Sony WF-SP700N Truly Wireless Noise-Cancelling Sports Headphones with EXTRA BASS and IPX4 Splash Proof - White

I was a little sceptical about these as some of the reviews gave me concern, so I will explain about that later. The box they came in was fairly heavy, but the headphones and charger are really light, it is the weight of the all paperwork that makes it feel heavy ! For starters I am using these with my Sony XZ Premium, which has Bluetooth 5.0 whereas the headphones only have Bluetooth 4.1 , which I found strange as they were brought to the market well after my phone, I suspect Sony have done that so that they are compatible with older phones, and for all practical purposes the 'mis-match' will make absolutely no difference ! Right, the first thing I did was charge them up fully, but this didn't take long as it was obvious they had some charge already in them, but I charged them in the charger box anyway. I then downloaded the Sony 'Headphones Connect' App from Google Play. I started to follow the instructions, and touched the NFC on the phone to the NFC symbol on the charger but when it tried to pair with the headphones it failed every time (it discovered them OK though), then I realised that I should have taken the headphones out of the case first, (it must turn the headphones 'off' when they are in the charger case - exactly the same as it does with my Sony Xperia Ear) as soon as I did that everything was up and running ! Well the sound was good, and as a few people have said, a little 'tinny' but the TV was on and people were chatting to me, so I couldn't really concentrate at the time and I was a little disappointed at that point so I just put them away for the night. The next day I decided I was going to check them out properly, and the first thing to remember is to put them into your ears "one at a time" - don't take them both out of the case at once, as apparently if you do that only ONE earpiece will sync, which explained what happened to me the previous night and why I thought the sound and noise cancelling wasn't good - if I have been in a quiet environment, I would have took an earpiece out one at a time and then would have discovered there was nothing coming from one of them ! I was very fortunate that the size of the 'bud' and the 'hook' were perfect for my ears, one less thing to do, but please be aware you MUST find the correct size of buds to block out the external noise first physically, otherwise the inbuilt noise cancelling will be ineffective if you don't do that, as sound from outside will 'leak' in to your ears and you will say "the noise cancelling doesn't work". Now for the awful 'tinny' sound - well that is Sony's default setting it appears (Just why do that Sony ? Default should be 'Off' really !), and if you go to the App (the logo is shown as a yellow circle with headphones in it and is called 'Headphones') open it up and got to "Equalizer', the default was "Bright" but for me is should have teen "tinny" it was awful, very harsh too. the next worse was "Treble Boost"... nearly as tinny. So PLEASE change them to anything but those two, even turning the equalizer off completely was better ! To alter the equalizer just touch the word after "Equalizer :" whatever that might be and the display will drop down and you can move left or right to the other choices. There are 8 choices plus 'Off' in total so depending on your choice of song and personal preference you will find one that suits you - for me I personally preferred "Bass Boost", and even so I didn't think the bass was excessive, but please don't say the earphones are tinny until you have played with the Equaliser ! In the "Ambient Sound Control" there are 3 settings : Noise Cancelling, Ambient Sound - Voice Mode and Ambient Sound - Normal Mode. There are a couple of other setting in the A[[ but those are the most important two. Of course there are some settings you can change from the earpieces themselves, but curiously NOT volume, that has to be done from your phone or tablet and I prefer to do it via the app or the volume toggle on the phone anyway really. They are SO comfortable to wear, you literally don't know you have them it, but you really must find the right combination of actual 'ear bud' and 'hook' to get the best out of them, yes, it takes a little experimenting, but you will end up with a good result, rather than complaining ! Well I could have done a more thorough review, but I just wanted to get the main problems people seem to be having sorted, and hope I have helped a few people in doing that ! I am VERY happy with mine and I can wander round the house up to about 25 feet from the phone with no problem, and with no 'dropout' either, but of course this might not be the case for everyone depending on the phone they have. I travel a lot on public transport and the constant background chattering around drives me mad, and without noise cancelling, listening to music is infuriating, and of course you MUST NOT just turn the volume up as that can/will damage your eardrums and these are the perfect solution now, so well worth the money. I personally NEVER walk round the town etc with earphones in it is just too dangerous, but I know a lot of people do, and the two "Ambient Sound" modes should be used for that, if you insist on walking round like that.

