the pen is build quality the writing experience is exceptionally smooth, and the nib performs beautifully right out of the box. The pen has a solid, comfortable weight and looks elegant without being overly flashy.

I received an email from the seller about this pen. I ordered this pen and received it very quickly. I ordered the extra fine nib because I am a journaler. The pen has a good amount of weight to it and lets you know it's there when you write. It's a beautiful pen. Time will tell how all the decoration wears. The nib is absolutely spectacular and writes very smoothly even for an extra fine nib. The quality of the decoration is gorgeous and not shabby in the least. The pen does post, but with the weight of the cap on the back it's a bit difficult to balance. It really doesn't need to be posted as the weight of the pen is balanced without it and feels great in the hand. This is not just a showpiece but also a good daily writer. For the price, it deserves to be in everyone's collection.

Weight was great, writes really well, and the details are extraordinary! It's a lot more magnificent than the pictures afford it to be. Great, inexpensive way to dress up your office and your writing. Pulls in ink effortlessly and doesn't come out too fast or make a mess. Highly suggest it if you are even slightly considering it.

The only issue is that the top piece has loosened over time, which also made the clip loose. It doesn’t leak and the ink flow has been consistent. The pen is on the heavier side, which I personally like.

My Aurora Epsilon broke - second pen and when I through I could replace the nib part, I simply could not find it. That's when I found this Hongdian D5X Fountain Pen. I was skeptical that such an affordable pen could be as good as the reviews, but the price was right so I tried it. I will affirm the 5 star reviews! I am a fine writer and this nib is responsive and does not blot on the page. I prefer a better paper than a Moleskin notebook, but this pen works very nicely on Moleskin notebook paper, which my other pens do not. As noted, the decorations are really nice. You would think the decorations would be cheap-looking, but really they are very nicely detailed which is pretty amazing at this price! I have a few expensive pens but I do not like using those daily. I will say this one is very just-right and would recommend it without hesitation. Thank you to the vendor! Just a beautiful pen, with a nice weight to it. The extra fine tip writes well. I’m a little concerned about the clip but so far it’s holding up very well.

This fountain pen is very nice looking in person. Feels great in your hands. It has a nice weight to it which I like very much, and feel great to write with. I chose the EF nib which has become my favorite.

Works great - nib is nicely crafted, doesn't "bite" the paper(even when using standard paper not made for fountain pens). Ink flow is consistent, and there has been no leaks. The pen has a good weight to it - but it is on the larger size, so beware that it doesn't fit in all EDC fountain pen holders.

Ornate but incredibly well crafted. Best nib: soft, bouncy, smooth.
