Excellent product for migraine headache sufferers!
I've suffered from migraine headaches for most of my life. Unfortunately, I've passed that on to our daughter's. I also take a prescription medication for migraines but that's limited to 13 doses per month for some absolutely ridiculous reason. So I try not to take my prescription, which is also horribly expensive. I learned about butterbur for migraines about 20 years ago and have taken it off and on for those 20 years. Unfortunately, in my opinion, some manufacturers or sellers completely take advantage of the fact that nothing else, over the counter, really helps migraine sufferers so they really take advantage when it comes to price. They should understand that having a reasonably priced product means more people will buy it, and they'll buy it regularly. I was very pleasantly surprised to get this VERY reasonably priced product, that actually works incredibly well for my migraines! I'm hoping it becomes available again really soon because I'll most definitely reorder for myself and our younger daughter. I have several kinds of migraine, I have more chronic migraines (up to 15 migraine days per month). I also have visual migraines (also called silent migraines) which aren't painful but very much affect your field of vision to the point where you definitely can't drive and walking is difficult because your field of vision is affected so much. I have migraines with severe nausea and vomiting. I have uncomplicated migraines (without any other symptoms), and I have basilar type migraine (with aura & other disturbances as well as nausea and vomiting). This is an excellent product that helps me emensely with my migraine headaches! If I can take this and avoid even taking my prescription, I'm glad. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone who suffers with migraine headaches. If it works, great! If by chance it doesn't, you really haven't lost anything but have just eliminated one thing. I would suggest for those who find it doesn't work for them, to try this product, or any butterbur product daily, not as an emergency relief product. That's how physicians recommended using it, as a daily preventative. Two capsules daily as a preventative, not using it just when you feel a migraine coming on. For many people, using it as an emergency relief medication simply doesn't work, they actually have to have it build up in their system to prevent migraines. I'm fortunate, for me it does work about half the time, when I feel a migraine coming on! Very highly recommended!

It’s like a miracle!
I am really excited about taking this Butterbur to avoid migraines! I have suffered with migraines since 1980, just before I turned thirty. I tried Feverfew and my face broke out and the number of migraines did not diminish. I learned the best meds for treating them, but not to have fewer even though docs tried all the typical prophylactic meds. After I became disabled, the migraines became chronic - rarely did more than a day or two pass by without a debilitating, miserable migraine. I don’t do as much research as I used to because of poor and painful eyesight, but a new doctor who saw that I have used Turmeric and Chlorella Spirulina long term, suggested trying Butterbur. Thanks to all the other users for your great reviews! After reading them, I immediately ordered enough Butterbur for a couple month’s trial. I am so very pleased! After just the first day, I could sense a difference and I was expecting to take maybe 7 or 10 days like you have to with many prescription remedies! I went for THREE WEEKS without a migraine that required an injection of Sumatriptan! Unfortunately, that was a bad one that lasted for two days and required 2 injections, but I was having those several times a month along with milder, but miserable ones every few days! It’s now going on another ten days without a migraine and I am truly hopeful that, at long last, we’ve discovered a prophylactic that works against my migraines! I was also hopeful that I would perhaps notice a diminishing of my chronic, body pains, my seasonal allergies and even my GI Distress that keeps me pampering my GI System because some folks’ reviews mention those. Honestly, I have not observed any changes except for the frequency of migraines, but that’s enough of a miracle for me! If you’ve been told to try this for other problems, I’d suggest you give it a try. From what I have read, there are no known severe, serious, moderate or minor interactions with other drugs. There are warnings about using with other natural preparations, so do check for those. There is also a warning I just found: Contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids (especially in roots), which may be carcinogenic and hepatotoxic (commercial preparations are generally pyrrolizidine-free). This cautionary statement is NOT related to this brand or any other, but I see from the label that this brand, Carlyle, is PA free, non-GMO, and has a list of common additives that they do NOT use. Carlyle Butterbur is a reasonable price and pays attention to leaving out the sweeteners, preservatives and other chemicals that I try to avoid and it provides me with a life of fewer migraines! I will continue taking this product with gratitude for Carlyle and my doctor!

Natural Seasonal Support & Headache Relief That Actually Works!
Verified Purchase After struggling with frequent tension headaches, Carlyle Butterbur has been a game-changer! The 150mg capsules are easy to swallow with no unpleasant aftertaste. Within two weeks of consistent use, I noticed a significant reduction in both headache frequency and intensity—especially my weather-triggered migraines. Also, a great sinus support. The herb’s natural anti-inflammatory properties seem to work gently without the stomach upset I got from OTC pain relievers. While the capsules have a mild, earthy smell when opening the bottle, there’s no lingering taste. The bottle size is generous (180 capsules), offering great value for a 3-6 month supply depending on dosage. As someone cautious about supplements, I appreciate Carlyle’s commitment to quality and purity. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a natural path to headache relief!

