Most probably it works as per its technical specs. But is 10-12ms Transfer time too much?
This UPS does fail my PC sometimes when load on my GPU and CPU is high and Mains electricity fails again and again within seconds. That is a rare occurrence. It fails with UPS being "overloaded" when electricity fails. Now before you guys start telling me I should go for a larger UPS, the recommended PSU for my combo of CPU and GPU (ryzen3500 and GTX 1060) is less than 450 watts. And adding maximum losses from 80PLUS PSU, it still does not ask for more than 540 watts. UPS is 660 watts. As a matter of fact I can Cold Start my UPS when Mains electricity is OFF and I can load my PC maximally (both GPU and CPU) for a few minutes on battery backup without problem. So too much load is not the problem. It is momentary overload when electricity fails . I will explain it in a bit more detail ahead. Anyway I will not return this unit because this is the best I can get for this amount of money from a big brand. Now let me explain to the extent of my understanding why it sometimes fails in rare circumstances. It is most basic model of UPS from APC. Anything above it from APC costs considerably more both in initial purchase and later in Battery replacement costs. Today in era of APFC PSUs, Sine-wave UPS are preferred, but sine-wave UPS are basically not available in India or are priced too highly. So I will settle for this. Even APC itself suggests Sine-wave UPS for APFC PSUs, and if you have a decent PC bought in last 10 years it most probably has APFC PSU. Now for those who don't know about "Transfer Time", most of the UPS in market do not provide power backup upon Mains electricity failure "INSTANTLY". There is a Tiny time delay in switching on battery power of UPS. This Delay is "Transfer time." PSUs are supposed to handle this "Transfer time" to extent of about 15ms. PSUs have some energy in their capacitors. So Max of 12ms from this UPS should be acceptable. But not all PSUs are good enough. Even branded PSUs of huge brands fall short on this parameter by a little bit. So it is always better for UPS transfer time to be lower. If PSUs capaitor are unable to handle "Transfer time", PC will restart in most cases. This does not happen for me. Also during this delay of "Transfer time" capacitors in PSU gets discharged, causing a larger than normal current to charge capacitors when power is resumed after the tiny delay. This current is Inrush current and can cause UPS to shutdown because of overload. This probably is the case for me. Less the transfer time, less the capacitor is discharged and less is the Inrush current. So , again, it is always better for UPS transfer time to be lower. Many other brands are offering Transfer time in 4-8ms in this price range. But they are less reputed than APC, so I will stick with APC. But I expect even basic model from brand like APC to have better "Transfer time". It is a critical parameter of UPS. In the era of APFC PSUs all UPS from a big brand must be Sine wave. But alas that is not the case. If you need 100 percent reliability you can sure go for expensive models with Less "Transfer Time" or preferably Less "Transfer Time" and Sine-wave. If your work is really important and money is no limit, go for "Online topology" UPS which have ZERO "Transfer time", but will need more battery costs, and even consume a bit more energy.

Excellent product but botched delivery
Cloudtail Shipped this product to me via Delhivery and they manhandled somehow which led to the internal fan breaking when arriving and the UPS not working properly and shutting down unexpectedly every so often. AMAZON DOES NOT HAVE A RETURN POLICY ON THIS PRODUCT so they did not help me more than tell me how to contact the makers of the product APC. Thankfully APC were exceedingly cooperative and sent an expert to look at the product and it was he who determined that the fan was broken by opening it up. I contacted support on the night of 9th Jan, a support expert came to my house the very next day on the 10th, put in a request for a fix or a replacement immediately, APC very helpfully decided to just give me a replacement for the whole unit which I received on the 12th which now works wonderfully. I have a desktop which is an i5 6500 and a GTX 1070 configuration and a BenQ 1080p 24 inch monitor and under a light load of browsing, the unit has an uptime of more than 15 minutes which is the longest I've been able to test without risking damage to my desktop and is adequate for my needs. When under battery power the fan makes a fair amount of noise but it's not that loud and a small sacrifice for protecting some very expensive components. On the whole, EXTREMELY satisfied with the product and APC, the manufacturers and EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with the delivery process.

Doesn't work
I wanted to use this UPS for a mini-PC, but whenever there was power cut, the PC abruptly turned off! I have now connected a KVM switch and a USB hub to it instead, but it provides barely 1-2 minutes of backup!

Reliable Protection for Your Electronics: APC UPS BX1100C-IN
I recently invested in the APC UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), and it has proven to be an indispensable addition to my home office setup. As someone who relies heavily on electronics for work and entertainment, having reliable power backup and surge protection is crucial, and the APC UPS delivers on both fronts. Firstly, the build quality is excellent. The UPS unit itself feels solid and well-engineered, reassuring me of its durability and ability to withstand power fluctuations. Setting it up was straightforward; I simply plugged in my devices and the UPS automatically detected and protected them. One of the standout features of the APC UPS is its reliable battery backup. During power outages, the seamless transition to battery mode ensures that my devices stay powered on without any interruption. This feature has saved me from losing unsaved work and allows me to continue working or browsing the internet uninterrupted until power is restored. Moreover, the surge protection capabilities are top-notch. Living in an area prone to electrical storms, I've noticed the APC UPS effectively shielding my sensitive electronics from sudden power surges and spikes. This gives me peace of mind knowing that my valuable equipment, such as computers and routers, are safeguarded against potential damage. In terms of noise, the APC UPS operates quietly, which is ideal for a home or office environment where silence is appreciated. It doesn't add any noticeable background noise, even when running on battery power. Overall, the APC UPS has exceeded my expectations with its reliable performance, robust build quality, and comprehensive protection features. It's a must-have for anyone looking to safeguard their electronics from power outages and electrical disturbances. I would highly recommend this UPS to anyone seeking peace of mind and uninterrupted power supply for their valuable devices.

