I want to make sure these are "upper" ball joints. and that they will fit a 2004' dodge ram 3500 2wd 5.9 cummins diesel?

I have a 2006 2500 4wd and they were the upper ball joint for my vehicle. I am more than pleased with them. My suggestion would be if you have one that needs to be replaced than replace them all. As far as fitment on your vehicle put in your vehicle info and it will come up green and say that it fits your vehicle or red if it does not. Hopen this helps

Can these be applied where the ones with spines were previously installed?

Yes the Moog K7460 can be installed in-place of another aftermarket ball joint that had a knurled housing. The technician will have to verify there is sufficient press fit. If there is insufficient press fit Moog offers another ball joint that has a larger press diameter for this application. Thank you

what adapter did you use to press it out? can you tell me what one. or do you use a pipe to push it out

my neighbor and i used two standard ball joint presses... and broke them both. you NEED!!!! any kind of heavy duty ball joint press. yes!!! you NEED it. the throat in the HD presses is larger and accommodates the size of the steering knuckle and ball joints. a standard will fit BUT it is a pain the a**. then there is the force used... the main reason for the HD press. i would never do this again without the HD press. they're costly but i would pay double what they cost not to have to endure the nightmare i encountered thinking "we can just use a standard ball joint press". use the HD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After done some research and check local parts house and compare price to Amazon it’s a no brainer Amazon was almost 1/2 the price for exactly same part. I has my doubts if it would fit or not, but the parts fit perfectly. I Love it and would continue buying from Amazon
