Simple machine. Works well.
Works well. Overall, a good value. Takes around 4-5 hours to fill the 1.6 gallon container. If you manually shut it off you can go a couple more cycles before needing to clean the scale at the bottom. Honestly, if I'd have known what I now know about plastic and heat, I'd have gotten a glass jug instead of a plastic one. They are available separately, so I'm looking for the right one. This is distillation, not filtration, so the taste may be from the plastic jug. The stainless steel inside is easy enough to clean with a diluted vinegar.

Easy to use and easy to clean! Very mutual
Love this thing. Use it for my CPAP, humidifiers, robot vacuum/mop, making baby formula, Houseplants, my fur babyโs automatic water fountain, bottle warmer, and so many more! BEWARE: First two full runs of this machine is said to not be safe for drinking. I just want people to know that in case you miss that part. I just used it for mop water. I put the metal piece for the gallon upside down because I noticed that if I have it up the water that drips down follows along the inside and drips around the opening of the gallon rather than inside it. Or you could just like not use the metal piece or you can use a silicone funnel. Love this machine and it is just a tank literally lol. Not too heavy, but he gets the job done. No odor at all. It seems very durable. The only annoying thing is getting water in it because I canโt fit in my sink, so I gotta kinda hold it at a weird angle and spray into it. Also, donโt forget to plug in the top lid as well. Otherwise youโre just boiling water and itโs probably gonna do little to nothing. I wouldnโt have cabinets or anything above this guy as just a precaution so you donโt accidentally ruin your cabinets if you forget to plug in the top lid or youโre cleaning it with the lid off and just forget that this is a lot of hot steam. When you run it normally though it is totally fine and does not release any moisture at the top. Very easy to clean if you use citric acid that they give you or buy some at the store for cheap. Just make sure that you have the lid off when youโre cleaning it. Overall, great easy use and easy to clean!

VIVOHOME Water Distiller Countertop
Iโm absolutely thrilled with the VIVOHOME Water Distiller Countertop 1.6 Gallon/6L 900W! From setup to first use, everything was straightforward and hassle-free. The unit feels solid and well-built, and the smart switch makes it incredibly convenientโjust set it and forget it while it produces clean, pure water. The distilled water tastes crisp and fresh, and I feel confident knowing itโs free from impurities. I love that itโs large enough for home or office use without taking up too much counter space. The included filter works perfectly, and cleaning the machine is quick and simple. Overall, this distiller is a game-changer for anyone wanting pure, safe drinking water every day. Highly recommend for home or officeโitโs worth every penny!

No more lugging gallon jugs of water from the store!
Been using this for a couple of months now, and I must say I'm pleased with the way this machine works to make truly distilled water. I was buying bottled distilled water at over $1.00 a pop and lugging home the gallon jugs. I saved a bunch of the jugs and now refill them with the water this machine makes. Although we have a really good water softener (the water in my city is probably the hardest in the USA), I still need distilled water for my portable humidifiers (a MUST in the desert) and for my tabletop fountains. Although the instructions say you don't need to clean it after every cycle, I do that anyway to avoid buildup. There is always residue at the bottom of the tank after distilling, so I add an inch or 2 of vinegar to the tank, let it sit for about a half hour, wipe and clean with a dishrag and rinse it with fresh water and it's good as new. It takes several hours to produce 1 gallon of water, but that's OK. The unit turns off automatically once all the water is distilled.. One might wonder if the electricity costs to run the machine outweigh the cost of buying distilled water at the store, but I haven't seen any significant rise in my electric bills so that's not an issue for me. One thing that I've noticed is that I no longer have to clean my humidifier as often. I suspect that store-bought distilled water is not as "distilled" as it claims to be. I was constantly getting residue in the humidifier but now that's not an issue, so YAY! I don't use the unit for drinking water so I can't vouch for the taste (but most distilled water is kind of yucky IMO). I hope this thing lasts a long time because so far it's worth every cent, and will pay for itself in a couple more months in the savings from having to buy bottled distilled water. So if you're planning to buy this (or one like it), start saving those gallon jugs from the store.