Update 23 Dec 19: Really want to like these earbuds but the max 1.5 hour battery life is ridiculous. DO NOT BUY. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. ========= Like: Wireless Good sound quality Noise cancellation works Fit in my ears well (a few attachments came with them to support that) Easy to use The case charges the ear pods in between use Dislike: Easy to use, but Sony over completes things by trying to get you to use their app. Balls to that. Set the earphones up then just use with your favourite music app. The battery life is terrible. I get 1h 45m use out a charge. The use case for these is commuter only. Listen on the bus/train, charge in the case through the day, listen on commute home. Don’t expect to use these all day.

You can see I have reviewed several pairs of in ear headphones. I returned all the others. These are a compromise, but at least I can use them for purpose, which is off road cycling and the occasional run. The best part is that they stay secure. I have never felt that they might drop out. Speaking of dropping out, I have never suffered Bluetooth dropouts either, even though the first thing I did was set them to 'best quality' instead of the default 'best connection'. I suspect the dropouts are caused by interference from other devices in busy places. The sound quality is quite good. The Bose had a big advantage here, but since the Bose fell out all the time, I could not use them. These sound every bit as good as the more expensive Sony SP900's that are twice the price. They don't suffer with the same odd pinging that the SP900's have. It is a shame that they don't have built in volume control. The noise cancelling is really pointless. I find on a bike that noise cancelling actually introduces wind noise more than cancel outside noise. The ambient mode is really bizarre, where some noises are reduced, yet others are amplified. I found they work best with noise cancelling switch off, especially as they already block outside noise because they fit in the ear fairly well. Overall I am happy with the compromise, so I kept them. Would I buy again? I would like to try a few more products first. I didn't try the B&O or the Jabra because of off putting reviews.

I was really worried before giving my order for those. I read all comments all over the internet, watched all reviews and videos and I actually thought to buy another brand. However after some technical comparisons I ordered. First of all, sound quality is a-ma-zing. I couldn't believe how those tiny earbuds give such powerful base and loud sound. It blocks out the noise as it supposed to do. Do not expect the best noise cancelling experience you had from headphones but come on now, those are tiny earbuds and still doing a great job. I also have Sony WH-1000X headphones but I had almost similar sound quality. I have tried it in a very crowded gym and it totally blocks the noise out. There are plenty EQ options in Headphones app and I must say they are really good. I have tried before firmware update and never had cut out issues. I am using it with Sony XZ Premium and I have changed my setting on my phone from best connection to best sound and still they didn't drop out. After the firmware update it got better. I mostly keep the phone on best effort connection so I don't have any issues. They fit quite well but I still haven't tried the other buds to find the best fit for my ear but still I have never dropped them. I ran quite fast and did some intense workouts. I felt they slightly got loose when I ran very fast but I think that's because I couldn't find the best fitting bud for my ears yet. I love skipping tracks when I am listening to music and I am used to controls on the headset from my WH-1000X. I was a bit upset as they don't have controls on the buds. Every time when I need to skip track I need to do it on my phone. There are buttons on each bud I believe Sony could make it happen to change tracks my multiple clicks. The other con is case. The lid of the case feels like it will break with a simple nudge. It feels cheap. I would expect Sony to do a much sturdy and small case for those lovely buds. The color yellow looks great but pink one was £99 and I paid £142 just because I wanted yellow. Amazon's pricing really doesn't make sense to me. Also I tried to use google assistant after firmware update. (You can change the function of the left earbud button between ambiance sound and assistant.) Mic picks up the voice quite well however the assistant's voice is very low and I couldn't find a way to increase the volume of it. When playing music it is very loud but assistant voice is really hard to hear. I bought those only use at the gym during my workouts and they do the job more than they supposed to do. They are great with great sound quality and bass. I didn't have any battery problems cause my workouts mostly take 2 hours but who would use a sports earbud to listen to music every day anyway. Headphones are much better options for that. If you know Sony quality and want an earbud for workouts don't hesitate like I did for 2 weeks. Just buy these extra bass sports buds. Edit: finding the right bud is the key. Luckily there are 4 in the box. If you use small buds, noise cancellation doesn't work and they fall off. I tried them all and biggest one (default one on the earphones) are great. If you having problems try changing your buds. Also right button changes the track, just found out. One click start stop, two clicks next track, three clicks previous track. 2nd Edit: I had to return those earbuds as after 1 month the battery life went down and it didn't even last for an hour. Thanks to amazon for their help and make it easy to return. For the first time in my life Sony disappointed me and I will change it to Bose.

