WISH I HAD BOUGHT ONE 10 YEARS AGO!!!
I love this thing and wish I had done it a decade ago! It's not hooked up to the dryer yet but there's no doubt in my mind that it will function flawlessly! Very simple to install. It appears to be very durable and user friendly and was not expensive at all, a great value!

Very well made and easy to install DIY.
I had a clog in my dryer ventilation and ended up replacing the whole line which was a lot of work. So I decided to add this second trap, which turned out to be an excellent product. Now we remove the lint from the dryer and also every two or three days from this box. I no longer have a fire hazard in the basement.

Works, nicely made with some modifications
This lint trap was exactly what I was looking for after cleaning my dryer vent for the upteenth time. I did have to add foam weather stripping to the door (otherwise the lint would have easily escaped the gaps in the door), and used dust flex cuffs to clamp to the dryer vent duct. The end result: zero lint has escaped the trap, and I've already emptied the trap twice with trapped lint. Note, it will not trap *all* of the lint--it's not supposed to. But it does trap larger particles that can eventually build up. The rest should escape out your exterior vent.

Well made and effective 4.5 stars
So far it has been a good solution to minimize “pass -through lint. The unit is well constructed, documentation is useful, and easy to install as a flush mounted unit. That said; I have three issues that trouble me somewhat: 1. When you open the door to collect any lint, when you open the door, lint not attached to the filter falls down into the pre-filter dryer exhaust pipe. The work around is to start the dryer before opening it opening the filter door. Messy, but effective. I will post any better solutions I come up with. 2. There is some leakage through the door and does get some accumulation of lint there. It seems as though it needs a gasket to better seal the door when closed. 3. Is more of a “nice to have”: It would be great if the unit had the ability to be flush mounted. It would save a lot of space. The door latch and the location of the pipes makes that difficult if not impossible. But this is a minor suggestion. I mention only because in the photos it seemed possible. None of the above are showstoppers. It’s worth the price as is. I am not unhappy by any stretch of the imagination.

Lint trap
I have a drier vent that vents outside, about 6 feet away from a new split unit heat pump/AC unit that I had installed recently. I noticed that the condenser coils on the heat pump was covered in lint that was coming out of the drier vent. I vacuumed the lint off the coils, but I was hoping I could do something to prevent this from happening again. I stumbled on this item and so far it is working great! Even better than I was expecting. I am checking the condenser coils after every laundry cycle and so far it is completely clean. It's been several weeks now. I'll provide an update at some point down the road, but this thing is just what I needed and the quality of the product is very good as well.

Very well-made. Catches lint before going up to rooftop vent or internal direct exhaust for heat.
This HOOMESUN Dryer Duct lint trap really solves a problem and does it well. My direct exhaust was roof mounted. Lint would make it up the piping and block the exhaust screen up on the roof. Now we can collect and clean this lint trap right at the dryer. The glass door makes it apparent when this is needed. Since it is winter, I went ahead and coupled this lint trap with a 4 in 1 direct exhaust filter. The HOOMESUN Dryer lint trap adds lint catching protection, keeping the direct home vent clean. When we no longer need to heat our home this spring, I will re-attach the HOOMESUN Dryer lint trap to the hose that goes out my roof. Really an ideal set of products.

Good product
There is a lot people need to know about these dryer duct lint traps and YouTube videos don't quite tell all. This is a good one; and 1. DOOR SEAL - you also need to buy fireproof BBQ gasket to seal the door... I added some to all 4 sides of the inside of the door... the gasket has self-stick on it... and the door closed fine and it keeps the lint trap door from leaking. (they sell some on Amazon) 2. CLAMPS - you may need more clamps than the 2 provided depending on your application and mounting. They provide a good clamp... if you buy more... make sure they are of the same strength... i.e., strong enough to crush a semi-solid dryer vent pipe. Usually the kind you can use a small hex driver with instead of a screw driver. 3. METAL VS. PLASTIC - this vent is metal... you definitely want metal! A dryer vent pipe gets hot... even when it is a long way from the dryer. 4. FLEXIBLE VENT PIPE - again... here you want the metal kind... they provide some with the unit OR you can buy some metal semi-solid... they are all prone to breakage and leading... so be careful mounting them 5. HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL - I mounted mine vertical because I had no choice... this box can be mounted horizontal... and I think their other version that is designed to be mounted horizontal might be preferred because it would drop the lint (in theory) inside the box in a collection area... in either case you will probably still need to vacuum... I think the horizontal version is more $$$. 6. USING SCREENS OR NOT - if you just want clean out access, you do not need to add either screen 7. MOUNTING - it might be a good idea to mount this unit on a piece of wood in the wall or even on the surface of drywall. I mounted mine inside a wall in an existing pipe and it was a bear to cut the pipe... think twice before following my example.

Great Quality Dryer Lint Box
I think this is a great quality dryer lint box. It is metal - not plastic- with a see through door that latches closed. It has two metal mesh screens that trap the lint for easy removal. Very sturdy and easy to affix to a wall - comes with four wall plugs and screws. Also, comes with exhaust foil hose and metal clamps. Straightforward installation - I watched a YouTube 'how to' video which was helpful. There are many kinds of lint traps on the market, and I chose this one because it is metal and has a latched door. I read several reviews about the plastic types which experienced the door opening prematurely because of the dryer's hot air exhaust. This lint box was somewhat more expensive, but I think it is well worth it given the high quality.

Awesome
Fantastic. VERY robust and sturdy. Exponentially better than the cheap plastic one it replaced (though it’s also dramatically more expensive than the cheap plastic one). The 2 screens have different size “holes” so the 45° filter catches the bigger stuff while the vertical filter is finer and catches the smaller stuff. I like that there are both filters so that it’s not clogged as quickly as it would be with just a single. Another great feature is the latch mechanism — the poor closing “catch” on the cheap plastic versions doesn’t stay shut long, eventually wearing out and needing to be held closed with tape or bungee cords or whatever. This one is excellent.

Better than a plastic one!
Better than the plastic ones. This one is made of metal and has a buckle latch to ensure it stays closed. The plastic type warp and pop open over time venting moist air inside. Other users stated the mesh was not catching lint but I haven't had an issue. The only concern is if you are using sold 4" ducting instead of the supplied foil hose. There will be a slight gap between the solid duct and the metal housing. I use a small bead of high temp silicone to stop air leaks. Works great!