Absolutely do not recommend
So sorry there is not a zero stars option. Absolutely the worst product I have ever bought. I bought this one because it came highly recommended. It is sitting on a perfectly flat level surface and is correctly installed, and only about half of the water goes into the tank while the rest of it runs all over the counter, drip by drip. I tried turning around the metal receiving angle, then propping up the side away from the distillery by about a half an inch, as recommended by the company, and more water is going into the receiving tank now, but I should not have to do this. All it would take would be for the manufacturer to make the distribution spout about a half inch longer and all the water would go into the tank but they cheaped out by shortening the spout. It takes forever for 1 gallon of water to be processed, and then I only have about half of a gallon because the rest is all over the countertop. Very disappointed. Oh, and as some people have mentioned, it is loud but I'm not bothered by that. I'm bothered by a simple adjustment that the company could make that would keep this from happening. As the manufacturer shows, the open side of the receiving metal angle is facing toward the distiller. They discuss that one way of taking care of this problem is to turn out so that it faces the other way. That's not the way the product was built; they also suggest propping up the side away from the distiller. You shouldn't have to do that when you're on a level surface. Note a toothbrush underside is being used to prop up a tank because this seemed to be the right size.Junk junk junk!

Durable, good quality, good customer service
This is my 2nd home water distiller and I'd have it for about a year. Still working and going strong except the power cord blew out recently and the customer service was excellent, they sent me a replacement under included warranty. It's much quieter than the last distiller I had and easy to clean. I use a descaling solution every week or so.

Overall, I do really like the VIVOHOME Water Distiller!
Not sure how I want to rate this Water Distiller. I will start with things that need to be worked on. The cap that goes over the water canister. When you put it on top of the water canister, there's a small margin for error. I placed it on, started it, and came back much later, and the water was leaking down the counter onto my wood floor. I was not a happy camper, but I should have looked more closely at the downspout's position. After cleaning up the mess, I started to look at everything. Looking at the metal cap, there is a V-shaped piece of metal on the top to funnel water into the canister. The V should be facing out so it forms a funnel/trough, but when I turned it the way I thought it would work, that V funnel was on the far side of the hole, not even close to the downspout. I was confused why it had to be the other way. Then I spotted that the bottom of the Distiller's canister was wider than the top, and the plastic water canister, and they were hitting each other, making the hole the water needed to go into further away. So if the Water Distiller were higher, it would work better. I placed my rigid plastic cutting board under the Water Distiller. But that didn't make the downspout closer to the V funnel. I placed one of the rubber legs under the Water Distiller in the juice grove around my cutting board, which shifted it over the water canister and the V-funnel, lining it up much better. So what is my opinion? The solution is to make the Water Distiller canister top and bottom the same size. I am sure they did it this way to make it more stable due to the weight distribution. I think if they make the Water Distiller heaver on the base it would solve the problem. I have a H2O Labs Water Distiller, and the bottom is heavier. Now, to what I like about this Water Distiller. First, the capacity is 1.6 gallons, versus 1 gallon for most Water distillers. The made a handle in the lid so it is much easier to remove the top from the bottom. The VIVOHOME Water Distiller seems much faster than my H2o Labs Water Distiller. The power cord is good. On my H2o, Labs, it is shorter, which limits where I can place it. With that said, I really do like the VIVOHOME Water Distiller. I'm not quite sure how to rate this Water Distiller, so I'll start with areas that I think could use some improvement. One issue is the cap that fits over the water canister. When you place it on top, there's very little margin for error. I started the distiller and, when I returned later, I found water leaking down the counter onto my wood floor. Understandably, I was not happy. However, I realized I should have paid closer attention to the downspout's position. After cleaning up the mess, I examined everything more closely. The metal cap has a V-shaped piece on top that is supposed to funnel water into the canister. The V should be facing outward to create a proper funnel, but when I positioned it as I thought it should, the V funnel ended up on the far side of the hole, far from the downspout. This confused me, as it seemed the other way around should be the case. Then I noticed that the bottom of the distiller's canister is wider than the top, causing it to collide with the plastic water canister. This misalignment pushed the hole through which the water needed to flow farther away, which is why the distiller would perform better if it were higher. I placed a rigid plastic cutting board under the Water Distiller, but that didnโt bring the downspout closer to the V funnel. Eventually, I propped one of the rubber legs under the distiller on the juice groove of my cutting board, which shifted it over the water canister and aligned the V funnel much better. So, whatโs my opinion? The solution would be to make the top and bottom of the Water Distiller canister the same size. I assume the current design is intended for stability due to weight distribution, but I think adding more weight to the base would solve the issue. I have an H2O Labs Water Distiller, and its base is heavier. Now, let's talk about what I like about this Water Distiller. First, it has a capacity of 1.6 gallons, compared to just 1 gallon for most water distillers. The lid also has a handle, making it much easier to remove the top from the bottom. Additionally, the VIVOHOME Water Distiller seems to operate much faster than my H2O Labs distiller. The power cord is also longer, giving me more flexibility in choosing a placement.

