Ross Henery Professional Japanese Style Premium Stainless Steel 9 Piece Chefs Knife Set

I know that these knife sets have had some mixed reviews but I love them. I cook a lot and have tried lots and lots of knife sets such as Sebatier, Zwilling, Judge etc and I really like these. Yes I have had knives that feel a little bit nicer in the handle and the balance is a tiny bit off but they are sharp as hell and just glide through anything I have tried them on so far (including my fingers, oops!). Outer box was a bit naff but the roll/canvas case they come in is nice and handy is space is limited in your kitchen. I absolutely love that each knife has a guard on them as my pet hate is my husband leaving knives higgly piggly in the kitchen drawer and this solves potential mishaps. There is a knife for every situation your could think and I think that most people will end up using a few main ones but there is enough choice here to keep anyone happy. Used them almost every day since they arrived and they are still looking in great shape and I'm very happy with them. The fact that they are Japanese Steel means that they should ensure that they stay sharp for longer so for anyone looking to get a whole knife set/upgrade your current set, I would absolutely recommend this set as it has some fab knives for a very good price.

comprehensive set of knives for food prep needs. They are sharp and sturdy. Not as heavy in the hand as some more expensive knives but this may be a good thing for some. Overall good quality, attravie and useful storage bag, a good buy at this price point. Recommended.

Excellent chef knife to use in chef kitchen and easy to use and easy to wipe knife off

bought as a early crimbo prescent for mum and partner as they both love cooking and really thing there the next materchefs problem being mum would burn pasta in a constant wet pan. great product and now have neen teaching them some strong knife skills

They are scuffed, and a bit uneven, their handles are hollow, but: That aside, I am not expecting a Global knife set when I am paying 50 pounds. I might not need to be as streamlined as some of these professional chefs writing reviews (wondering why they didn't go for an actual professional brand, I mean, if it's for their living *humour*), but I know how to take care of knives, and I'll tell you that for the five months I've had them: they have served me well. With a hollow handle, you just don't put angular pressure on the blade, and support along the blunt end when making harder cuts. They keep their sharpness very well, I have used every knife for pretty much every purpose: cutting cheeses, breads, salads, swede, plastic bottles (shame on me), and various meats including several whole chickens, ribs, too much to list, but the point is, these are tried and tested. I can't see how they'd rust unless you were a bit special. The box is tacky and blue, but it's a good thing that I didn't even have the box in mind when I made this order... The 'holder'/'case' which they come in is very useful and I prefer it to a block or a magnetic strip. TL;DR: Yes they are a bit scuffed, and look like factory rejects (a bit like some clothes in TK Maxx), but why I give them 4 and not 5 is because the 'fileting knife' is actually a utility knife. Which are a bit useless(!), nonetheless, good buy, and I would try them out for myself before taking the comments seriously, as their customer service is great! Actually, I'll give them a five to boost their rating. Poor guys.

Absolute cheap rubbish.. Cant believe just how bad they are.. Handles are a real cheap hollow affair. I usually buy online on the assumption that I'll keep whatever comes rather than return it but these really are so bad I'm going to return them. They also come in the tackiest blue cardboard box.

Oh wow! I have to say that these knives are so impressive! They are very professional and worth every penny. Bought as a gift and I know they are going to be loved. Very sharp so you have to be careful with them. So happy with my purchase.

Great value for money, good blades. However, NOT suitable for use in professional kitchens - Poor balance on the knives, handles very heavy, so when chopping quickly and under pressure the chances of a sharps injury is quite high. The knives are more suited for use at home.

Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist wirklich in Ordnung, denn wer sich auskennt, der weiß, dass ein wirklich gutes Einzelmesser deutlich teurer ist als dieses Set. Ein Spitzenkoch wird es sich daher sicher nicht bestellen, aber für den Hausgebrauch ist es gut und angemessen. Die Messer sind scharf, liegen gut in der Hand und Rost konnten wir nirgends entdecken. Die Tasche ist tatsächlich nicht so pralle, was uns aber herzlich egal war, da die Messer nach dem Gebrauch zurück in den Schrank gelegt werden und wir nicht damit rumlaufen. Wir nutzen die Messer in unserer Kita hauptsächlich bei Elternkochkursen und die sind alle hocherfreut über dieses Messerset (Allerdings ist auch keiner von ihnen ein Koch). Ich kann das Set daher nur empfehlen - zumindest allen Hobbyköchen und Elternkochkursen.

I bought these for my roommate for Christmas. He recently gotten a job at a fancy restaurant here in Seattle, and these knives allow him to keep up with his knife skills with his other kitchen teammates. He loves these knives. He says they're well balanced, and he can chop herbs for DAYS without his hands cramping up. The case is nice, but he'll probably be replacing it with a hard case once he gets the money to do so. Other than that, they sharpen nicely, they handle nicely, and overall, he's very happy with them. They'd make a great starter set for someone just starting out in the business, or someone who's main focus is prep.
