I shoot a Sig .40 and Glock 19 and can now interchange between the two on long days at the range without having to ever pull a loaded gun out of the holster. Unless I'm shooting down range of course. It makes it easy getting in and out of my side by side when lower holsters or thigh-rigs get in the way of the bucket seats. I really appreciate the safety of removing a weapon without removing it from a holster as I generally carry loaded. Although it does add about 1/2" of width to your holster "assembly", it has been the best set up for me when carrying outside the waistband. The extra 1/2" also helps to keep my shirt/coat from getting in the way, although does make it much harder to conceal.
