Maui Moisture Volume Boost + Bamboo Fibers & Aloe Vera Shampoo, with Castor & Neem Oils, for Hair That Needs a Lift, Strengthens & Revitalizes, Sulfate & Silicone Free, Vegan, 385ml

My hair type: Scandinavian. Thin, dry, brittle, easily greasy and with natural waves. Hair washing cycle: Every other day. I purchased this shampoo after a favourite of mine dropped off the face of the earth (Happy Naturals, thickening shampoo with ginger and sugar cane). I have washed my hair with this twice now, and I think the results for my hair are pretty good. It has elevated my roots slightly, which is great because I sweat a lot through my scalp which results in overall greasiness. It hasn't helped so much that I could go more than a full day without washing my hair, though. I would like to note that this shampoo makes your hair really dry. As you rinse the product from your hair it feels like your hair is left in a big lumpy knot, and for this reason you should strongly consider using a conditioner after each wash. Personally, as dry as my hair is, I have to condition three times; A conditioner in the shower to be washed off, a leave-in conditioner for the brushing after, air dry and use leave-in conditioner again to tame frizzle and crunch my natural waves into order. The scent of this shampoo is quite extraordinary. The name Maui brings in mind Hawaii, things like bamboo and aloe vera seem quite exotic, but the scent reminds me of a pine forest in the morning just after rain. Pretty specific, I know, but I can clearly imagine it in the shower if I close my eyes. The scent lingers around you for a long time after the shower too, especially if you use the thickening conditioner as well, and I like it. The only negative thing I can find is that I do need to use quite a lot of the product. When you start massaging it in it gets harder to reach your roots because your hair starts to "clump up" and I have to reach for an other dollop or two to finish up, but bringing your head briefly under the shower and bringing some water into the hair helps with distributing the shampoo a little. This shampoo is quite a lot pricier than what I'd usually pay for a shampoo, but it really does seem worth it. The bottle is big and even though I wash my hair every other day, and use quite a bit of the product, I don't think I need to buy more than a bottle a month.

On a random stroll through Boots, I had seen this shampoo on sale for £1.50 (I needed a temporary shampoo to take to a lodge stay in place of my usual shampoo) so I thought I would give this a try. What caught my eye was firstly the reduced price (as it seemed too good to be true) and secondly that it had no sulphates, parabens or silicone AND it had neem, castor oil and bamboo which is such a powerful combination to achieve a beautiful head of hair. As an Indian lady that has thick black hair, I was curious. It is advertised as for those whose hair needs a lift. I will be honest, the first time I used it, it left a heavy greasy type of look to my hair but when I googled a few other reviews of people having the same outcome, some said doing a double wash and leaving it in for long enough achieved the perfect look, so I did this, it lathered up quite nicely and the second time I was stunned at how amazing the results were. It came out feeling silky and volumized. You need to blow dry correctly to get the desired look as well. Oddly for subsequent washes I have not needed to do any double washes and the results are AMAZING each and every time. I have now converted to a Maui fan and ditched my previous brand!!!

I absolutely love the formula and scent of this shampoo. It lathers really well and you don't need loads to wash your entire head (I have thick hair almost to my elbows) and I feel like it really leaves your scalp feeling nice. I've had a few compliments on how nice it smells, too. I'm just not sure how effective the 'thickening' was. I already have quite thick hair, but have recently lost a lot so was looking to help boost it with this. I haven't noticed anything significant, so I'm not sure if it actually works or if it's just not suited to my hair type. Either way, I do really like the shampoo!

Always my go to shampoo and conditioner for a man of my age and thinning years. It is a superbe combination. Arrived quickly and in good delivery, well package.

This smells lovely! It's a strong scent which is not super sweet. I've had people commenting on my hair and people have even bought this brand because of it. I previously used the Agave one but wanted a change (the smell while amazing, is a lot stronger and noticeable than the bamboo one, which is more simple, but still a lovely smell). I've now been using this brand for about 6 months and I shower every other day, my hair is medium length and thickness and I've only bought 2 lots so far, so it lasts a while. I just love it!! The only negative which I had to begin with was that the bottle is so sturdy I struggled to squeeze out the conditioner. But either I've gotten used to it, or its weakened from using it, because I don't have that problem anymore. (If you have this problem you can jusy unscrew the lid and pour it out) And it takes some time to lather up the shampoo, but it's not that much longer than shampoos I've used in the past. I'll never go back, I love this brand!

I bought this on recommendation. My Ma swears by Maui hair products, so I figured I give the stuff a try. I have long hair (over shoulder length) but it is thin and quite weak (after years of killing it with several colors of peroxide) and I am searching for a shampoo/conditioner combo to thicken it and add volume. This variety I bought claims to do that. Thicken and volumize. It don't. It cleans and conditions and it smells nice, forest fresh. Lathers well. You have to use a generous amount with each wash to really get the aroma benefit however as the bamboo is very subtle. I can only recommend it as a cleanser though since the alleged thickening effects didn't happen for me.

Less hair lost and get smooth. I brought during discount and this product always out of stock at my nearby department store

I love this shampoo. It's made such a difference to my hair making it feel thicker and stronger. My sister loves it too so I have reordered it for her.

Les cheveux sont plus soyeux et ont davantage de volume. Je le conseille vivement !

Assèche les cheveux donc on perd le bénéfice du petit volume généré si on applique un après shampooing.

Mi ero trovata molto bene con il balsamo di questa linea e così ho preso anche lo shampoo. Devo dire che è un ottimo prodotto, ne basta poco per lavare i capelli perché è molto denso. Ha un buon profumo fresco ed i miei capelli grassi rimangono puliti per 1/2 giorni in più . Sicuramente lo ricomprerò.

Habe das Mauishampoo jetzt bis zur leeren Flasche genutzt, jetzt kann ich es bewerten: Das Shampoo schäumt gut auf, säubert das Haar gründlich und hat einen sehr angenehmen Duft. Ich benutze ein Föhnspray ins handtuchtrockene Haar, dann läßt sich das Haar sehr schön mit einer Rundbürste in Form bringen. Meine Haare fühlen sich kräftig und gut strukturiert an. Werde noch eine weitere Flasche bestellen, um zu testen, ob meine Haare weiter so kräftig und griffig bleiben. Für mich bis jetzt ein wirklich gutes Shampoo!
