Great Product
Our dog loves these yak chews! They keep him entertained for a long time and provide a satisfying chew that helps keep him occupied. We like that they are a more natural option compared to many other treats, and they don’t leave much of a mess around the house. They’ve become one of his favorite chews and are a great way to keep him busy and happy. We love that they can be microwaved into a different treats once they become a choking hazard.

Finally a REAL long-lasting chew!!!
My dog is a power chewer, the kind that can actually finish bully bones if given enough time. Luna (my dog) is not a playful gnawer – she's the kind who attacks hard bones with such intense focus that it's a wonder she hasn't cracked a tooth yet. I've been looking for a chewing treat that can keep her busy if I need her not to bother me for a while (i.e. for homework or a work call). I've tried at least a dozen different chews that claim to be "long lasting," but none of them has kept her busy for more than 10 minutes, maybe 20 if she goes slow. Even rawhide-type chew treats disappear impossibly quickly. But she *loves* these yak chews, and they last crazy long! It took her at least 1.5 hours to finish each one – they're awesome!!! And that's only counting concentrated chewing time...it occupied her for over 2 hours if you count the breaks she took. Luna seemed to be a big fan of them. Since she's around 45 lbs, I bought the medium chews. Most of the treats I've tested out are cheaper than these. But all of those treats have also claimed to be "long-lasting," and none of them has lasted more than 10 min or so. Since Luna chews with such enthusiasm, I like thinking about the cost of treats in terms of chew time. Before these, the best treats I'd found cost me $10 for every hour of chew time (they were small, flavor-coated rawhide twists that came in a 12-pack for $14 and took her 7-8 min each to destroy). In comparison, the 3-pack of yak chews only cost me around $3.50 per hour of chew time. Much better!!! Almost 3x more value, much nicer for my student budget. These chews have been seriously helpful...before finding them, it's not like I could give Luna 5 of those rawhide twists to keep her busy for an hour...terribly unhealthy. If I needed to work undisturbed, I had to see if my neighbors could watch her or go to the library. But now I can use one of these yak chews to keep her distracted for 90+ minutes! Will definitely be keeping them stocked from now on. Note: I also bought the XL chews to try. If your dog sounds like Luna (45 lbs, champion of chewers, etc), I would recommend the medium chews. For whatever reason, she seemed much more inclined to hide the XL chews somewhere safe instead of chewing them right away. They only kept her attention for 10-15 minutes at a time...she kept stashing it under a blanket on her bed and going back to it later. It was clear that she still liked it, but if your goal is to buy a treat that occupies your pup for one long sitting, medium is the size that does that for Luna.

A bit disappointed in our most recent order.
**update 11/15** Native Pet reached out directly and offered a full refund. I appreciate that they took my feedback seriously and took steps to resolve the issue. We love Native Pet and have gotten several other products that our pup not only enjoyed but also all did what they say they do. Native Pet does make high quality goods for pets and we will continue to be customers. I did not enjoy writing my 3 star review but I wanted to make sure that the brand that we love was aware we didn’t get what we were expecting for the first time in over a year of purchasing. I’m upping my review to 4 stars, but please know that these yak chews are seriously amazing if you can ensure you get the right size for your dog!! —Prior review— Before our most recent order I would have given these 5 stars. We have been buying these yak chews since we adopted our rescue girl in July 2022. These are by far the best “bones” we have been able to find since they are fully edible and can transform into crunchy treats when they get to the end of their life, and they do not upset our baby’s tummy. We love these and have the 3 pack on auto ship. However, our most recent order received on 11/9 is a disappointment. We originally bought the medium chews when we first got our dog because she is medium sized and 45-50lbs, but she turned out to be a big chewer. The medium were too small for her and she was able to bite off large chunks and go through them too fast. We switched to the large which have always been thicker and just a little bit longer so she went through them a little slower and couldn’t get as many big chunks off. Our 11/9 order contained what appears to be the same size as the medium chews, which we don’t get anymore for the reasons stated above. I added a photo of what we received next to pieces left from our prior order. You can clearly see the pieces from the prior order are thicker (circled in green). I didn’t spend $28 to get medium sized yak chews. I understand they can all be slightly different sizes even within the same package, and we sometimes get thicker/thinner/darker/lighter chews, but these are just very SMALL compared to the other large chews we’ve received over the past year. It seems strange that I would suddenly need to start purchasing the extra large chews to get the same substantial size as the large ones I was getting before, unless there’s been a change in the product design itself. I really hate leaving negative reviews. I prefer to only leave reviews when I have a great experience because I think it’s important to share those things rather than complain. If I really have an issue, I usually reach out to the seller if I can. In this case, I can’t find a way to contact the seller to ask if there was a change in the product or if this was an error but I guess I can go through an Amazon customer service rep if needed. This product can’t be returned which is typical of food-like items, but I would like to know why this order seems so inconsistent from what we’ve gotten in the past.

Our Frenchie loves these!
Our 7 month old French Bulldog loves these! They have helped her through teething and help so she doesn't chew up as many things around the house. She looks forward to the ritual each morning after breakfast of finding a good spot to chew on her Yak chew.

My Doodle loves them!
5 year old Mini Labradoodle & picky, overly protective owners review: These Yaks are helpful as I try to stimulate my smart and spunky doodle as much as possible for her energy levels and her love to chew. She destroys toys easily as she likes to gnaw at one area repeatedly, if yours is similar these help! Good for teeth cleanliness and strengthening. They seem hard, but I’ve had no issues and there’s a trick when it gets too small to heat it up. She loves the taste and gets very excited for them, a high value treat time. Value is better with the 3 pack I purchased, but next time would opt for the bigger bag. She has 3 missing teeth to her front side due to a previous accident with chipping them and needing them surgically removed, so I was reluctant, but no issues here so far. The noise of her chewing sounds worse than any issues caused (sounds hard). I recommend! If any issues present will update if possible on app. Love that they are more natural than alternatives and don’t smell like bully sticks. Last a while in distracting - occupying her. Picture added for size reference of medium option.

Cracked and dangerous
I was upset because I googled a bunch of reviews about different yak chews.. I had used the original Himalayan chews in that bright yellow bag and my dog loved them.. they also were able to be chewed down without splintering or cracking off. I wanted to try other brands to see if there was something better and I saw good google reviews on this product. But this brand is extremely dry and hard so the second my dog started chewing I heard cracking and splintering and then it caused him to vomit pieces of the chews in the morning. They did not digest like it says they would. There had been 10 hours between his last time chewing them and I could still recognize chunks and splinters of the chew. Hopefully it doesn’t injure his stomach because they were like quarter sized chunks or hard cheese. He even tried to chew a piece he threw up before I could get him away and I could hear the snapping and cracking of the piece.. So it was a complete waste of money.. I have been able to soak the chew in very hot water for 10-20 minutes and then I’ll give it to him for a little bit and then once he gets past the soft parts, it starts cracking again. Sucks that these are pretty expense and it’s such a hassle to use.. they are dangerous so I’m not going to give them to him anymore. Just ordered the original brand and then I might also try the EcoKind sticks too because they had good reviews. I would not recommend these one though.

Little to large for small breeds and very very hard.
Very hard and it is long lasting as the small breeds have trouble with it likely due size as well as hardness. Our pulp comes back to it once every two days or so but does not stay after it for more than 5 minutes or so. Tried the suggestions on the website and AI to soften somewhat but did not have much luck with that. Item is exactly as described though.
