These work great!
The plug in mosquito magnet works flawlessly! I have both a plug in and a battery operated mosquito magnet, the battery operated one is not as reliable as the plug in one. The plug in one fires up right away every time even after a power failure. The battery operated one sometimes, most times has to be restarted 3 times before it starts to work. I like mosquito magnet’s they work! But if I’m going to spend almost $1000 for a batter Operated one of around $ 400.00, for a plug in from now on I’ll buy a plug in and run an extension cord if I have to.

Huge Buying Mistake
Spring 2024: Stored properly all winter. Now will not operate. On Start Up, seems to start normally then after a bit, the light goes to Fast Flash again. Called Tech Support. Turns out I needed to buy CO2 cartridges and an adapter ($80!) to 'blow out' the unit after each propane tank change. Can find NOTHING in the Owner's Manual or online about that. Bought the Adapter and Cartridges. Didn't halp. Now I'm waiting (2 hours so far) for Tech Support to return my phone call. UPDATE: Customer Service finally responded and they did give me a Free Shipping Label to send it in for service. Diagnosed as clogged with carbon because I had not used the C02 cartridges to flush the system last Summer and when storing for Winter. DUH!!! There is nothing that tells me I should have done so! At least they are again repairing the unit under warranty - after I had to prove date of purchase. THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER: Shipped back for service again. Two weeks later, unit returned AND STILL DOESN'T WORK. Same problem, starts then goes to Fast Flash. Corporate Customer Service of no help. Refuse to replace the unit, wanted me to ship it a THIRD TIME to a DIFFERENT Service Station. Called the original Service Station, they say it had worked normally for 50 hours in their shop. Suggested the ONLY possible problem could be a bad Power Supply. Called corporate again, they FINALLY agreed to send me a new Power Supply Unit. We shall see. MORE TO FOLLOW.FALL 2023 ADDED: In use for over a month now and I am not sure it does much of what it is supposed to do. Very few insects are in the trap. We DO have fewer No-See-Ums it seems, but I'm not sure that is due to cooling weather or this thing finally taking effect. Let the return window close or I might have returned the damn thing. Called Tech Support, they had me send the unit back for service. Told it had a small problem they fixed, by return date, weather had cooled and mosquitos had ceased to be an issue. Stored for Winter.

Finally replaced my Liberty 1 units after 20 years with this. Neat!
I have been using Mosquito magnets since they came out, one of my units has a 2001 date on the burner, so they have been around for awhile. But those are finally getting to the point of hard to find parts, so I decided it was time to replace one with the new model.First thought: Easy to assemble! The base is simpler, which is fine, the unit is stable, and it went together in about 3 minutes.Second thought: Very big net box and excellent airflow routing. The old Liberty had a smaller net and I don't think its fan was as good. This one has excellent airflow and when I hooked it up to a propane tank it started right up.Third thought: It works! I let it run overnight without any lures (other than a UV lamp) and this morning the net had a nice little bounty of small and large mosquitoes. And a few small moths. What I have learned over the decades is putting a small bug zapper on the ground under the intake attracts mosquitoes very well. Putting it low keeps the zapping of beneficial insects to a minimum and does the job of bringing mosquitoes into the area of the trap. Once there the carbon dioxide/water vapor convinces them to go into the trap where they get sucked up into the net.Oddly enough a black plastic garbage bag also seems to attract them. Go figure. The pictures show the catch after 12 hours of runtime including overnight.Anyway, I put in an Atrakta pouch (The dynatrap one) and will see how it does with the annoying Asian tiger day mosquitoes this evening. But it does seem to be working well, we shall see how it's doing in 20 years... :-)1 week update: I put the lure in, and there are so many brown mosquitoes flying around in there! I need to get another net so I can pull one out, let them die, and empty it while the second net catches more.Impressive design.
