SO GOOD. I eat it direct from can. It has such a good flavor and texture. I love salmon, but some brands I have to do something with it to make it appetizing (ie salmon patties). But this? nah, I want it as original in form from the can as possible. I love love love it. I also happen to be long time fan of Wild Planet products-- all of them. I buy sardines, and their tuna, and tuna ready to eat meals.. whatever they have I eat it. The salmon though.. it was an impulse purchase. I already have a slew of salmon in my pantry. But I hadnt yet had Wild Planet wild salmon, and OMG I am in love. When I open the can, I note that it has some liquid on top. After I dump it out and separate out the pieces, there really isnt much liquid at all. There may not look like there is much meat in the can, but that is because the pieces are well clumped together. Once I break them apart, the volume expands. Flavor is not fishy. More chicken-esque but not a canned flavor exactly. Fresh tasting all considered. I really like it over a lot of the big can brands. I just love this one so much that I am making myself crave it as I write this review. Will be what I am having for breakfast!! Salty but not too salty. I love having it alongside a bunch of steamed broccoli. I dont add anything to the broccoli and instead use the salmon as the flavoring, for that hint of salty.

I was looking for an easy breakfast, with a decent amount of protein. I think one can has roughly 36 grams of protein (having 3oz as a serving size). I eat the whole can and find myself decently full in the morning. I warm the salmon on a skillet while preparing some ricecakes with nut butter. It's an easy breakfast that usually fills me up for the morning. On the days I don't eat salmon, I tend to get hungry earlier. I like the taste and that's it is wild caught. I like the convenience of the can. I don't need to thaw fish and cook it thoroughly on the grill, stove, or oven. Salmon is smelly, but that is normal when it comes to most fish. I've ordered this brand two times and have had no issues (thus far). I will continue ordering from this brand because I like that's wild caught, and I think sustainably caught, and it works for me. Other brands tend to have extra flavor or soy added to them. This is just fish and salt. Yes, it is expensive. That is something I am willing to splurge on when it comes to eating.

I just did a side-by-side comparison of Wellesley Farms (Wild) Pink Salmon, Wild Planet Wild Pink Salmon, and Pure Alaska "Redhead" Sockeye Salmon. Wellesley Farms, which we had bought for at least ten years, recently degraded in quality and is finally no longer available . Wild Planet is much better than Wellesley Farms, but not great. Pure Alaska "Redhead" - yes, it's not Pink, it's Sockeye - was the clear winner. Solid hunks of fish, good texture and flavor. As long as I can get Pure Alaska, that's what I'll be buying.

After getting a free sample from an order i placed w another company and liking the taste, I googled to see who had it. The price is reasonable, the cans are easy to open and the serving is just enough to fill you up for several hours. As picky eaters, I am happy to say that two of us are now eating it. The taste is not as strong as i thought it would be so i am able to enjoy ,it and it has a semi strong smell. Adding lemon juice reduces the taste and smell somewhat as i continue to learn how to eat it. My son enjoys it in a sandwich ,on a tostada or in a salad. We are glad we bought it and will definitely buy again. I recommend you try it if you haven't.

Quality of this brand is very high. everything is high quality. fish is fresh. texture is awesome. no much water inside .smell is good. size is fair. cans are without any dent in it. Only concern that is a little bit expensive than another brand.
