Excellent InkTec fixture, no drilling, no leaks and nice instructions
The fixture InkTech uses to hold and refill the cartridge was excellent. One for each color and each fixture color coded! No mess - I had cartridges refilled at Costco they drilled a hole on top - they should use this method. The instructions were clear and concise. I used to refill years ago and gave up because of the drilling and mess - the fixture refills from bottom with an excellent seal that prevents leakage. My kit was sold by Printronics - thanks. I just finished refilling 9 (nine) cartridges in less than 30 minutes and only three fingers have ink spots.

color ink easy to refill but not for high quality photo printing
Wanted to be more green and save some money by trying out ink refill kits. The youtube video and the instructions were easy enough to follow and no needle is required for refilling the HP 6500 printer cartridges. I was able to print about 30 to 35 average quality color 3.5x5 photos with 2 rounds of color refills. After that, the cartridges began failing - creating lines in the images no matter how many times I cleaned the print heads. Any further attempts to refill the ink in the same cartridge would be a waste of ink, money and time.I've read that ink cartridges are meant to fail after one or two refills; black ink refills yield better results because it's just black and not colors, shades and such. This ink refill kit was fine for printing out simple, single color logos for letterhead stationery.I'll be buying a new OEM set of color cartridges and use the leftover InkTec colors for refilling them when I've used up the originals. Just a caveat that any refill method (including re-manufactured cartridges) will not make them like the original .. less ink pages per cartridge and lower color quality. However, I think the savings may be worth it if I just refill the used up cartridges only one time - at least I'd get to use OEM cartridges twice before disposing of them. One other note: there was an odor with this InkTec brand refill ink. Not terrible but wanted to mention that.Still, I'd give 3.5 stars because it's the manufacturer's fault for not offering greener options and more reasonable pricing for their replacement ink, and Inktec kits can be a workable alternative if you're not expecting high-end photo prints.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
This product does not work. Read the fine print, the company will not refund your money because most consumers do not install the product properly, this is a statement from a rep for the company. I will admit this is my fault for trying to go cheap, the ink is like water. The Rep. also, told me she does not care if I write a bad reveiw, but if you do not believe me try it yourself and if someone gives this a decent reveiw be concerned.

As somewhat advertized
I got the ink and boy what a nightmare to refill with this kit. They bleed out of the area when refilling and they do not refill all the way only about 30 percent.

A cost effective solution
I was a little hesitant to order an ink refill kit for my Office Jet 6500 wireless, especially considering one of the first few links that came up were from HP spouting on about how often refills fail. I recently got into printing coupons (not the extreme type, but just some for my family of 5) and started going through ink like crazy. After reading the reviews, I was a little surprised at how extreme the reviews were ranging from "This is fantastic!" to "Don't waste your money!" I figured the worst case scenario is I'd be out the cost of the refill kits which was still less than replacing all 4 cartridges (Black, Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta). After reading the reviews, I was sure to make sure the ink syringe was tightly connected to the refill base which holds the cartridge. I did this by pressing on the EDGES of the bottom of the ink syringe (the center is where you push to inject the ink). I also made sure the rubber stopper was securely in the refill base before I inserted the cartridge. I slowly pushed the syringe and injected the proper amount of dye (3 mls for each color, 6 mls for black). I think some of the confusion may lie in how to read how much ink to inject. I noticed not all of the ink dyes started at the same point in the syringes (they were very close, but being off by a ml could make a mess...).I did not need to wear gloves; I had no spills. When removing the ink syringe from the refill base, I did it over a paper towel and used that paper towel to wipe off the ink reservoir on the cartridge. I installed the cartridges and did a test print. The first one did not come out; I simply did a "clean print cartridge" function on the computer, and reinserted the cartridges. The quality was great! I can't comment on the print quality for pictures since I haven't used them for that purpose, but for coupons, school handouts/homework, etc., I think it's a money saver!. Used them before, it works if you outwit HP
The refill process and tools are simple and effective. The main problem is HP who programs their cartridges to quit working after a certain amount of copies not ink level. You must persevere, unplugging the printer, plugging it back in, cleaning cartridge carriage and when it allows you to access the menu, go to setup, tools, clean printer heads and it should work. The HP printer, mine is a 6500 Officejet, will admonish you to turn it on and off with the button, not by unplugging, but it won't reset using the on/off button but eventually will if you unplug the power cord, wait a little while and plug it back in.The first InkTec refill kit I bought sat in a drawer for months after I couldn't get it to work on my HP but one day I decided to persevere until it worked. I had to buy one new cartridge that time but used up the entire ink refill kit without having to buy any more cartridges. So the product works great and is a good buy but you had better be ready to outwit the printer companies who sell cheap printers with unnecessarily expensive cartridges programmed to die after so many copies are printed regardless of ink levels.