You don't realize it works until you stop to think about it.
Initially I tried another brand of butterbur with another natural ingredient for migraines about 7 years ago, I will NEVER forget that day. It was the first time the migraines stopped. Prior to that I was on blood pressure medicine (my BP was normal, it was only prescribed for the pressure causing migraines) to alleviate the feeling of a railroad spike stuck in my eye and penetrating through to the back of my head. Once I started taking more natural products, things were much better. Natural products helped with aches, pains, indigestion and my blood work was better. Now that I acclimated to the butterbur, my blood pressure is back to what it was when I was a kid, 117/77. It is amazing that I feel better now at 47 years old than I did in my late 20s and 30s. Accidentally, I found butterbur not only helps with neurological issues and rids of migraines, but also helps bladder issues, I was prone to UTIs and have issues due to multiple sclerosis in that area, so this, along with some other natural products, has made it much better and I'm happy with the results. I bought it for migraines, seeing it helped with bladder issues was a pleasant surprise and a true blessing. Like the title of my comment says, you don’t realize it works right away, until you notice things are better than before and look back to what changes you made. FYI a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) doctor who helps using natural methods and products before giving us RX or surgery is also a blessing. I wish I knew this before I was diagnosed with MS and prescribed a plethora of prescriptions, mostly expensive brand names. Also, I believe if I had a DO doctor then, I would not have suffered through migraines for over 15 years, years of skin conditions (now gone), the bladder issues and indigestion. Worst of all, the blood work showing I had liver issues (also normal again) along with few other minor things that would have been nipped in the bud before starting. Now I'm down from the 9 RX drugs to only 2 prescriptions. It all started with the first butterbur product I bought. Plants have power we don't realize. This is a great product, I'm grateful that I found it

Works very well, YMMV
I have received no remuneration of any kind from the seller, or associates. No coupons, or promises of a refund, no free product for a review, or any other type or kind. I have no connection with the company whatsoever except as a purchaser. I am not connected by friendship, marriage or business with the seller or their associates. I paid for this product with my own money and I am giving my honest opinion about the product and the retailer. Weeellllll, this certainly works well. I was having fits with a stuffy, runny nose from pollen allergies at this time of year. I was taking 2 10 mg Loratadine tablets per day, and it STILL wasn't helping! I got a bottle of Nettle leaf capsules and that worked alright, but not all the way. So I started looking for something else that wouldn't clash with the nettle leaf, and do more harm than good. I ran across a mention of Butterbur, which I had not paid any attention to before, and started researching. I spent hours and hours reading about studies, and pros and cons, before I bought this bottle. I got this bottle because it was reasonably priced, and I couldn't see spending more without knowing whether it would work for me or not. The allergy relief seems to be hit or miss with some people according to what I've read. But I was getting desperate. I'm a lucky one who got a hit. I took 2 Stinging Nettle capsules, and 2 Butterbur. My nose isn't stuffy or running!!!! Hallelujah! Thank God! There is no smell, there is no weird taste. It took a couple of hours or so to go to work. This Butterbur is alkaloid free. That's very important that you get Butterbur that is alkaloid free, The alkaloid if left in the extract can harm your liver. This one is Alkaloid free. It's on the label. PA free. So when you are looking for Butterbur no matter where you get it, make sure it is alkaloid free. I for the life of me can't remember right off the bat what the PA alkaloid's name is, just the short version. Be careful with OTC allergy meds. Benadryl(diphenhydramine) may be effective but it is also an anticholinergic, and interferes with acetylcholine receptors in the brain, and can add to chances for dementia. Look it up. There is plenty of information about it. Check your sleep aid and see if it is diphenhydramine, another name for Benadryl. The anticholinergics can be especially bad for you as you get older. If you feel fuzzy headed after taking it, that is why. Find something else. The first generation antihistamines like Benadryl are mostly anticholinergics. The 2nd and 3rd generation antihistamines are mostly not. If your antihistamine is making you drowsy, there is a good chance it's messing with your brain. There are an awful lot of anticholinergics, and they are used in a large number of ways. From surgery, to overactive bladder, to excessive sweat production and a lot more. So check your drugs and see if they are, or aren't. Change your brand, or if you're like me, go looking for something that will work without contributing to dementia. Now I know there are a lot of factors that are involved in dementia and Alzheimer's. But my Grandmother, and my mother, had age related dementia. I would rather not increase my chances of having dementia. So I'm getting rid of the OTC and prescription antihistamines. I'm giving this product 5 stars for: value for money, effectiveness, lack of weird taste or smell.

No migraines in 3 weeks since starting
I haven’t done much research on this supplement but was getting unbearable migraines frequently after having them mostly under control for a few years and figured this was worth a shot. I have had chronic migraines since I was about 18. I even had to leave my first nursing job because I was having such terrible and frequent migraines, I’d used up 3 months of FMLA and had no remaining sick or vacation time to use and couldn’t get them under control even with frequent neurologist appointments and was on Botox injections for a period of time. My migraines have improved with Topirimate but still happen at least once a week and they are frustrating to deal with. I take Toporimate daily and Imitrex when I get migraines. Both are expensive and my health insurance has terrible coverage and I pay for prescriptions almost completely out of pocket. I was most recently having migraines 1-2x/week that were completely debilitating. I would only be able to lay in bed in complete darkness and silence with an ice pack on my forehead and neck and would vomit over and over again until I’d finally fall asleep. Since starting this I haven’t had a migraine for about 3 weeks. I also take a multivitamin, 5,000 iu of vitamin d and ginkgo. Usually when I get my period I get migraines almost everyday. This time I didn’t have a single one. If you get frequent migraines, this supplement is worth a shot. Must less expensive than Imitrex. I didn’t change anything else with my routine, just added this at 2 pills a day. I’m sure it won’t help everyone but even if it decreases the frequency or duration of your migraines it is worth a shot. I would strongly recommend.
