Its something everyone can carry in their backpack on trips or hiking it's the best one can get thought for country like india it might seem expensive but it comes with life time warranty and it's the knife's life not yours so even if it goes bad in the hands of your grandchildren they would be able to claim the warranty .

Writing this review a bit late, as in, a few months late. Totally loved the product - it was sturdy, well-designed ergonomically and perfectly well-built. Not too many products these days can sport the "Built to last" tagline, this one proudly does. Feels satisfying when you hold it and you just want to keep it with you at all times.The initial line of the review is in the past tense because I don't have it anymore - it was stolen by the movers and packers' guys while shifting - a testament to how attractive the product is. :p

Product was good but the packaging was appalling. The original box was all scuffed and wrinkly. It was a gift and a bit embarrassing to give in the original box.

...To misquote Crocodile Dundee.I wanted to try one of the larger SAK's for camping/bushcraft~This was a very good price on Amazon & this model had all the tools i usually use on my regular SAK.This has an 80mm blade,& significantly thicker than the standard sized ones.Either Victorinox have upped their game recently or I was lucky with this one~ Proper sharp out of the box.Comfortable handle,knife feels more robust than a standard size model, The blade lock will take a little time to adjust to & the tools are a bit stiffer to open than a standard SAK~ possibly a good thing~thinking... after some useage.Plastic is not as aesthetically pleasing as the standard models. I understand that this size SAK (but not this model) is what is now issued to Swiss soldiers, so i'm guessing the plastic was chosen for resiliency rather than any cost cutting exercise by Victorinox.Time will tell.Thus far impressed.While still of pocketable size, if you want a pocket knife go with a standard sized model.Mine will be reserved for camping & similar outdoor pursuits.If Victorinox are reading this, my constructive feedback~ It would be good to have a secondary smaller knife blade like most standard SAK's have.

This is a knife and a half! It has the usual Victorinox attributes of sturdiness, and long serving robustness. The blade is a good size larger, and thicker than other Victorinox penknives I have, with a good strong locking mechanism, which is quick and easy to use, you simply push over a steel holder that runs the length of the knife, locking the flat screwdriver the other end as well. Also in the handle are the usual tweezers, and toothpick.Very pleased with this large penknife, which is substantially heavier than the other many bladed Victorinox penknives, and of course it will last as long as them, perhaps even supersede them!!You need to sign for it upon arrival, because of its status.

For someone who's a fan of S.A.K.'s who is considering picking up a larger model, for the larger locking blade, this is a no brainer.It's the usual Victorinox quality (meaning it pretty much can't be beaten) and seems capable of some hard work.My only problem is that now I have this I have to invest in the Workchamp version - so if you're indecisive whether to buy this model, or spend a little more for the Workchamp, go for the Workchamp, because you'll buy this and just wish you'd spent a little more.Still, for someone who only wants it for the basic blade, saw, can/bottle opener and the other tools, this is a BRILLIANT investment.

This is an excellent and essential product to have with you at all times. It is extremely well made and reliable and I cannot envisage life without it. Even at the point of surrendering it to secure passage on an Aeroplane, the check in staff had to return it in order for me to fix their packing machine which had become jammed. There is always a gadget to fix something and it is nice to have a knife that little bit bigger than a standard penknife.

Great Blade, Saw, Can Opener/small flathead/Phillips screwdriver, Double setting large flat screwdriver/Bottle opener, Reamer, Corkscrew, Keyring attachment. Cant recommend enough BUT KEEP IN RUCKSACK or BOOT OF CAR and make sure you have a good reason eg WORK/CAMPING/HUNTING etc - POLICE always think the worse so be warned and check the laws and be careful its like a Razor Blade !
