Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA, Omega-3 + Vitamin D3, Strawberry - 120 Count

Original Review: Curious to know if it was stored correctly or if it was a manufacturing error because my pills were all stuck together. Otherwise, it is a good product and I appreciate the easy-to-swallow gel size capsules. There is no after taste either and I like that it had Omegas.

I’ve been using mamas select products for nearly a month now and I’ve really enjoyed them. I’ve been taking the prenatal plus, DHA (strawberry flavored) and the prenatal probiotic. Something I appreciate about the DHA especially is the fact that it’s flavored and I don’t get the typical fishy burps when taking a fish oil supplement. Even though it’s strawberry flavored, I don’t even get strawberry burps. Something else that’s interesting is that usually urine will turn bright neon yellow from taking prenatal vitamins, but that doesn’t happen with mamas select vitamins. It’s comforting to know that what I’m taking is high quality and it’s what baby needs. The only thing is the DHA supplement does stick together, but it’s not usually a problem since a quick shake breaks them up.

Oh my gosh, this is the best fish oil I've ever taken. Fish oil is gross and I'm pretty sure most people don't want to be tasting concentrated oil after they've swallowed a pill. I always heard the suggestion to take fish oil pills at night so you don't have to deal with tasting fish burps. The strawberry flavor version of Nordic Naturals eliminates that need and you can take it any time of day. It's actually not unpleasant at all, although you will taste the strawberry flavor coming up now and then, but no fish. I don't like fish to begin with and I have horrible morning sickness, so this was an extremely important feature. I've tried plenty of fish oils in the past that have rosemary or something else added to try and mask the flavor, but I'd end up with rosemary-fish taste in my mouth which was pretty gag worthy. I was really surprised that the strawberry flavoring worked so well. The pills are smallish- though not as small as something like a krill oil pill. The shape of the pills is good and I've never had issues with one feeling like it gets stuck or I'm choking trying to take them. Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA fish oil pills passes the pregnant woman test. :)

Note: I’m not currently pregnant, but I’m preparing my body to hopefully get pregnant. I hate swallowing pills, but I’d much rather take medium pills versus horse pills. So my husband found me this option. I really like this version. I’ve been taking it for about a month now. I love the strawberry taste and the pills go down so easily. Also, I have a gluten allergy and have had no reaction to these. (which it states on the bottle that it doesn’t have gluten but sometimes you never know.) I would definitely recommend these, of course always talk to your doctor first. Mine highly recommend recommended the brand.

Nordic naturals provides a clean, organic and natural source of Omega 3 that aides with the visual and cognitive development of baby, and includes the daily recommendation of Vitamin D that helps support healthy bone development in baby. Nordic Naturals Omega 3 supplement is a smart choice if you're looking to add this form of supplement as an expectant mom. This is because there is currently a high vitamin D deficiency in the US, (40%-60% of the US population, which includes pregnant women according to the American Pregnancy Association) especially if you live in regions of the country or the world with very little natural sunshine at certain times of the year. I'm not a fan of artificial strawberry flavors, but it works really in this product and has actually a pleasant enough taste. I have not experienced any fishy burps, so I am not sure if there would be a strawberry after taste if and when it eventually occurs. The pills are small, easy to swallow, and are a good addition to a comprehensive prenatal vitamin.

Since these have a slight strawberry flavor there is no bad aftertaste. I like taking these for TTC!

Giving them 4 stars because they came all clumped together in the bottle and I have to stick my fingers in there and pick at them to get one out. Other than that, they are a nice small size pill, and the strawberry scent is a nice touch so they don’t smell fishy I like that.

So far so good. I dont know whether it is original or not but it tastes good. No odour.
