Ethique Eco-Friendly Gradual Tanning Bar, Bombshell 2.29 oz

Yes, it gives you an immediate sun-kissed look. Yes, it does not smell like all these tanning products right away .. it'll take until much later for that smell to develop and it is not as strong. Unfortunately, the bar literally melt away and is so incredibly greasy that it takes forever to absorb into the skin. Even though this seems like a great alternative, it is way too expensive for way too little use & effect.

Works just like bottled self tanner (I had previously used Neutrogena) but without the plastic. I was already used to using normal lotion bars so that probably helped me with application, but you definitely don't need to much which might take some getting used to and the color builds. I found the shade was natural and not orange-y. Will replace bottled self tanner as part of my summer routine.

I love the concept of this elf tanner with ingredients and packaging and I think if some of the ingredients were tweaked that the tan from this would last longer, but compared to my bottle alternatives it gives you a glow for a day or so. For the price and longnevity, I wouldn’t buy it again. Maybe if they added more DHA or less oil based ingredients? Or even a bamboo or hemp biodegradable package so that the formula was more absorbable. It is a bit tacky but soaks in after a while, but not very good for sensitve facial skin in my opinion. I love the whole rest of this line but was disappointed in this self tanner.

This bar doesn't really tan me at all, and I have extremely fair skin. Has an orangy tint to it and shimmer, so not a very flattering color either. It is moisturizing but is also hard to get an even application. I would not recommend to anyone.

Love love love everything from ethique but this ain’t it. It looks, smells, and feels like exactly like oil pastels. It doesn’t soak into you skin even hours later even with minimal amounts used. doesn’t tan most areas but will leave random patches of orange. I tried using it so many different ways and waited till the bar is practically gone before writing this review cause I want to like it so bad and was hoping I cold just a find some nifty trick to make it magically work. I do hope they’ll try again and not give up cause the idea is great.

This product is very nice! I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing and I will say that if you use less than you think you need as the instructions say it works great and a tiny amount goes a long way!!!

Read the reviews but decided to try it anyway. It melts really fast! So if you hold it like the directions say, you’ll get more on your hands. I held it with the paper it was wrapped in and put it on my legs (after exfoliating) and got a smooth even tan. It was gooey/sticky for a while but it didn’t come off on my clothes. I’d buy it again!

I loved the ease of putting this on. I was disappointed with the low amount of color and how many applications it took before it was gone.