After searching high and low for the holy grail of truly wireless headphones I thought I'd found them! I've previously tried the Jaybird Runs and Sony WF-1000X's, both of which suffer from audio lagging behind video no matter what device I tried them on (S7, S9, iPhone 6, Tab S2). However, the WF-SP700N's have faired a little better. There are no sync issues with my S9+ running Bluetooth 5.0, however, there are issues with my Tab S2 running Bluetooth 4.1. If you're looking at purchasing these I'd suggest you check the BT version on your devices first if video playback is a primary use for you.

These were awful from the beginning. Pros: Compact Lightweight Very comfortable (for me) Cons: Awful sound quality Poor quality case (sounded like it was scraping on the earbuds every time you'd open the lid) Cannot be used to watch anything as the sound is not in sync As much as I would like these to work as intended, the quality wasn't even comparable to my £20 MDR-NC31E, The sound is so tinny and flat you'd think they were a fraction of the cost. I can honestly only recommend these if you pick them up for under £30. It's a no from me.

I finally found headphones that are the perfect companion for my workouts. Waterproof, powerful sound with a lot of bass, extremely comfortable, solid connection with almost no dropouts, no wires. The only minus point someone can mention is average battery life compared to competition. Most competition lacks in other areas anyway, and these are not meant for long travels, they are sports headphones and 3 hours of juice is enough for 99% of workouts. And popping them in the charging case for a bit will keep you going longer. Also, on my Xperia XZ3 there are no sound/video sync issues, but I am aware that older phones might not be able to be smart enough to know what kind of headphones they are and sync accordingly.

This was my first pair of 'truly wireless' earphones/buds, bought to replace another pair of Sony wireless earphones whose wire had frayed. I was initially impressed with the sound quality while playing music via my phone, and the noise cancelling did a great job to drown out the lawnmower. They fitted my ears really well with the standard (medium) plugs, although after around half an hour of use the left ear felt loose; while it never fell out I didn't feel confident that it would stay in place. The following day I took the buds to work to see how they performed in a large, open-plan office. Again, the music sound quality was good, although I found the noise cancelling to be too good, drowning out most noise which resulted in my turning the music off when I was walking around so I didn't feel disorientated. Then came the real problem for me, phonecall performance. First, only the left bud works when you're on a call, the right one continues to provide noise cancellation but doesn't provide any audio. This left me feeling like there was something in my ear; almost like a high pressure bubble in there, and it made me feel quite uncomfortable. I really didn't like the fact I was wearing a bud in both ears but only had sound coming in through one ear. Then there's the noise cancellation, with it turned off I could hear everything going on around me and it seemed clearer than when using non-noise cancelling earphones. With noise-cancellation turned on I flicked between full and ambient, and really wasn't happy with either. At one point during my call a cleaner came to empty the bin about 10 feet away. While I couldn't hear the conversation at the next desk, the phones picked up the sound of a bin bag being lifted and played it really loudly into my ear. Really loudly. Normally you wouldn't notice any noise from the cleaner, and indeed when I took the phones out for a second to check what I was hearing I could hardly hear it, but put them back in and the rustling of the bin bag was deafening. So in summary - I wasn't confident they'd stay in place during activity, I felt disorientated moving around a busy location with these in, and the calling experience was awful; my main issue was with the audio only being delivered to the left ear, if it wasn't for this I might have been able to live with the noise cancelling issues and turned that feature off, but all wrapped up in this one tiny package was just too much and after a day of use they went back to Amazon for a refund. On the case, I agree with many other reviews I've read, the fit is very secure, but the swing lid doesn't seem like it would last too long before snapping off. The box, although small, is quite bulky when you try to fit it into a trouser/jeans pocket. It's uncomfortably big and would no doubt get damaged if kept in there for the day. I've always been a fan of Sony's audio gear, but this is the first product I've been unhappy with, and unhappy enough to send it back. Given the price I expected a lot, lot more from these phones.

