For intermediate sausage makers well worth the price.
Fantastic, but if you're new to sausage making perhaps try the factory rolls, but great for more authentic sausage. Came in about 4 foot lengths, made 20 pounds of sausage and still had about half a package left, though I made long sausage not links. Kind of easy to tear and burst if your not paying attention but once you get a rhythm down goes quickly. A little hard to thread onto the sausage funnel so I would turn on the machine for a moment to get a small amount of sausage expelled and that would act as lubricant to easily stack the casing onto the funnel portion. Would buy again its a decent price for good quality casing and fairly strong. Comes out about an inch and a half thick to 2 inches. Looks good once all said and done.

Amazing - Highly Recommend! Read specifics on how to clean and use - below
This was my first time ever making sausages, and also first time using this product. I am so happy with how the sausages turned out - the casings are absolutely excellent! I perused a lot of the Q&As here and thought I'd capture my experience below, in case it might help others to have most questions answered in one place. To clean and prepare the casings for use, I actually followed the steps provided by the manufacturer on their website, see below: 1. Rinse salt from casings with fresh water. 2. Put casings into lukewarm water for 24 hours. Here, I added a spoonful of white vinegar as I was told this helped. 3. Massage casings and separate strands to prevent dry spots. The next day, I rinsed the casings again, with cold water. Then, using one casing at a time, I opened one end, and ran cold water through it (over the sink), then I placed the casing over the stuffing 'gun' (I used a manual one). I tied a small knot at the end, and started stuffing the casing. Since this was my first time, my sausages did not come out exactly the same size, but in average they were abt 8 - 9 inches long, and abt 1 - 1.25 inches thick. From one casing, I made 2 sausages. Of course, this will vary on your preference. Some people use an entire casing for just one - very long sausage. I was thinking of how to freeze them later, and chose a size that would fit into my freezer bags. My package contained 14 casings, ranging in length from 32 inches to 54 inches. As I mentioned above, I made two sausages out of one casing. When finished stuffing each sausage, I tied another knot at the second end of the casing. When done, I poked each sausage with a needle (you can also use a toothpick) to let the air out - about 10 times per sausage. This will prevent the sausages from "exploding" on you when frying or grilling them. I was amazed (and, relieved!) at how easy it was to use these casings! The plastic 'ring' that holds them helps a lot, in keeping them untangled. They might seem tangled up, but since I soaked mine in lukewarm water for 24 hrs, they were very easy to separate the next day, prior to using them. Oh, and I should also mention, upon opening the package, there was a very slight smell (as expected - this tells you these are fresh casings, as they should be!). However, after rinsing and soaking them, there was absolutely no smell the next day. Not sure if the vinegar helped or not, this is just something that my family back in Romania advised I'd add to the soaking water. Regardless, there was no odor when I started stuffing! I highly, highly recommend this product - and I know I will become a loyal customer of this manufacturer!

A tangled clump of casings
First time making sausage today so I don't have any experience with other brands. I bought these based on the Amazon recommendation. Going to give these a 3 for now and see how they go once I start stuffing. The package was sealed and not compromised. Smell was strong but not overwhelming. However the casings were just a tangled pile. I read somewhere about a ring being used in order to separate them easier. That's laughable as I didn't find the ring until I untangled the mess they were in. I had to pull everything apart so I could start pulling out individual casings. Didn't want to pull too hard for fear of tearing them. I took 4 out for now and soaked and rinsed them They seemed strong as I had my fingers in them to hold them open to allow water to run through them. Will be stuffing later today so I"ll reserve final judgement until then. Stuffed 5 pounds of sausage later that morning and they turned out very nice. For a first time making links the casings held up. Was a little tricky at first getting them on the stuffing horn but once I figured out to untwist them as I went along they went on just fine. So I have to say these casings are fine. Had no blowouts and we were making them pretty full. Only had one that had a small hole in it but once they were chilled it was fine. Still not happy about them being so tangled in the pack. They had a nice little snap to them and didn't seem as noticeable as casings on store bought products. So changing my rating from a 3 to a 4. Once I'm finished with this pack I will definitely buy another and just know what to expect going forward.

Impressed with them so far.
So far so good. I normally rinse and then soak for 24 hours, but after 6 hours they looked ready. I only had about 10lbs of sausage to case. They didn't have a single hole in them, and I had ZERO blowouts. Easy to stuff, easy to twist, and easy to tie shut. I also appreciate the ring they were hung on. It makes everything so much easier. My local butcher closed so I was tried a "popular" brand of casings and had horrible luck on 3 different batches. The last package I bought only managed 15lbs of the claimed 25lbs. On average I do 25lb-30lb batches and this single package looks like it would handle that with no problem.

Tangled but a good product
I really don't have any frame of reference for this post because it was my first time to make my own sausage, so here it is. I soaked the casings longer that the 30 minutes it called for because I had read that can help make the casings more "bite through". The bad news is that they were a tangled mess. After I managed to free what I needed, I just threw the rest away. Add to that, I had several blow outs so most of it was wasted. Also, they smelled like death but that may be what all casings smell like while they're soaking. The good news is the final product was excellent! The sausages that I grilled were easily chewed and really as close to perfect as a newbie could ask for. The ones that I smoked....not so much, but again, I think that was me. After the chewy results, I read more online posts on the subject and learned that under stuffed sausages can be tuff and that adding water the smoke can help as well. The only real complaint that I have was the tangle. I was very difficult to get out the individual lengths of casing.

Highly recommend
We butchered 2 hogs and used these for sausages, they work wonderful. With 2 hogs we had enough to do about half our sausage in these casings with 1 bag. There is no taste, you can't even tell they are in casings when you eat them. Highly recommend!

Good casings!
These have been a repeat order. They are very clean casings, easy to separate because they arenโt so long to get tangled. Out of 3 packages of casings that I have bought, there was only one hole in one of the casings in one of the packages. This is very good! They keep for a long time also.

Well sealed and great casings
This is the third time I purchased this product. Exceptional quality for great sausages every time. Comes well packaged and sealed. I had tried another brand sold on Amazon, which shall remain nameless, I received a leaky package, tried to contact seller and he never replied, but Amazon was grateful to refund me anyways. If your looking for quality hog casings, look no further, this is the product your need.

Sausage casing
The casings are good, I never broke one. The only thing I wish that could be improved is the length, it was very inconsistent on the length. Made it challenging to have coils that were close in weight with out cutting them to the same length. Other than that they are good.

Great product. Very worth it.
Great product. Worth the price. Easy to use. Easy to take a few casings out at a time and then rinse and soak them. A bit of a smell, but really not that bad. I added a few lemon slices and soaked them for about an hour before rinsing them and then running water through them. The casings were easy to fill. I got very long casings, so very happy about that. Once the sausage was done and cooked they gave a nice snap. Very happy with the product. Could easily do 30 lbs, maybe more, with this bag. I made 10 lbs, used four casing lengths and came to exactly right amount. And I was generous in filling the casings.
