These are perfect for having before or during a long run to keep energy up. I like to run in the mornings but I can't get up early enough to give a meal time to settle before a run. These Gu gels are great for this as I can have one then run immediately after, they never give me stomach trouble, and the caffeine gives you a little extra boost. The packets are also leak-proof and easy to tear open while you're on the go if you want to eat one while running. The salted caramel flavor is delicious too which helps!

These taste lovely. I don't like eating anything on a long run as it makes me feel sick. Also most gels make me feel sick, but these were lovely and I didn't feel any sickness with them

It’s like eating a lovely caramel sauce, but whilst you’re running a long distance! Definitely need water with them, but I carry that anyway so it’s not a problem. I don’t really notice the caffeine, but that’s likely due to my current high intake causing me to build up a resilience to its affects - the carbs definitely help me reach those longer distances.

Have always loved Gu gels, all the flavours are delicious, there is no chemical taste with them, just perfect and gentle on the stomach.

Really tasty and more importantly if taken in good time a great energy booster - I'm a road and mountain biker. Easy to digest and the saltiness is very pleasant - makes you take on more fluid which is generally a good thing for me.

Ich war auf der Suche nach der richtigen Energieversorgung für den Marathon. Getränke fielen schnell raus, da sie schlecht zu transportieren sind. Gels gibt es wie Sand am Meer, also habe ich mich erstmal lange mit Zusammensetzung und Inhaltsstoffen beschäftigt und bin bei GU gelandet da hier nicht nur einfacher Zucker oder reine Fructose als Kohlehydratquelle dient. Der hier verwendete Kohlehydratemix wirkt länger. Was mir wichtig war: - guter Kohlehydratmix - kein Fruchtgeschmack - erhöhter Salzgehalt (da ich viel Schwitze beim Laufen) - passende Portion GESCHMACK: Ich mag persönlich Fruchtgeschmack bei Gels gar nicht und das schränkt die Auswahl stark ein. Auch deshalb bin ich bei diesem gelandet. Und was soll ich sagen: Es schmeckt wirklich irre gut! Die Konsistenz wird oft als zu dickflüssig rezensiert was ich nicht bestätigen kann. Trotzdem ist es sicher sinnvoll ein paar Schluck nach zu trinken, was im gut organisierten Wettkampf aber kein Problem ist. WIRKUNG: Man merkt die Wirkung nach 3-4 Minuten deutlich, sodass man das Gefühl hat die Energieversorgung ist wieder hergestellt. Ebenso empfinde ich einen Leistungsboost, was aber vielleicht auch Kopfsache sein kann. Allerdings ist ja auch Koffein enthalten, was auch seinen Teil dazu beitragen könnte. Die Wirkung hält ca. 30-45 Minuten an (je nach Verausgabung), somit reicht mir ein Gel ca. 7-10 km. Meistens nehme ich das erste nach 10km , später ggf kürzere Abstände, somit komme ich mit vier Gels gut über die Marathondistanz. Das Gel lässt sich leicht öffnen und braucht wenig Platz. Ich kann es jedem Empfehlen der es für die Langdistanz verwenden möchte und auch die Nase voll von Fruchtgeschmack hat. Unbedingt ausprobieren es schmeckt so gut dass man meinen könnte es wäre eine sehr sehr ungesunde Süßigkeit:-)

While the value is excellent, make sure you enjoy the Salted Caramel flavor before committing to the full case, though I found it delicious. Final Verdict: I highly recommend these to new runners or anyone looking to fuel their training without overpaying. If you are debating between this and pricier boutique brands, save your money and go with GU—it works just as well.

J'utilise déjà régulièrement la version "Triple Baies" de cette marque pour mes courses longues. Comme ces dernières le format de ces gourdes est très bien adapté pour les sorties longues (j'en consomme un par tranche de 10 km parcourus) et dont le goût est agréable ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas dans ce genre de produit. Faciles à transporter, ces gourdes contiennent dans un faible volume (32g), une grande quantité d'énergie pour seulement 100 calories. Elles apportent l'énergie nécessaire grâce au fructose naturel (sucre rapide) et à la maltodextrine absorbée immédiatement par les muscles. Comme elles contiennent un ensemble de sels minéraux, elles retardent aussi la déshydratation. Elles permettent aussi de soutenir les efforts intenses grâce aux glucides complexes qui stabilisent le taux de glycémie sanguine tandis que les citrates accélèrent la conversion de ces glucides en molécules énergétiques. Attention, il est préférable de boire l'équivalent d'un verre d'eau juste après son absorption, cela permet de diluer l'effet sucré tout en maximisant leur effet.
