My son is 11, we just had his hair professionally bleached to an icy blonde and so we got this for him and he loves it. The scent is nice and his hair feels nice when it is in. It doesn't make his hair feel like too much product is in his hair. He used 5 sprays bc he likes his hair to lift up on the sides a bit (messy style/bed head I call it, lol). So, it looks like we will be reordering again when this bottle is finished! (Oh, he got this instead of the Based powder. That one is great too. You only need a tiny bit for it to work! It just depends on the look u are going for it prefer bc both are great products in my opinion).

Based Bodyworks sea salt spray is a solid product that adds texture and volume with a natural, matte look, especially for straight or slightly wavy hair. It feels lightweight and does what it’s supposed to, but it’s not anything special compared to cheaper alternatives. Like most sea salt sprays, it can dry your hair out if you use too much, and a lot of its popularity comes from social media hype. Overall, it’s good—but more like a 7/10 product than the “must-have” it’s made out to be.

My young teen son loves this sea salt spray. It gives his thick hair the texture he wants without feeling greasy. He also appreciates that it is made with clean ingredients. (I'm thinking stocking stuffer!)

I’ve tried a few sea salt sprays over the years, and this is one of the few that genuinely delivers on what it promises. It’s definitely on the pricier side compared to some alternatives, but the results have been worth it for me. I have naturally straight hair and use this on damp hair before drying with a diffuser. The combination works brilliantly for creating texture, waves, and a much fuller look. It gives my hair a natural beachy finish without making it feel stiff, crunchy, or sticky, which is something I’ve experienced with cheaper products. What I like most is that the hold feels natural. Your hair still moves normally and doesn’t look overloaded with product. The trade-off is that it isn’t the strongest hold throughout the day, especially in windy conditions. If I know I’ll be outside for long periods or the weather isn’t great, I’ll usually add a light hairspray afterwards for a bit of extra staying power. A little goes a long way, the scent is pleasant without being overpowering, and it washes out easily at the end of the day. Overall, if you’re looking to add texture, volume, or enhance waves and curls without the sticky feeling that many styling products leave behind, this is an excellent option. It costs a bit more, but the quality and results justify the price.
