2 in 1 - Pack + Facewash
I absolutely love this ubtan powder! It’s a fantastic 2-in-1 product that works as both a face pack and a face wash. My skin feels incredibly clean and refreshed after using it, and I’ve noticed a beautiful glow that lasts all day. The natural ingredients are gentle, making it perfect for my sensitive skin. Highly recommend!

Works well, but no tamper seal.
I love trying new skincare products. So when I got the chance to order this Auravedic Kumkumadi Ubtan Cleansing Powder, I figured it’d be worth a try. There are two things I look for when it comes to any new skincare product… a tamper seal of some sort and a manufactured and/or expiration date clearly printed somewhere. Unfortunately this jar arrived with no tamper seal on it so there’s no way I can be sure that no one else has opened the jar before me. However I was happy to see that they included both a manufactured (6/2025) and expiration date (6/2027) on the label. I’ve been using this cleansing powder for a little over two weeks straight now and I’m pleasantly surprised. It feels really gentle on my skin but still leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed. I like that I’m able to mix it with a little water to get the consistency I want. I just have to be careful when adding the water otherwise I can make a big powder mess on my counter and end up wasting a bunch of product. The turmeric and saffron give it a nice natural feel and my skin looks a bit brighter after using it consistently. The scent is herbal so it may not be for everyone, but it’s no too bad in my opinion. Overall I found this Auravedic Kumkumadi Ubtan Cleansing Powder to be an easy addition to my skincare routine since it gives me gentle exfoliation without feeling too harsh.

Messy, messy, not a fit for me.
I was a little skeptical when I first opened this face wash powder and decided to do some research before actually using it. It comes in a jar filled with an extremely lightweight yellow powder that is meant to be mixed with water, milk, toner, or rosewater. The powder is incredibly fine and very easy to spill. Just trying to scoop out a spoonful, it ended up all over my shirt, counter, and sink. Once I added water, it literally poofed into the air and spread everywhere. The texture is similar to baby powder, but even lighter, almost like talc or dust. After doing some research, I learned this is an Indian product. According to Google, Kumkumadi ubtan powder is said to offer deep cleansing, exfoliation, and brightening benefits. It claims to help reduce tan, pigmentation, acne scars, and blemishes while promoting smoother, clearer, and naturally glowing skin. It is made with Ayurvedic herbs like saffron, turmeric, and sandalwood and is supposed to improve texture and fight signs of aging such as fine lines, while being suitable for all skin types. Once I finally got it mixed into a paste, I tested it on my hand and had no reaction, so I applied it to my face and let it sit for about 5 minutes. It reminded me of a clay mask I used back in my teen years in the 80s to help with acne. After it dried, it felt like dry chalk on my face. When I rinsed it off using a white face cloth, it left an alarming orange stain on the cloth, as well as on a few spots on my white t shirt and my sink. The yellow powder did wash clean from my porcelain sink, but it permanently stained my shirt and wash cloth. I would definitely recommend wearing black clothing and using a dark towel or face cloth if you try this. My face did feel clean and smooth afterward, but also a bit dried out. This might not be the best product for someone with dry skin. For me personally, the mess, the difficulty of mixing it, the powder flying everywhere, and the staining make this a product I will not use again. For others, it may work just fine as a face wash, but it was not a good fit for me.
