Good to read before the trip and small enough to take with you
Fodor provides a comprehensive overall veiw of Scotland. We have used Fodor guides for other destinations. It does not disappoint

A good, if somewhat limited, guide to Scotland
Like most travel guides, great for recommendation in well-known destinations like Oban and the Isle of Mull. Not as useful for those in-between places as you venture between. But I never leave home without one!

Great tips regarding all things Scot.
This book was indispensable during my recent visit to Scotland.

Do not buy if looking for information on Scotland’s smaller cities
The authors are big on Glasgow and Edinburgh and not much else.
