Prodigy Guitar Picks, Standard, Black 1.5mm, 6-pack (P09199)

Best bass picks ever. Very rigid if that's your thing and insanely durable

I have been playing guitar for 8 years. I play everyday and mostly don't use picks. However, when I want to shred or pick out some bluegrass, I need a rock solid pick. This one is it. I bought a 5 pack 6 months ago and I haven't lost a single one.. so if that says anything. It flies off the strings and gives an amazing sound, coated in a nice resin to help get an even better sound straight out the pack.

Premium product for a good price, comfortable to use during long play sessions due to the thickness of the body. nice clean edges, though one had a very minor imperfection on the rear edge that was able to be taken care of with 30 seconds and a nail file.

These picks are SO CLOSE to being perfect, but they're not quite there. I've got the 1.5 and the 2 and I absolutely LOVE them, but theres' just one small problem: The beveled edge isn't really finished well and really should just be rounded off or tapered better. I'm very particular about how the pick glides (or does NOT glide) across the string and these, once polished down with a little bit of 300 grit sandpaper are perfect. They're perfectly pointy for those who are looking for really clear articulation and control. This is the pick for shredders and speed players - not really great for the Martin or Ovation strummers. once you get that bevel to settle down a bit and round it down, they play like a DREAM. SO GOOD! What makes this pick really great though, they SOUND so much better than any other pick I've got. and I've tried them all. They're rigid like they need to be for tight, articulate control, and they feel good in your hand. It would be nice if there were a few more colors to choose from but that's only because I want to be able to easily see them when they're laying around more than anything else. If Ernie and/or anyone on his team is listening, charge another dollar or 2 for the pack and finish these edges a little better! Even better would be to drill a few small holes in them to help with grip. Did that on one of these and it's amazing how those tiny holes keep it from sliding or slipping around in your fingers when you're digging in and playing hard. I keep buffing down and polishing the edges on this one because it's by far my favorite and most comfortable of the pack. a "nice to have" would be a material that's a little more durable. I notice these are pretty good, but if you're working on strumming-types of drills that result in a more violent interaction between the string and pick, these wear down faster than I'd like, but they're still overall great! (BTW - Dunlop, if you're lurking around here, make an Ultex version that's as pointy as this Ernie Ball and I'll order a box full!) Either way you won't do wrong by picking these up if you're looking for that Jazz 3 feel, pointy, and rigid pick -- they're really great!

I was skeptical at first with these because they were more expensive than the Dunlop sharp picks I was using before. As soon as I opened the package, however, I realized i was getting more value here. These pics are very smooth, but the edge they have makes picking a breeze. They also last very long! I’ve been using the same pick from that first bag for the past 6 months and compared to the other pics, the only difference is the aesthetic. I play for at least an hour every day, so I have put this pick through a lot. I highly recommend these picks, however if you’re someone who loses picks often, there might be cheaper options for you

I primarily play heavy metal and hard rock. The thickness of this pick and it's smaller size makes it so much easier to okay accurately and fast. Picking the string I want is easier than a standard size pick and now I can do pinch harmonics. For the life of me, I can't do them with a full size pick.

Nice thickness for picking an electric guitar. A bit heavy if you are using an acoustic you really want something thinner. Not a complaint just a heads up. Great picks!

These picks are stiff and pointy, which is what I wanted. good size as well. The interesting thing is I ordered them in Black, in the package they're grey. I took one out, used it and it turned black within 20 min..

I play a lot of Slipknot and you some thick .60 strings on my telecaster to make sure I have enough string tension and these strings do a great job at holding up against them. Not idea if you do a lot of struming but fast alternate picking these just slide past the strings, due to their sharp point and chamfered edges.

I am impressed with the quality of these picks. Make sure you pick the right size because I thought standard 1.5mm ones would be okay but it turned out to be really small.
