Prone to tipping over, count-up feature is nice
The current listing is confusing, does it now include 2 devices? Originally it was like 15 bucks for a single unit, which seemed a little overpriced but that would be great if it was now a 2 pack.Overall it works as advertised, if you can get one that works. I got 2 and one didn't work out of the box, had to exchange it but the new one worked. I like that you can do either count-down or count-up, which is nice for time awareness when I'm trying to avoid getting sucked into something longer than I realized (like sitting in the bathroom on my phone).Physical buttons are nice, and the dial is satisfying to use. The unit is a bit front-heavy however, with a pretty flimsy kickstand so it tips over at the slightest nudge.

Good, Basic Design
I actually got two of these timers since I was going to be away from home after my second eye surgery. I got another one to take with me and got the same timer as I liked the first one so well. Here's my review from the first one that still holds up today: I was getting eye surgery which required numerous drops, several times a day. They had to be spaced 5 minutes apart, so I needed a portable timer to help with the process. It took a while, but I landed on this. And it was a good choice. It was simple to learn. Large buttons that I could operate with my eyes closed. It was easy to set and even has a memory, so that it automatically set to 5 minutes when I turned it on. The notification alarm was loud, especially if you are sitting right by it. That's not a negative feature, just an observation. I took off one star as the stand is not sturdy enough to hold the timer upright. The slightest movement knocked it over. That didn't matter for me, for the purpose of my eye drops. However, for future uses, it may become an issue. For now, it does it's job and it does it well.

Pretty nice, very LOUD and BIG DIGITS on the display!
I ordered "Digital Kitchen Timers, Visual timers LED Display Magnetic Count UP/Down Timer for Classroom" for use while cooking in the kitchen and on the grill. It included the two needed AAA batteries, which is awesome! It has a little folding stand which gives it a decent angle and stability, and has a magnet on the back that can stick it on a magnetic vertical surface. Unfortunately it will not stick to any of my stove, microwave, or front of fridge; so I will not get much benefit from the manget other than to park it on the side of the fridge when not using it.The instructions are pretty good, though I've already lost them since I don't plan on hanging on to paperwork for all my purchases. Instead, a product that is intuitive in its use is what I want. This timer has a twist knob which I don't really care for; but I will probably get used to it (thus, the 4-star rating). It has a button to quickly add 5 minutes at a time, but you can not adjust by individual minutes if you use it. If you want any non-multiple-of-five, then use the twist knob. Push knob twice to turn on. Once to select minutes (then dial in); once again to select seconds (dial in your desired seconds); then once again to stop or start. Basically, if you push the knob once and or twice, you can get what you want. Press the reset button to start over. Or, after the time is up and you cancel the alarm sound, you can run it again for the prior-selected time by simply pushing the knob again. The alarm tone is very loud like a smoke detector and would be good in a loud environment or for the hearing impaired. The display is large and bright white. Overall I think it is a very good unit, but I like buttons better than knobs in this case.

Now, Wildly Happy With This Timer
UPDATE: 7/31/2024I have increased my rating to 5 stars because after my initial review, the seller got in touch with me, expressing disappointment that the product had gotten such a rating. They stated that the product had been improved and would send the new and improved version. Well, I can say it is MUCH better! Now, there is no light bleed-through from lighted segments to non-lit segments. The magnet is much stronger and stays exactly where you put it without falling. The stand is MUCH easier to open. And the casework, buttons, and knob look great, not cheap like before.Setting up countdown time is the same but truly it's not bad, thinking better of the entire package.I want to sincerely thank the seller for their stellar customer service. I had no expectation that this seller would reach out to share their vastly upgraded timer with me. I am wildly satisfied with the new and improved timer, and with a seller that goes extra miles to make certain their customers are happy.Absolutely excellent customer service and an important, easily duplicatable lesson for everyone tasked to wildly satisfy customers!Original Review:Like others, I wanted this for the kitchen. But the non-intuitive and clunky workings, the horrible display, and the wimpy magnet make this a marginal kitchen tool at best.I'll start with the horrible display which I can't stand. The problem with the display (at least, with mine) is that there is light bleed from the lit segments to the non-lit segments. Now I'm not talking 1%, it's more like 50%. See picture. This makes reading the darned thing very, very frustrating. With better design and assembly, it didn't have to be this way.Getting your time into the machine should be easy but it's not: Hold "On" button to turn it on, turn to the number of minutes you'd like, press the "On" button again, turn to the number of seconds you'd like, hold "On" button to start the timer. And as someone else said, you can't adjust the timer midstream, you have to stop the timer and delete the current timer setting, then start all over again.Regarding the magnet, this timer has fallen off metal objects more than once. And to add, the whole thing is very cheap-looking. Oh, ANd good luck getting the stand out into its proper stand position. It's a wrestling match that you might win (or not, quitting in frustration) but your fingernail won't.In my opinion, this is a cheaply designed and made timer. Much better can be had for around the same price.

Digital Kitchen Timer with LED display
This digital kitchen timer is a little hard to use because of how the dials are too close together. the size doesn't feel as ergonomic when you're holding it than if you stick it to a surface to use. Unfortunately one problem i noticed is that the magnets are not strong enough on my microwave door. This is the only metal surface directly above the stove and if i were to open the microwave, the timer falls off if i am not very careful with opening the microwave door. Other than that, it works great.
