry! Easy to out together! Nice quality! Held up thru the winter and now we are working in the summer months. Keep them dry from the rain!

It took a while to put it together because it had so many parts, but it wasn’t hard to assemble. The house is large, attractive, sturdy and well made. I like it, but I’m still waiting to see how the feral cats like it.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I ordered this. I read a few reviews and jumped right in. I told my husband I thought we could build a cat house cheaper than what we could buy one for. I still think I’m right! So we live in the NW corner of the US. Snow, rain, hot sun, and this cathouse is PRIMERED only. Great roof right, but the walls will not last where I live unless we PAINT IT. So we’ve begun the process of painting. Outdoor paint!! We have two missing doors. So we can’t put it together!! I didn’t realize this until it was painted and ready to go! Hahaha my husband took everything out of the box and didn’t notice that it’s missing doors! I haven’t heard back from anyone but I also haven’t checked on it either. I’m will keep y’all updated on the progress of this cat house but… if you get inclement weather I would protect the walls. It is cute! Ok so I just checked back with this company and they don’t have the two little doors that I NEED to put it together so.. we’re gonna cut our own so we can finish this house but…. The seller did offer me a $35 refund and that doesn’t cover the shipping that I paid. They need to do better than that. I’ll keep you posted on this also. If you can’t build this house and you take it out of the box how do you send it back?? 🤣 and get a FULL REFUND? Oh and it’s painted too! Too good to be true 👎🏻👍🏻 We shall see! Jan 2026…. I found the doors!! It was the clear doors that were missing that the cats go through. I’m not gonna change my stars though. It’s not worth 5 stars in my opinion. Not for where I live. The wild cats use it for their food and water but they DO NOT hang out in this house. Unless you insulate it it is FREEZING! Has leaky sides but i will say it has a great roof but it does get very ICY and my kitties love to play on it. WILD KITTIES. HA They won’t let me touch them.

Great house. Power Drill would have helped a lot. But did it all by hand. Instructions were good. My only gripe was the promotional picture with that little orange kitty on the roof. Here's my cat, Snow Kitty, on the roof. She's Turkish Angora ish... Longer body but otherwise normal.
