I found this book intriguing, and with so many true stories of deliverance, difficult to become sceptical. I decided to start memorizing the Psalm, and told my friends about it. My friend sent it to her sister, who is five months pregant. Last week, there was a series of break ins in her sister's town, and the men drove over to her house; they were not able to get in, and my friend felt it was due to the powerful prayer of the psalm.The book does not claim that Psalm 91 is a magic chant but it gives background information on its various components and imagery, and how it connects with the psalmist's belief in God. At the back of the book there's a page with gaps where you can insert your name and make it more personal. It sure felt good to embark on my recent trip with the words of the psalm in my mind.Of course you can just read the psalm , but the book, with its background and many stories of people's deliverance from danger reinforces the basic principles of the psalm.

What everyone should read

This book is one of the best I have ever read. It is packed full of teaching on Psalm 91 plus story upon story of those who have experienced divine favor and protection from the words of this Psalm, many from various military conflicts. The story themselves are awesome. I was amazed at how little I actually knew about this Psalm, until I read this. Ruth Peggy Joyce has spent a good part of her life studying this Psalm which tells me I have just begun to know the Presence of the One in these words.

Wonderful heartwarming stories about the power of this Psalm. KNown as the _Soldier's Psalm_ - a psalm of protection - it is no surprise it is popular with the armed forces, particularly in the USA.Peggy Joyce Ruth analyses this holy and precious Psalm line by line. The latter part of the book comprises testimonies from US army personnel, people involved in 9/11, Hurricane XYZ and other natural disasters.It is a little expensive, but you get good value for your money. It is inspiring.

I adore this book. If I could but it for everyone I know, I would!Please buy it and read it. It will reframe how you see God’s protection.

A book of 245 pages dedicated to just one psalm - but what a psalm it is! Psalm 91 is the only psalm that offers protection from all possible calamities and disasters that can befall mankind.This excellent and inspiring study book by Peggy Joyce Ruth unlocks Psalm 91 verse by verse and explains with absolute clarity the meaning behind the words. Psalm 91 is a covenant invitation by God offered to all believers to enter into. It offers protection from the storms of life. Like virtually all of God's promises to believers, this psalm has conditional promises. Faith in the Word of God in the promises of this psalm is what activates the covenant of protection. Walking in obedience to His Word is what keeps the covenant valid. Speaking the words of the psalm out loud every day is what the author recommends.The book is divided into two parts, the explanation of the psalm verses, and then multiple first-person accounts on how reciting and trusting Psalm 91 changed lives and showed how God Almighty delivers according to his promises in this psalm. For example, one story shows how a man used Psalm 91 to ward off a tornado that was headed directly for his home.
