Excellent product. The picture is me igniting the magnesium with a blow torch that I also bought on Amazon.

Not easy to ignite, but not too difficult either.
This works great for it's intended purpose. I had to hit it a few seconds with a cooking torch for it to light, but it burns with a hot, white flame and will ignite high temperature substance you need it to.

Science class from the 1960's
This is very thin magnesium ribbon in a small spool. it's like the stuff they used in science class. It burns well and makes a great fire starter for campfires. A couple of coils and it burns hot and bright, makes the kiddo's happy.

Glows white hot
Exactly as advertised. Put a blow torch on a strand, and it’s going to glow so bright that you should not look at it. It is like looking into somebody who is welding.