Je ne pourrais pas juger du produit en lui même car il n’a pas été possible de le jumeler à mon Iphone 11 ni à ma tablette Galaxy S4 et c’est bien dommage ... néanmoins j’ai trouvé que le produit était très beau et de qualité ! J’ai vraiment trouvé ces écouteurs roses magnifiques !

Ich liebe diese Kopfhörer. Ich nutze sie fast täglich beim Sport. Ich denke auch nur zu diesem Zweck nutzt man sie richtig. Die Akkulaufzeit würde mir für Alltagskopfhörer niemals ausreichen. Jeder der sich diese als Alltagskopfhörer kauft, muss verstehen, dass 3 Stunden viel zu kurz sind. Daher finde ich manche Rezessionen hier etwas unpassend. Die Akkulaufzeit ist ja kein Geheimnis. Die Box zum aufladen ist sehr praktisch. Und ich habe auch das Gefühl, dass die Kopfhörer etwas länger als 3 Stunden halten. Ich lade die Box etwa 1 mal die Woche, bin aber 3-5 die Woche im Fitnessstudio. Der Sound ist prima und sie sitzen perfekt im Ohr. Natürlich kann man sie nicht mit On Ear Kopfhörern vergleichen. Der Resonanzkörper ist viel geringer. Ich will sie auf jeden Fall nicht mehr missen.

Acquisto l'auricolare. Mi arriva il 10 luglio. Apro la scatola e meraviglia : L'auricolare sinistro non funziona. E' l'auricolare dedito al collegamento. Non funziona quindi nemmeno l'NFC perchè ovviamente il sinistro non si accende. Inizia una epistolare discussione. Amazon è colpa del venditore. Il venditore le politiche di Amazon sono reso. Premesso che la ditta è italiana, ed opera su territorio nazionale, rilasciando ricevute con partita IVA italiana. Chiedo la sostituzione perchè gli auricolari mi piacciono e voglio quelli gialli per cui ho pagato 76 euro. L'azienda in questione è disponibile solo al rimborso ..facendo anche il piacere di un rimborso totale. MI dicono di rivolgermi all'assistenza SONY. Loro la sostituzione non la fanno. Il motivo non ne hanno più. Con mio stupore vedo che l'etichetta esterna nella scatola riporta anno di produzione 08-2019. Quindi questa azienda mi ha venduto un oggetto prodotto 4 ANNI FA !!!! con batterie. Scarto di magazzino praticamente. Quindi il messaggio è ATTENZIONE A COSA VI VIENE SPEDITO E L'ANNO DI PRODUZIONE, MAGARI E' DATATO !!!!! L'esperienza con questo venditore è pessimo. Ah, dimenticavo : Se vuoi acquistare su Amazon questo oggetto oggi lo paghi da 156 a 200 euro !!!! Quindi, oggi, se voglio lo stesso oggetto lo devo pagare il doppio o il triplo... Bell'affare !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Per completezza di informazioni riporto anche il responso dell'assistenza a cui la ditta in oggetto ha detto di rivolgersi. Con la presente, La informiamo che abbiamo ricevuto il riscontro dal dipartimento di competenza. Siamo spiacenti di informarla che non possiamo sostituire le cuffie perché questo modello non è più disponibile, né ordinabile dato che è un modello del 2017. Quindi l'assistenza non risponde perchè l'articolo è di ben 6 anni fà venduto l'altro giorno. Evitate di trovarvi in questa situazione, pretendete di sapere sempre la data di produzione per non trovarvi rifilati prodotti vecchi, venduti come nuovi dove nemmeno l'assistenza risponde, alla faccia dell'assistenza per due anni E' UNA VERGOGNA COLOSSALE

La primera unidad que me regalaron nuca llego a funcionar ninguno de los dos auriculares. Por mas horas de carga que los puse el fallo según el led rojo intermitente era fallo de batería. Nunca funcionaron. La segunda unidad que pedí, lo mismo aunque solo con el auricular izquierdo, el derecho llego a funcionar y cargar el izquierdo no. No me explico como Sony puede vender unos auriculares con unas baterías tan malas.
