Very Well Designed, Easy Installation
Very well designed for easy installation. Good instructions and YouTube videos on installation available. I installed mine through brick masonry with no problem. I started from a height of 19" above the interior floor, and double checked that would equate to a height higher than 24" on the outside. Thoroughly checked the wall area for AC, pipes, studs and other hazards to avoid. I started from the inside with the included paddle bit, carefully cutting through the insulation so it wouldn't wrap up on the bit. I verified clearance and no obstructions, and then carefully centered and leveled a 1/4" diameter by 12" long masonry bit from the inside out to create a pilot hole through the brick with a hammer drill. Then with a 1" diameter by 14" long masonry bit drilled from the outside, the holes lined up perfectly. (No masonry bits are included with the kit) I didn't use PVC cement; I used a liberal amount of silicone caulk sealant on the fittings and around the exterior hole. I also put a bit of silicone sealant inside the 1/2" pvc pipe at the exterior. I purchased a heavy duty 25', 10-gauge cord with TT-30P (male) plug (also known as a RV plug, for campers) to match the 30 amp plug on generator, and had to buy a 4-prong L14-30 (female) plug for the other cord end to fit with this kit's plug L14-30 (male) plug. It would have been nice if the kit came with the option of a male TT-30P plug in the housing. **BE VERY CAREFUL WIRING THE PLUG. Also note the top row of outlets covers 15 amps and the bottom row covers 15 amps for the 30 amp total capacity that it can handle - that's important as how you coordinate your plugging in of appliances, etc. ** I bought this to use with a WEN 3800 generator after winter storm Uri in Texas, with 34+ hours with no power. With this simple setup it's worth the price you'd lose in food from your fridge/freezer, not to mention the other having power benefits. Overall I think it's a great little kit, although just a bit pricey.

Great Just Great
Installed EZ enough. DO NOT use the supplied drill bit. Go to the hardware and by a good one. The supplied drill bit will go through drywall BUT wood ? Nope it is NOT sharp enough. Good directions supplied. There are also install videos

Great option when a transfer panel or interlock kit costs too much
I picked up the Reliance "Through-The-Wall" power kit because this seemed to be the best option for my house, since my home is older and it would cost a lot to setup a transfer kit or an interlock kit & extend a power inlet box. While it would be nice & convenient to have my entire house/breakers available during an outage, I'm familiar with with just running the 'essentials' with extension cords using my EcoFlow Delta Pro solar generator. This Reliance power box will be used to get my Champion inverter generator power into the house, and help power my Delta Pro generator during an outage. The install was straight-forward and took about 20 minutes, with 5 minutes of that cleaning up the drywall & stucco mess after drilling through the wall. There's an install video on Youtube that walks you through the steps and that was a great help. I plugged my Delta Pro into the box and confirmed the outlets all work, so I can't wait to use this during our next outage (even though I'm not hoping for an outage). The one thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was because of the plastic power box, and how much it flexes when mounting it to an uneven surface like a stucco side. It would've been nicer if they used a metal box. When screwing the plastic box securely into the wall, the plastic box starts to flex quite a bit so I had to use washers behind the box to help level it with the stucco surface. The box is now secured and won't move, but knowing that the plastic housing is very flexible doesn't give me too much confidence for years of usage. I'll just make sure I'm gentle when plugging in my L14-30R cord into the box so I don't tweak or pop anything off the wall.

Clean Solution For Backup House Power, Easy Install
Some would think the Reliance Controls WKPBN30 Through-The-Wall Kit was a bit expensive, as did I, but it is a great solution for bringing backup power into the house, and after installing it, I was happy I spent the money. We used the kit to set up a backup power source in the house to which we could easily connect extension cords without leaving a door or window open. The final installation looks clean and professional. The 30 amp 4 contact connector from the generator fit perfectly in the outside housing and was locked in place with a slight twist. The instructions are excellent and easy to follow for the first-time DIYer. The inside six outlet wall plug has light to indicate that both of the 120V banks are active. Wiring the plug was simple, and the connector and wires fit easily inside the housing cover. There are some installation tips you should be aware of: 1) The outside wall in our installation was rough, uneven stucco, and we found that cutting the through tube flush with the wall, as the instructions stated, did not allow the wall unit to reach flush with the wall. We had to cut the tubing about 3/8' of an inch back off the wall line so the box would sit correctly against the wall. 2) On the inside wall, we mounted the outlet onto drywall. The instructions state to make a 1/4" hole to accept the provided drywall anchors. This is incorrect!. The holes should be 3/16" in order for the anchors to grip; otherwise, they spin in the hole. After making the 1/4" holes and discovering the issue, we used different types of anchors and different screws to attach the outlet securely to the wall. Even with those installation miscues, I think this is a great solution and give it five stars.

Highly recommended if you don't want to spend more on a certified electrician connecting your generator directly to the home's main power. This unit allows you plug in cords directly to the six outlets of this kit. Had a recent wind storm in Quebec that knocked out the power for 24 hours. Hooked up our generator to this on the exterior and it helped us get through the outage by only using what we needed. Was able to boil water, cook light meals using a portable stove. Had the surveillance cameras and pvr running to watch out for no-gooders. Even had a portable heater keeping us warm. And more. Installation wasn't that difficult. The hardest part was drilling through a wall with a brick exterior. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Great for the Do-It-Yourselfers.

I found this passive transfer outlet to be very rugged. All the parts fit well, and it is well designed. If you need to go further than just “through the wall,” you will need some ½” rigid conduit pipe and connectors etc, to extend the distance you need to go. The electrical connections are clear and easy to follow. This device is much simpler and affordable to take power from your generator cord into your house. Then you run extension cords from inside the house to different appliances etc.

Well put together product! For all the cost of providing it, I think 6 feet of wiring attached isn't out of the question. Many want to install this in their basement, and the wall passthrough wire length is not long enough to bring the receptacle down to a manageable height.

The product seems fine. It was delivered to the incorrect address though. Glad I have honest neighbours