Not the worst ๐ | But thought this was my worst purchase
Edited.. Read the below review after reading this.. Everything I said below was true. But lately I claimed the warranty and the the APC support person came and checked the product and realised the one of the battery was fault and had issues. So he replaced it and now the ups is damn, giving enough backup ๐ฅ. Still I didn't tried how long it can last while gaming but once when I was playing PUBg PC, it was an intense session, so when the power was gone, i couldn't stop playing because we were on the middle of a fight, so I just keep playing and the power usage is too high considering that I'm playing on 1440p custom high-ultra settings, and I played till the power restored and it took I suppose almost 5-7 minutes. So I'm damn sure the ups can withstand almost 10minutes of heavy use without any issue. And right now I'm happy for the purchase. Still removing one star for the weired fan Noise while on battery backup. First review: Not sure what went wrong. I have been Apc user for almost 4-5 years. I was using back ups 360w for my desktop pc. Even though it didn't gave enough backup for gaming but in idle I did get plenty of backup for my router. So when I upgraded my system with some good gaming spec, I had to upgrade my ups also, for more power draw. Due to my good experience with APC, i gone for this 1100 version. Tho ught it would give me enough backup. The only positive thing I can say about this is : "sorry I don't remember anything, or there isn't any. ๐" Cons i can say alot, I will mention some of them : Battery backup is bad, means really bad. Don't even give enough time to shutdown my system. I am using Deepcool 550 W psu and a 27" monitor with 25W power usage. Also with a router with less than 5W power usage. So even adding all these are max didn't even use 600W. But even in idle state, if the power is our, the ups don't give enough time for me to shutdown my system. Maximum of 1minute. The charging is whack! Even after power completely drawn off of the ups, when I put this to charging, after 1/2 hour the charging led stops lighting, it looks like it's fully charged. But the it's not๐. The noise of the fan is disgusting, after turning off the ups, the fan starts and keep rotating for almost 5-10minutes and it feels like hell. And even the normal noise is very higher than we think.. when the whole room is silent, i can hear the ups noise from the next room. That much noise it makes. But I thought it is a problem with the device I got. But referring with some one using the same ups, it comes with this stupid ups. My bad the returning period is over. And I'm going to reach out to apc for a replacement or refund for this worst purchase of my life. Never thought this going to happen from such a respected brand.

Works Great!
Works like a charm! We have outages almost daily - not long power-outages - just brief drops for a few seconds only (just long enough to shut down all of your home network/screens/computers/etc) - so this UPS kicks right in and keep me going. No more dropped TEAMS calls, no more interrupted Virtual Meetings. Love it!

Fine when it works, but died under warranty - FIXED after warranty claim
APC used to be one of the best UPS brands in the market but they've definitely gotten worse over the years. First off, I use this with a 450W mid range computer and 2 displays, and only needed it for uninterrupted backup for 10-15s before my generator power kicks in. I have never used this on battery for more than a minute since I bought it in December 2023. It worked perfectly for this purpose since I do frequent zoom calls on presentations and needed the peace of mind. It handled the mini power cuts with ease and I was never worried about the battery since I barely used it. I have the "battery saver" option thing on, have kept it clean and ventilated in a cool corner of the room. Last week when the power went out as usual it straight up just died. Turning it on makes all the lights flicker and a fast buzzing/ticking sound goes off. Needless to say it does not power my PC anymore so I'm currently plugged directly into the wall. After some googling I found out it's because of an internal electrical failure, and is actually not uncommon in this particular UPS model. Hence why I'm leaving this review, so you're a bit aware of the potential problems you could have with this - it hasn't even been a year and this thing already needs to be repaired. When you pay a bit more for a reputed brand you expect better than this. I am currently figuring things out with Schneider/APC to get this unit either replaced or fixed. Needless to say I cannot recommend this UPS despite my prior good experience with it because, apparently, it can fail out of nowhere with no warning within a year of purchase. Disgusting QC. I will bump up the stars to 4 if they are able to get this sorted out without a hassle. UPDATE: 19/07/24 After 2 weeks of some back and forth with support (which seemed to keep asking me for the same information repeatedly losing a bunch of time in the process), I finally had a Schneider technician call me and do a home visit to look at the unit. He replaced the batteries saying the old ones had died due to a possible defect, and that the rest of the unit is fine. I'll use it for a few days and hopefully it's fine now. So yeah, failure under 1 year = big boo, support and warranty = good enough, got the job done but a bit slow to respond sometimes. Home visit for servicing was convenient though. I think 4 stars is a bit much all things considered so here you go, 3/5. Gets the job done, may fail if the gods are displeased.
