I am a garden girl. I LOVE plants. I spend all sorts of time in my flowers and gardens that when winter hits, it is very hard on me. Trying to find plants that I can nurture inside that will actually grow is not easy. That is why I got this. DOES IT COME WITH ALL YOU NEED? This does come with all of what you need to grow plants in this planter, sort of. You will need a USB port of 5W to plug in the power cord. SIZE This planter is tiny. I am a long time gardener. This is as small as the planter pots that we get for some of the plants that we transplant into our garden. The key is TRANSLPLANT. This pot will only grow herbs for a few months then it is time to transplant them and start over if they survive. The top light, however, can make it difficult to remove the plant from the container at that point. LIGHT The light is adequate for basic growth. I use this near a window so I don't have to rely solely on the LED lights for growth. MOUNTING I am using the shelf light on the wall of the cabinet near a window. That will be mounted and stable. I did find that this does not stay put very well on my refrigerator, however. GROWTH As I said, this may go up 12 inches, but the plants quickly outgrow this pot. Basil is only good a few months and then I have to start over. Thyme is a little better, but again, don't expect the same kind of growth you get in a small pot. These are tiny. It is fun for a bit but then when the plant outgrows the container, be ready to replant or start over. THE BOTTOM LINE This is a good planter if you want to enjoy a couple of months of herbs or small plants. It won't do well long term and is a bit frustrating with cords running down and trying to mount using magnets. MY RATING THREE STARS. This is high priced and honestly I am not sure it is worth the price for what you get. You have to have room to plug this in with a USB outlet and have cords running to it. I like it, but I don't LOVE it. Perhaps the larger one would be a little better. This one is really small.
