PetSafe Big Cat Flap - Interior & Exterior Pet Door - 4-Way Lock & Soft Close Flap - For Cats & Small Dogs

This seemingly inexpensive flap was fitted into my new UPVC back door. The fitter commented on what a nice simple yet quality item it was. It didn’t look much out of the box but it’s a good size, sturdy once fitted and nice solid basic controls. The cats love it being that bit bigger and it’s frankly it’s beneath them squeezing through a standard one. They love the big porthole and spend a lot of time just looking out. Good buy, can fully recommend.

I'm not sure where this sits within the cat flap hierarchy or even if such a thing exists but this is a functional and few frills example of a cat flap. It was delivered quicly and packaged well. It comes with installation instructions and a printed template for the door or wall cut out. All the components were present including three different lengths of screws and a "Tunnel extender" to fit your door thickness. The instructions are easy to follow and typically it can be installed within an hour. There is a "bravery" moment when you make the first cut or drill hole in your door but you're commited once you start. The locking system is very simple, allow traffic in or out, both ways or locked from both directions. Its not made of the most robust materials as it is constructed from a moderately thick plastic but honestly it seems sufficient for its task. You will get a slight draft through the slight gap around the flap, the brush strip is intended to mimimise this but there is only so much it can do. The operation of the flap isn't particularly loud and the magnet is sufficient to prevent it flapping in the wind. The template does have you cut a larger hole than is strictly necessary but it does allow you to adjust the fit slightly to ensure it is level. Over all it is exactly as advertised, a simple cat flap at a reasonable price, my cat doesn't use it unless I hold it open for her but that is because she expects the door to be opened and closed on demand and will not lower herself to use a flap.

We purchased this to replace an old, broken Staywell Cat and Dog catflap. It went into the space of the old flap perfectly but was much easier to fit than the old one. It seems sturdy. It has a clear flap unlike the old slightly frosted version and the cats prefer it. The in/out and open/shut mechanism is far easier to use. The magnet gives a slow close and doesn't shut on tails. We are all very happy with the purchase.

Replacing an older version due to having new door fitted. Very sturdy and well made . Easy to follow installation instructions. Fits and looks good once in place . 4 way locking which is handy . Silent magnetic lock so doesn't frighten the cat once it swings back in to place . I'm very happy with it so far. My cat Bella has no complaints. She happy now as she can come and go at her pleasure. The old one was blocked up due to it falling to bits it was that old !!! . At last she has her freedom back.

Good for our large cat who slips through with ease when not coming through patio his preferred method. Fitted two can be tricky but got there in end.

After our cats snapped the third door off of their regular sized cat flap, we decided they needed a bigger door. Our cats are 8.5kg each and not fat. Just big. Previously they would squeeze through a smaller door pushing upwards to squeeze through which snapped the hinges. This door is a much better size and they go in and out far easier now. Installation was straight forwards - just stuck the template to the door over the top of the existing hole and used a jigsaw to extend it. The door feels a little cheap - particularly the tunnel extender which is just two pieces of plastic which I duct taped to the door to offer some weather resistance (you can't see the duct tape when installed) and the magnetic catch is different to previous doors making it occasionally not swing shut but overall a good door and big improvement for our cats.

Produit de qualité est conforme à mes attentes. Installée assez facilement (environ 01H00) sur une porte alvéolaire d'intérieur amenant à une loggia. Produit largement assez grand pour mon chat de 7kg et l'autre de 5kg.Ils vont et viennent comme ils veulent , bien qu'il a fallu un peu plus d'entraînement les deux premiers jours. Par contre, j'ai ôté l'aimant ! Aimant bien pratique car elle reste fermée en cas de prise d'air seulement les chats ont tendance à ne pas trop insister...

A distanza di anni posso dire che è stata un'ottima scelta. Il gatto è libero di uscire ed entrare quando vuole e non dobbiamo lasciare aperta sempre la porta finestra. Materiali resistenti e per non dover forare un vetro lo abbiamo solo sostituito con del plexiglas...più facile da forare e più economico.

Leicht anzubringen. Wurde von allen meinen bisherigen Katzen schnell akzeptiert und wird gerne genutzt als perfekter Freiheitsbegleiter für Freigänger.

Buen tamaño. Mis gatos son de los grandes(9kg)y entran perfectamente. Buscaba uno que fuera de buen tamaño por lo mismo. Este lo es. En mi caso lo tengo puesto en un muro pero no he comprado alargadores para el tubo. He alisado bien las paredes y he puesto en los extremos los embellecedores que trae. Tenía miedo de que los gatos no quisieran pasar por lo largo del túnel pero se han acostumbrado y pasan perfectamente. Uno de ellos bien, al otro le impone un poco lo de empujar la puerta,pero poco a poco lo va haciendo. La puerta se cierra lentamente y sin hacer ruido, cosa que había oído que para otros era un problema porque los gatos se asustaban. No es el caso.
