Nice lens !
Pros: 1. Cheap than other lenses in same segment 2. worth its price 3. Nice image quality than other (I also tested sigma 70-300 of my friend and found this lens have good image quality) 4. It will compress background so well, that you won't believe that its aperture is 5.6f. And it gives bloody awesome portraits 5. Macro mode works well (180-300mm), not like actual micro lenses but better than normal Cons: 1. Too much chromatic aberration, which is disappointing. 2. Long distance images have low contras issue but, it is expected when you are using telephoto lens 3. You will surely miss "VR (Vibration reduction)" when shooting long distance object, But again you have to pay 20k more for that 4. Lens find it difficult to "auto-focus" on small object when compared to 18-55 kit lens. Plus auto focusing on 300mm is too much battery consuming 5. Some time it looks like clarity is compromised in low light. But I think I shouldn’t talk about clarity as I’m using D5100 :) But if you are tight on budget this is a best lens. Go with it you will never regret. Note: I have tried it with Nikon D5100 and Nikon D7000

Well have a soft corner for the pictures 2017 updated review
Have been using this lens for 4 5 months and let me say it is good not that impressive even at 70mm pictures are not sharp enough at f8 even @ 11f stops in daylight it manages to get pretty decent shots but u have to know where the lens is comfortable have shot a few shows well photos were berable but i wouldnt recommend anyone if they want stellar image quality with this one its a good Lerner's lens n a big L should be on the top of the box to prove all the things that just crawled your mind 😜😂😂 14-mar-2017: have used this lens for quite a time and ive dropped this lens a couple of times and its still working like nothing has happened, give this lens enough light and it will shine keeo in mind* shutter speed should be at least as much as of the focal length because of the crop factor of dx format or multiply it by 1.5xfocal length * example at 70mm shutter should at least be at 1/100 at 300mm = shutter be at atleast 1/400 for portraits and youd get probably great results of course for wildlife and sports youd have to use higher but f5.6 is a plus point ➕ ☝️ if you are doing event or something Talking about aperture : it performs well at f5.6 and f8 beyond that it tends to loose sharpness untill you reach f16 my conclusion i bought it for 7200 rs nikkor70-300af-s isnt worth it and though this lens makes noise or should i say screams id still prefer this over the silent nikkir 70-300 af-p lens as this lens at 300mm has its max aperture of f5.6 almost 2 stops more than the nikkor 70-300 af-p and this can come handy sometimes

This review might help wheather to buy or not?
-------------NIKON------------- I will list the advantages and the disadvantages of using this lens. Pros- 1. Feels like a pro lens, its heavy and when extended to the fullest, it is very long. 2. Picture quality is good enough. 3. I don't really feel the lack of VR or VC while using the lens from 70-200 but using in 300 might be a little shaky if you are not steady or using a slow shutter speed. 4. Good for beginners. 5. Macro feature might come into handy at times. 6. Fantastic build quality. Cons- 1. Autofocus kind of suck at times but most of the time it works just fine. 2. Zoom ring is a little hard. 3. Shaky pictures at times even with steady hands. 4. Definately not good for low light. 5. Lacks silent autofoucs and if you are shooting video the video is goint to get really noisy due to the moving of the focus part. Conclusion- If you are not low on cash you might want to search for the nikon 70-300mm which has both VR and silent autofocus system which would be easier to use. When you start to spend time with the lens, you will realise that you would want to use manual focus instead of autofocus (as AF kind of sucks at times) which would improve you skills. Talking about the macro, it is not 1:1 macro so you probably wont be able to use it to take pictures of tiny insects because it is 1:2 magnification and by default this lens start macro from 180-300mm which is already far away. This lens can be used for portraits at times but pictures might be soft at f/5.6 and I would recommend to use it at f/8 or f/11 for sharper picture. Final decision- Buy this lens but in the end of the day you might be very happy or very upset if you set very high expectation as this lens costs around 10k and at this price 70-300 with AF is a lot they are offering. Go for it. Good luck.

Fine lense for the price. Ok to experiment with as a beginner.
For the price its an ok lense.. took about 2 hrs to undertand the macro mode properly. 1:2 macro isnt that great but will do for beginner level to lern and experiment. Without tripod very difficult to get proper focus while in zoom n macro mode. At 300 mm the images are soft. For now its fine to experiment with.

