Good light
Love this light. The battery last a long time on low mode. Very bright, carries easy, and doesn't get too hot on lower modes, but will fry your hand if you use it on turbo for an extended period of time.

Very Powerful and excellent quality
The high power mode is very bright and the sensor prevents burning you when it’s accidentally turn on in your pocket. The build quality is very nice feeling the metal build looks great. The little display is beyond helpful. The ability to select the setting before turning it on is super nice. It tells you how much time you have left on each setting. And the time on high power mode prevents you from burning your self from how much power it outputs. The lockout mode can be difficult to get undone if you are not expecting it but other that is an excellent product would highly recommend. Looking for compact bright flashlight this is the one for you.

Almost perfect flashlight…
This is an excellent EDC flashlight. It’s extremely bright maybe a little overkill on the brightness at highest setting. Only downside to this flashlight is the controls are a bit finicky with the half press/full press but once you get used to how it works it’s pretty easy to get used to it. I really like the status screen as you can see all the necessary information you need such as battery level, time remaining at a specific brightness and what brightness level you are at—even before you power it on. Very well made and very well packaged. Keeps charged for very long time and quick recharge.

Heed the reviews, the small switch does stop functioning over time.
Have to dock it a few stars, I have only had it a little over a year, and the switch failed exactly as described in other reviews, this "Half Click" to change brightness levels, no longer works. So stuck at super low, brilliant high, or strobe, no other light levels.

Awesome light.
I thought this light was very bright And very intuitive, however, I bought this for my father, who is a sheriff's deputy. He is still stuck on circular lights. So unfortunately, I had to return, but I would recommend this light.

Inconvenient flashlight
The light is bright but accidental lighting in your pocket is guaranteed to happen, which gets very hot. The lock feature is helpful, but getting the flashlight to lock and unlock is a big pain and takes forever. I have only had the flashlight 1 month and the buttons already don’t work, and unfortunately it is out of the return window. It’s a bright flashlight but the functionality of the buttons is pretty bad making it useless.

Failure after one month
Ok, so I'm a sucker for high quality flashlights and for almost $100 I thought this Nitecore EDC27 checked all the boxes however it fell short in a minor way and also a major way. It feels great, looks great, is crazy bright and the flat design is a winner for me as I am in need of light many times everyday and night living on a farm. Button setup is ok but I find myself accidentally activating the strobe because it's the same button as the short use turbo setting which is extra frustrating especially at night when for example going to end of driveway to check mail. Any cars on my road at the time get to see a ridiculously bright strobe from like a mile away. Hate that however I got over it because the rest of the light is so great. That's the minor issue. The major issue is after a month or so the regular function button started malfunctioning to the point where I can't even work it with my hand and end up smacking it on something to get the light need to not trip and fall on my face which is unacceptable in my opinion. I'm not easy on my lights but I don't baby them either and feel I did nothing to cause the button not to work and seriously this thing cost a total of $96 bucks and it's just crazy that quickly malfunctioned and I'll have to deal with the hassle of sending it back to repaired and prove it's a factory defect and jump through hoops to get it taken care of but unfortunately it seems like everything of low quality these days including crazy expensive flashlights. I likely won't buy another Nitecore product because of this which sucks but i just don't feel confident that taking a chance that another of their products wouldn't fail me like this one. Wouldn't recommend this flashlight unless the person is looking to spend a bunch of money on things that may or may not do what they are advertised to do.

Nice EDC geared towards self-defense
Nitecore are making some nice products these days. I’ve used their P20iUV for the last year and that’s a nice light. This one is the highest-end of their EDC (every day carry) line. It’s packed full of tech and has a digital display. Charged with USB-C. There are standard 4 levels: 15 lumens (55 hour runtime), 65 lumens (14 hour runtime), 200 lumens (4 hour 20 minute runtime), and the very bright 1100 lumens (1 hour 30 minute runtime). Then there are 2 special modes: 3100 lumen turbo mode (runtime is only about 10 seconds which is fine because it gets incredibly hot in this mode in just seconds) then there is always the Strobe mode which is always accessible by hard pressing the main button. And it’s an unusual strobe, it changes frequencies at random which is meant to add to the disorienting effect. And the strobe is done at 3100 lumen so it’s incredibly disorienting to the target. The light is a nice size, very sturdy, high build quality, has knurled grips on the sides and a belt clip, and is clearly meant to be a true EDC that could really be useful in an emergency.

With the recent incidents in my city and the fact I sometimes finish very late at work, I wanted a practical way to feel safer walking home. This Nitecore EDC27 UHi (3100 lumens) has been a fantastic purchase — it’s truly bright and surprisingly slim for how much power it puts out. I carry it with me to work and when I walk home at night. A police officer once mentioned they use very strong lights to deter attackers, and after trying this one out (my husband even tested it for me!), I can see why — the beam is intense and reaches far, which makes me feel a lot more confident on dark streets. The USB-C recharge is really convenient, so I don’t have to fuss with special cables, and the build feels solid — not bulky, so it fits in my bag or pocket without getting in the way. I also keep it at home given the recent break-ins in our area; it’s quick to grab and use if I need extra visibility. If you want something compact that actually performs like a full-size flashlight, this is it. Practical, powerful, and gives me peace of mind.
