Baby needs to show signs of readiness such as being 6 months old, being able to sit upright with little- no support, baby can bring items to their mouth, they have lost the tongue thrust reflex.

can we use milk instead of water?

Yep - I do when the kettle water is too hot :) no drama at all (and have used left over bottle milk also!) he’s been eating this from 5 months, is now 10 months and still loves it!
