This is the 3rd time I ordered for the 3rd radio set in 2 weeks. This Philips radio is also defective, no sound at all. I AM TOTALLY DEJECTED, FRUSTRATED, VERY UPSET WITH AMAZON FOR THIS TYPE OF DEALING & SENDING FAULTY RADIO SETS FOR 3 TIMES CONSECUTIVELY. Pls do your homework & QUALITY CONTROL CHECK properly before sending electronic products. PLS TAKE BACK YOUR FAULTY Philips RADIO & RETURN MY MONEY

This radio has great shortwave coverage from 13 meters to 90 meters, only the 11 and 120 meter bands are missing. No other large radio is available with this much coverage. The reception I found is quite good and stable. Reception is slightly better or more stable than smaller portable radios. The FM and MW is marginally better than my xhdata D808. SW reception is also excellent but is a bit difficult to tune because there are only 2 bands, having 7-9 bands on SW would have helped. This is all what is good about this radio. Now the not so good things are: Very poor finish, see how the antenna is attached bent in the pictures because of poor plastic cabinet used. Very cheap cabinet used and crude finish - I hope they don't export this with Made in India tag as it would leave a bad impression internationally. Even the cheap xhdata D219 has far better finish. Next the sound is loud but intolerable at moderately loud volumes. There is almost no bass from a 4 inch speaker and the treble is not sharp either. Makes a complete mashed up confused sound at moderate to high volumes. This is the biggest issue with this radio. I opened up the radio and replaced the speaker with a better one which improved the treble and clarity but the audio amp is delivering no bass at all so I couldn't fix that. The circuit is fully smd and I don't have the skills to mess with it. I have added some synthetic cotton inside the large and mostly empty cabinet to reduce internal reflections and clear up the midrange to some extent. It is a total misuse of a 4 inch speaker and large cabinet. Thirdly why use D cells? Simple AA could do and they could have gone for 4 AA cells. D cells are not widely available any more. I have added 2 led lamps and a switch to illuminate the tuner dial for night time use and it looks gorgeous at night - see attached picture. Also added external antenna port and headphone socket which were not provided. Still an overall good radio for the price and it is easy to use with large knobs and dial.

Nice radio of Make in India. Clear sound with high volume. Ideal for a home. Use 4.5 v eliminator to get rid of batteries but suits only FM reception without any single distortion and for MW and SW hiss sound accompanies. If we use batteries, it is the best portable radio needed for an ideal home.

Good look- retro type 2.Price generates a sense of value for money however had this product been priced around 1000 rupees it would have been better and could accommodate the demands of the actual radio users across rural and urban customers 3. Should provide a little better build quality of the body has to match up to the expectations raised by the current price 4. Should provide an electric adapter/cords facility along with the batteries 5. The radio stations of MW reminds of bygone era and such a pleasure to hear stations without the barge of unnecessary and disturbing ads like in FM stations 6. SW1 and SW2 should have more quality receptions probably due to lack of strong transmitters is not being used in it 7. Finally given the kind of amplification facilities it has the sound quality should be able to provide a good bass 8. Overall an excellent product

The radio is not getting FM. Only SW with single station it is giving out put. So i want to replace with i Bell brand. If you permit i can pay difference in cost. cost

I purchased the Philips Portable Radio RL384/94 for my father because Philips is a trusted brand, and I expected good quality. Unfortunately, the radio stopped working after just 20 days of normal use, which was extremely disappointing. What made the experience even worse was the warranty support. Getting assistance was very difficult, and the customer service response was slow and unhelpful. A product from a reputed brand should come with reliable after-sales service, but that was not my experience. I cannot recommend this product based on its poor durability and disappointing warranty support. I hope Philips improves both the product quality and its customer service.

पहली बार मुझे फिलिप्स पर इतना गुस्सा आया कि म आंख बंद करके विश्वास करता हु फिर ये क्या बनाया फिलिप्स ने ,,, फिर मुझे लगने लगा शायद ये डिफेक्टिव पीस है जो गुजरात से आया है मैने इसे रिप्लेस करवाया तब जाकर सही प्रोडक्ट मिला है जो कि बहुत ही बेहतरीन है पहले वाले म सिर्फ रात को ही चैनल पकड़ रहा था मैने सोचा जयपुर शहर में दिन म नहीं पकड़ता होगा फिर मैने रिप्लेस का ऑर्डर कर दिया की देखे दूसरा वाला भी ऐसा ही चलता है क्या लेकिन दूसरा वाला लाइट वाले एरिया म भी अच्छे से चैनल पकड़ रहा है वो भी शॉर्ट वेव mw fm के में वैसे sw के लिए लिया हूं fm तो मोबाइल पर भी सुन सकते है fm सुनने न कोई मजा नही