Good for beginners
I have been using this lens for past 1 year, This is a great lens for beginners who are looking for a telephoto lens, this is very cheap, and worth its price. this can be used for learning, not if you are too serious about picture quality the following are my experiences from using this lens. 1) High chromatic abberation if you are shooting against bright backgrounds wide open, but to a level can be corrected in post production. 2) the macro feature is not 'true macro' ie reproduction ratio is not 1:1, so if you are into macro photography, you better go for 1:1 macro lens for better results. 3) built in focus motor can be noisy sometimes ,focus speed is slow, and can be irritating to subject . 4) minor distortion larger aperture. 5) i had some problems with macro and manual switch as it may get stuck sometimes. 6) under ideal conditions it can deliver quality pictures. 7) Avoid low light conditions for better results.

Value for money
I find the lens value for money. It does job without much complication.the lens is good except for the sharpness. The pictures are soft in general but with practice one can easily improve sharpness.. attached very common things found in my home.

Can take long distance image very well
The overall camera lens is very good and can effortlessly take long distance photos. However, the image clarity is a little blurry at such long range (Around 1 KM + distance). This lens perfectly fits my Nikon D3500 camera. The lens has both MF & AF (Manual/auto focus) with, normal/macro options. Overall, I liked it. With max. zoom, the lens is around 8-10 inches (This is a little heavy after some long usage), otherwise for short term usage, the lens is not very heavy. At shorter distance (less than 50 metres), the lens is very good and image clarity is very good. Overall, no bad experience and I liked it.

If you need True Macro then do not buy(applies for newbies too)
Only if it had “VR/VC” option for those shaky hands. Is the thought came by when I was shooting macro 😔 but yes this can be solved by using a tripod or gorilla tripod and mobile trigger. Pros : - can use it as a pseudo macro lense. - can be used to get decent pics - Use proper metering and you will end up getting right picture quality. Cons: - learn dancing ...!! Because u basically dance back n forth to focus. - Auto focus is a pain in the back area. - feels plasticity!! - macro switch and Autofocus/Manual switch feel jammed and when pressure is applied will slip to requires mode but with a small jolt of breaking from the slot. ** if bright source is present then this works like butter. But in low light conditions then read the cons. All in all 10k is worth paying if you want to experiment. If not then go for a 1:1 macro lense , because referees ring doesn’t work (no lever to turn aperture )

1. Qualität/Haptik des Objektivs: Made in China steht drauf - aber schwere, sehr solide wirkende Ausführung. Gummierung gut griffig, Gewicht hoch. Kein klappern, guter Sitz an der Kamera. Insgesamt sehr guter Eindruck. 2.

Blown away at the price and quality!
I should start off by saying, I am a beginner photographer using a Nixon D3200. I've only used one other lens in my life, the one it came with, which is why I figured I better get a better one for distance shots. I'm not looking to be a professional, I really just enjoy the outdoors and want to be able to take pictures of birds & wildlife. I mostly bought this lens to use for photographing birds. I was really deterred by the price and nervous about the lack of image stabilization, being that I'm not very steady handed. I decided to give it a shot anyways. I am completely in awe. This lens perfectly fits my needs. I'm able to take pictures of birds in just about any lighting and weather, whether they are moving or not. The auto focus was a must for me and it works beautifully. It seems sturdy and durable and is very easy to use. I'm able to get beautiful close up shots of birds in nearby trees! Im not at all steady handed and all of my pictures have been without the use of a tripod, just by hand. Even if I'm fully focused in, I can still take good pictures without a tripod or propping my elbows on something, so that didn't turn out to be an issue for me at all. I've only had photographs with doubled tree branches in about 10 photos, out of about 200 since I got this lens. And really the photograph still came out really nice (it's actually below)- the branches were blurred in the background so you really couldn't even tell. Also, with about 3 out of about 200 pictures I have taken, I've seen a slight purple or green edge on the bird or tree branch. It's a rarity though. I'm really impressed. It's also much lighter than I expected it to be, so I'll be able to take it hiking no problem- and we go on long trails, hiking for up to 10 hours a day! I'm really impressed and I highly recommend this lens, especially for bird and wildlife enthusiasts. I do hope to one day get a lens that reaches further, but for now and with my current budget, this is perfect! You'll be able to get really good close up photos, some as close as even showing the details of their feathers, of birds in nearby trees. I can also get some pretty amazing long range photos with this as well. Totally worth it! The photos below were taken with this lens, with only minimal editing to the coloration and contrast of the photo. These birds were about 30-40 feet away in a nearby tree! They probably would have come out even better had I have used the hood that it comes with, but I keep forgetting to put it on.

Quality lense, quick delivery
I have been searching for a 70-300 lens that will be compatible with my old Nikon camera (AF-S). This lens is great, and no difference from the Nikor branded lenses. And as a bonus, it was a super quick delivery - something unexpected considering I live in rural Victoria.
