Scunci Black Gel Elastics, No Slip Grip, Strong Hold-Ponytailers, 14 Count (Pack of 1)

The Good: My hair is simultaneously super thick but also shiny/slippery (Asian hair that I don't use any heat appliances on and condition regularly). These hair ties somehow manage to grip my hair so that they stay on, but also don't pull my hair or hurt to take out (MAGIC). They are kind of rubbery feeling but also kind of satin-y to the touch. Before I found these hair ties I would have to re-tie my hair constantly, but now my ponytail can last all day if I want it to (including through physical activity). I see that some of the other reviewers say this tore their hair out, this has never happened to me! In fact, I think these might take out *less* hair than "normal" hair ties because these hair ties don't ever get tangled in my hair. Granted, I have very glossy hair (I don't even have to unwind them from my hair like some others said, I literally just pull to take them out). Some negatives: I like to keep my hair ties on my wrist, and these are just ever so slightly too tight to do that comfortably. They don't stretch out as quickly as other hair ties (although I take this to be a plus) so if you want to loosen them up enough to wear on your wrist comfortably it takes quite a bit of patience (this is what I do). As mentioned by other reviewers, the scunci name is engraved on them, and I have had these hair ties break on me. I also received one once (keep in mind I have purchased a lot of these, I lose hair ties constantly even though I try hard to hold on to these) that looked like there was an air "bubble" in the material, and after a handful of uses the hair tie snapped in that place. However, I don't think these hair ties break any more frequently than a comparable standard hair tie. With my thick hair I'm used to carrying around backup hair ties all the time for when they inevitably break, these I think break less often because I don't need to wind them as tightly since they grip so well. Even with some downsides, my opinion of a 5-star rating still remains because these hair ties basically changed my life. I wasn't paid to write this review or anything I just really love these hair ties.

I have longer hair and often put it in a pony tail and found these don't get tangled and collect hair like alot of elastic bands do but I none of the grocery stores in my area carries these or anything like them.

What's to know: PROS --*very* stretchy but returns to original diameter unlike other pontailers on the market today, especially China where the rubber is JUNK --I happen to wear a helmet frequently for motorsports and these are one heck of alot more "squishier" and comfortable in place than the typical recycled rubber ponytailers available today --thinner gauge (width of elastic band) with same "retainability" of hair in place --siicone rubber is MUCH more UV resistant to breakdown esp if you spent alot of time on the beach etc CONS --have to pull them out much more carefully, their super-flexible characteristic makes them tangle in hair MUCH easier --thinner gauge (width of band) makes me wonder if they'll eventually separate sooner than typical ponytailers of traditional rubber materials (remains to be seen tho) --wish they came in more colors than black--like browns Overall, a great buy but if you have fine hair like me, slow down when taking them out more carefully. Otherwise you'll be "singing saprano" you never knew you had before! ha ha

These are awesome! They’re perfectly stretchy to wear on wrist as bracelet when not in use, and they hold my hair back all day without tugging or pulling! I bought three packs! Highly recommend!

3 pack of silicone hair ties. Used to buy these in store but haven't been able to find any anywhere, so grateful they are here in Amazon! I use them with other hair ties for my super thick, super heavy hair. But these in particular are so helpful to prevent slipping!

This just works; doesn't stretch out, holds its own on runs and best of all its soft to touch. A new one out of the pack does pull the hair a little but putting some oil on it fixes that right away. Worth the buy.

Love, love, love these hair ties. These are the only hair ties that don’t fall out of my daughter’s hair when dancing.
