Wonder cream
I had perfect skin all through my teens but had bad acne in my early 20's which seriously dented my confidence. My twin sister also suffered with it at exactly the same time. However, she was given Roaccutane by the doctor to clear it up, but for some reason they wouldn't give it to me. How unfair is that?? So her acne completely cleared up leaving no scars, whereas I was left (with a face full of acne) to fend for myself and spend money on creams and lotions that I had no idea would work or not. The doctors didn't have a clue either (I saw a few different doctors). The only advice they could give was the usual "wash your face, drink plenty of fluids, get regular excercise, eat sensibly", always assuming that you don't do any of those things and that they are the main contributors of acne. Sure these things might help, but they won't cure it! I'm actually glad now that they couldn't help because as a result I became very interested in skin care and I think it has really paid off. I first discovered Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid, and using face creams combining both of these, my acne eventually cleared up (which took about 1 - 2 years to go completely - you can't expect results overnight!). But wanting to next deal with the scars it left, the occasional breakout and the first signs of ageing as I approach 30, I did some investigating for a cream that could do a bit more. I came across Skin Doctors Gamma Hydroxy which contained more than just Salicylic and Glycolic acids, so I decided to give it a shot. I have been using it for almost a year now and I use it all over my face. My skin is now so smooth, I hardly ever get breakouts any my acne scars have reduced significantly. I also noticed that my skin always looks really plump! I am 28 now, but have been told by 3 different people in the last few months that I look 19! My skin appears to be wrinkle-free and I think this may be down to the fact that this cream also contains Hyaluronic Acid (disguised under the name 'Sodium Hyaluronate') which is excellent for hydration and plumping up skin. I don't know why this isn't mentioned in the product description, because if I'd known from the start that it contained Hyaluronic Acid, I would have bought a lot more of this stuff!! I think that Gamma Hydroxy provides a great base for foundation (which I still wear because I like the flawless look). I feel it acts like a primer (if used everyday for a number of weeks as it reduces wrinkles). My foundation just glides on as a result. I also find the cream is a great moisturiser. I tried some horrible creams in the past (also containing AHA's & BHA's) for acne/acne scarring that just dried my face out and made me look worse (although this may be down to the fact that skin is more irritable when suffering with acne). But this cream is so great at balancing moisture levels, my face is never dry and always feels comfortable. It also smells nice. I can't see myself ever using any other face cream as this stuff does so much for spots, pore size, wrinkles and moisturising! It seems to take care of everything. I'm coming to the end of my current pot and I'm getting a bit anxious that it's running out!!! Will be buying more asap!! I should also mention that I do use Skin Doctors Retanew cream twice a week as well, which is a delight to use as it's so soft. Maybe my results are a combination of using both creams? Give them a go!

finally a product that works!!!!!!!
I bought this cream to help get rid of acne scars. I don't have loads of scars but the ones I do have are hard to conceal. I always get the odd spot pop up now and again and my complexion could do with brightening up. Well its been about 4 weeks now since I started using this cream and I must say the results are amazing. I wasn't too sure to begin with as I felt that my skin was reacting badly to the cream. I'd wash my face with a cleansing cloth and tone as normal and then I'd put the cream on my face. I noticed my face would go red in places. A week later I thought I was getting a bit of a rash and I noticed the white spots in the morning. I was sure this cream would work but I didn't understand why my face was going red (redness did disappear after some time). So I decided to stop using my toner for a few days and see what happens. Within days I noticed my face wasn't getting red anymore and the little white spots stopped. Now my complexion looks much brighter and my scars are fading (nearly disappeared totally). So for me this cream is a fantastic product which I most defintley reccommend and will certainly be buying again. The tingling sensation when you put the cream on is normal and I noticed that I had flaky/dry skin coming off in the first few weeks but thats stopped now. overall I've noticed my scars fade, no new spots and a brighter even conplexion which is more than I expected ( I thought it'd take longer to see results) Excellent results, excellent products at a very good price. If you are interested in trying this product make sure you do a skin test first.

Very positive initial results
I bought this primarily to ward off persistent mild/moderate adult acne. (34/M) I have used this day and night for 10 days now and it has made a huge difference. I shower/wash my face, then splash thoroughly with cold water to close the pores, and apply a small smear over the entire cheek(s) area. It still tingles for a few minutes after application, especially for the first few days, but it never 'burns'. A few times I've had to dab on some regular moisturiser when the skin has dried too much, but generally I don't need it. I don't even get the tightness that I expected or had gotten with other products containing salicylic acid. After a few days I stopped getting new spots. Usually, at any time of the day, I could get some itchiness/irritation on my face (cheeks usually), which would signal the arrival of a new blemish. This was incredibly annoying in that I couldn't scratch it as it'd make it worse/cause more spots, and there was pretty much nothing I could do about it. Not only have I not gotten any new spots, but this constant cycle of irritation/blemish has gone. I also have had some mild scarring/hyperpigmentation on my left cheekbone and I've noticed that this is also fading slowly. Dietary changes, exercise, and other products such as the cleanser/moisturiser appear to have very little impact for me, though I'd always recommend plenty of water and a clean pillow case every night. For what it's worth, I use 'Johnson's Top to Toe Bath' as a face wash (a few seconds application) and Simple light moisturiser. I'm old enough and have read enough of these reviews down the years to tell people to take them all with a pinch of salt. This works for me now, but it's likely that whatever is causing it to do so, will gradually become less potent and I'll need to look elsewhere at some point. Then again, I spent just as much money on Manuka Honey and all that did was make my skin worse, though it was damn impressive on toast. EDIT (8th June 2018): Over 5 years on and I'm still using it. Just as potent as ever. Pity the price varies so much, but it's still worth it.

