I’m using the Newport NT300 Electric Outboard Motor (3HP / 1300W) on my dinghy, and it’s been excellent. Super easy to use, starts instantly, and runs impressively quiet—no noise, no fumes, no drama. While there’s no app to check stats, honestly you don’t need one… this thing just works. It has plenty of power for getting around the marina and making smooth trips from the boat to the dock. Reliable, simple, and efficient—exactly what you want in an electric outboard. Most importantly, it gets me safely ashore to handle critical rum resupply missions, and for that alone it earns five stars.

Seems to actually be the equivalent of a 3 HP gas outboard without the fumes, noise, vibration and maintenance hassles. Very quiet and low vibration. Great for maneuvering into place for nature photos. I also like the light weight and the fact that the batteries are separate from the motor, which is not the case for some other small electric outboards. I am using 3, 100-Amp LiPO4 batteries wired in series which gives me about a full day on the water at 2/3 throttle. There is a bit of delay when twisting the throttle which you just have to get used to. My main complaint is the length of the shaft. The "short shaft" model is still several inches longer than a comparable gasoline motor, which is limiting in the shallows, and seems to pick up lots of weeds. Also, I'd love it if the tiller were offset like a gasoline outboard. As it is I have to sit uncomfortably forward and reach behind my back.

Fantastic no problems and runs clean, you'll be tempted to get something bigger but know that with electricity if you run, for example, a 2600w motor you'll get a bit more speed but your range is halfed. Think with most boards you'll get 7ish miles per hour with a 1300w. With a 2000w you might get 9 and a 3000w you might get 12. Personally I don't want to carry 10 batteries. I get about 2 hrs with a 100 amp hr batter with the NT300 at full

Very light to carry, extremely quiet while running, and super easy to monitor speed and voltage. The Trim pin is easy to adjust, Forward & Reverse gears and charging with 36V 50A Lithium battery is an efficient non-issue. Pushes my 11' skiff nicely over the water and is well-built. Great value for the money as it brings tremendous freedom for those wanting power & distance.

Excellent trolling motor. Power beyond means pushing 250 lb man in a pelican catch 100 easily went 5 miles using a 36 volt lithium battery and used 27 percent of the battery. I recommend. Get out there!
