I used this to break away the already cracked glass on my wife's phone. It worked great. Just enough pressure to release the glass without blasting the rest of the phone. It's a specific use case but it does what it needs to do for the repair. Price is reasonable.

I have been wanting to get one of these glass break devices for a long time. This one feels like it is made well and out of sturdy material. It has an o-ring sealed cap and the mechanism seems to function easily. It is missing some key features all emergency items like this should include. First, it is very small and would be very hard to find if you were in a car sinking or under water, perhaps even upside down. Because of its cylindrical and smooth exterior, even if you could find it, it would be very easy to drop and, because it is metal, it has no buoyancy and would sink quickly and would be nearly impossible to find again because it is dark grey. It is also missing a cutter to cut your seatbelt if you are hanging upside down. In that circumstance, your seatbelt likely would not release. These types of devices need to be made of something that will make them float. They should also be a bright color, preferably even glow in the dark material and, a cutter is just as important as the glass break mechanism. As much as I like the feel of this item, I cannot recommend it. In a true emergency, I believe it would be nearly impossible to find or use and, it is missing several key functions all device like this need to have.