worth the money
This works and is worth the money, i've been using this product for 3 months now and have noticed a real difference. I have sensitive combination skin, with acne scars and breakouts, i was wary of using a strong chemical based cream, but was so down about my scars i wanted to give it a try. i've been using it as a night cream only, as it is quite shiny and strong smelling and i wanted to fit it into my regular skincare regime and feel i need that daytime moisturiser, i cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturise with liz earle products, and then put this on at night, it took a couple of weeks for my skin to settle, some spots and dry flaking, but after that i couldn't believe how improved my skin tone was, brighter, smoother and i have had far less spots since using this, now just get the monthly 1 or 2. I am now only using it 1-2 nights a week as i'm derma rolling my scars and feel its not right for using with this. ( any tips on what to use while derma rolling would be great) I will continue to use this product as a winter night cream, and will prob only need a tub a yr as a little goes a long way, The best thing about this is i can see my scars fading and no more breakouts! The zit zappers great too!

an okay product
im not going to say i was blown away by the product but it was good, it helped reduce my facial redness. now my face has an even skin tone with the rest of my body. it does nothing to dented acne scars(rolling acne scars) though which was really disappointing because that was the sole reason why i purchased this product in the first place. i also noticed that it sort of makes active acne worse if u apply the cream on those acne.

Personally I love the stuff!
Up till recently I can't really remember a time when I've not had problem skin. Now in my late 20s I stubbled upon this product by chance but swear by it. Its been amazing. Within a couple of weeks definitely by a month my spotty large pores and acne scars had reduced. Friends, family and colleagues were commenting on my complexions improvement. 9 months later I'm happy to go out make up free as though I get the occasionally spot (not break out) usually due to stress, it feels like the first time in a lifetime I'm happy with my skin. Ok it would be nice to not have the odd spot but hey considering a year before that I'd of been covered in them its a win, at least they less frequent anf less painful. It has a mild smell (I dont mind it) and a tingle rather than burn when put on (you feel like its working which I like) which hardly last long. I've not yet and I've used it twice daily ever felt i needed to wash it off as was painful (I've done that before with some very expensive facecreams which were meant to help). In those 9 months I've only just started my 3rd pot, a little goes a long way which is a bonus as does feel like a lot to fork out on an initial outset. [I'm finding 1 pot does between 3 and 4 months on just my face] Like I said it had worked wonders for me. Ive got sensitive and (according to facial spa ladies) dry lower levelskin and oil surface skin. The ladies in the office all have had a go, some haven't got on with it (generally just dry skin) others have (generally mixed/combination skin) so know that there are mixed reactions to the product. Like I said I love the product as my skin is finally looking less like a teenagers and more like an adults finally - a major confidence boast!!!

Took the skin off my face after 2 applications and I look and feel dreadfully. Skin raised, red, blotchy, itchy peeling.
EDIT: I do not have sensitive skin. If "resurfacing" means after 2 applications your skin will be red, blotchy, raised, lumpy, sore and itchy and then start to peel after 3 days making you look like you have severely sunburned your face ... then I think I will stick to my old dead skin or try something less aggressive. I have used dead skin removal foot cream that had a lesser reaction than this. EDIT: Day 4 and I have discovered I cannot apply makeup or indeed anything other than Vaseline to my face and neck without it stinging. Alarmingly now on day 3 (after 2 days use or X2 applications) I can literally smell my skin on my face. It smells like a chemical burnt smell. My eyelids are puffed up. My facial skin feels like the skin on the bottom of your feet and that is no exaggeration. My neck in particular feels leathery and rough. My eyelids, neck and face burn no matter what I apply even just Vaseline. And the skin looks aged, wrinkly, old. Out of interest I looked up "Chemical Peel" and what to expect and as far as I am feeling, I may as well of had a deep chemical peel. See below: ----------- After a deep chemical peel, you'll experience severe redness and swelling. You'll also feel burning and throbbing, and your eyelids might swell shut. Your doctor will apply a watertight dressing to treated skin. He or she might also prescribe painkillers. Sleeping in a semireclined position may help reduce swelling. Treated areas will develop new skin within about two weeks after a deep chemical peel, although cysts or white spots might appear for several weeks and redness might last for months. Treated skin might become darker or lighter than normal or lose the ability to tan. You might prefer to remain at home while you're healing from a chemical peel. Once new skin completely covers the treated area in about two weeks, you can use cosmetics to conceal any redness.

Excellent for black, acne prone and hyper pigmented (if that is english) skin
I am a woman of African descent in my late 20's with severe acne scarring , extra dry , sensitive with adult acne skin I have had acne since the time I hit puberty no joke and have tired everything from benzyl peroxide to birth control pills with no success until I tired a form of Retinoid (instant relief) which however left my face very dry and painful to touch and extremely red (for a dark skin person). I did my research on creams containing AHA's which would gradually peel off the old layer of skin while promoting new cell growth, act as a fantastic moisturizer and reduce redness well I found it. Skin doctor's have a fantastic formula for ME :) I have been using this for 6 weeks now once a day in the morning since it is a peel, I didn't want to irritate my skin initially (starting very slow then will gradually increase to 2ce a day then eventually 3ce a day) and I am very happy with the result, the dryness is gone sometimes I experience dryness since I have not stopped the retinol cream and so use skin doctors more than once a day to keep it at bay. I also exfoliate twice a week and my skin is very smooth, the old acne scars/ hyper-pigmentation have greatly reduced and I like that it is gradually fading If I need to go somewhere special I use a full coverage fondation and I am good to go. I will be purchasing more tubes of this and will write another review after 4-6months. I love this stuff. Thank you skin doctors! oh did I say it is affordable too, the best value for £25 ever. I love it love it love it
