Why isn't the chocolate flowing smoothly?

Make sure the fountain is level and has enough melted chocolate. Add a little oil if it is too thick, or restart the motor to release trapped air.

How do I clean the fountain?

Unplug and let it cool. Hand-wash the removable tower and spiral, and wipe the base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base or use a dishwasher.