Solid, Quiet, and So Convenient
Weโve been using the VIVOHOME 1.5-gallon countertop water distiller for a while now, and Iโm genuinely impressed. First โ the durability. It feels solid and sturdy, but itโs surprisingly lightweight and easy to move if needed. It doesnโt feel cheap at all. You can tell itโs well made. Second โ itโs quiet. We honestly donโt even notice it running during the day while weโre going about our normal routine. That was important to us. We use distilled water strictly for our CPAP machine and nasal flushing. We donโt drink it, and it works perfectly for both. The water has no smell, no weird taste, and it gives us peace of mind knowing itโs clean and consistent. The biggest win? No more trips to the store and no more hauling heavy jugs of distilled water home. That alone has made this completely worth it. If you use distilled water regularly for medical equipment, this is a great investment. Itโs convenient, reliable, and has simplified our routine. Highly recommend.

Great unit!!
I have had this distiller for a few months and I am very happy with it. Price was excellent, quality good, design excellent. This unit has replaced our previous MegaHome distiller that sadly isnโt worth the price, in less than 2 years it died and it had cost me 3 x the price of my new unit. I like that this unit is larger has more megawatts so in less time than my old unit I have more water distilled water. The water tastes good, keep the unit clean between uses to save time on a crusty bottom, yes the pot does get discoloured but this isnโt uncommon in distillers depending on how much crap is in your water to start with. We have a water softener so yes there is lots of crap in the water. The container that collects the distilled water is sturdy, I transfer water to a glass gallon jug and keep a minimum of 12 gallons of water on hand for drinking and cooking. The unit shuts off when it is empty then you use the reset button for your next use. what I like is the on and off switch that I didnโt have on the other unit so if you want to stop the unit before it is empty just switch it off without unplugging it. Overall great machine for the price I paid, Thankyou for making this product so well!!

Works Perfectly!
This is an excellent unit, Iโve been using it almost daily for about 2 months now, and Iโve even used it twice in a day (letting it cool off between cycles) with no problems. It works perfectly for my needs, my tap water smells like a swampy lake sometimes, and has a reddish tint to it. There are some VOCs in my water where sometimes even after distilling it still smells swampy, so I just put it through a Brita filter to take the rest of the smell away and then I add a tiny bit of concentrated trace minerals, and it tastes nice and fresh like water from BC! I highly recommend this unit, I am very happy with my purchase and would purchase again. ๐

Been through enough to properly judge
OK, so I have gone thru at least 4 of the vevor smaller version. This one whilst I have only run it twice, seems better. I use this for all the household's drinking consumption, including cooking, etc.. i star decucted for the plastic resevoir/jug. As well as the messed up design: resevoirdoes not line up with spout, its a smidge too tall. Ridiculous!!. UPDATE: I now have it sit on a 1/4i nch placemat, and now it lines up. Sort of annoying but at least the countertop is doubly safe.

Pays for itself.
I have only had it for 24 hours and I have 16 liters of distilled water. The noise is at an acceptable level. Like any low frequency fan. The spout is a little sensitive to receiving bottle positioning. ( had a couple of cleanups but I think with experience that will be solved). A 4 liter bottle of distilled water costs about $2.20; I estimate electricity costs at about 80 cents per load. I use nearly 8 liters a day so the unit should pay for itself in about 2 months.
