Desiring an elegant solution I went into my spring drawer and found two coil springs that I cut to 3/8" length. I drove them onto the handle on either side of the key and they look very nice. No more handle sliding out of the key The chuck fit the backing plate and runs true. I like the three key holes. Before I used it I stamped the corresponding jaw number on the chuck to simplify jaw ccharges. Great chuck for my eighty year old lathe and what i use it for.
