Gets very close and leaves you smooth. The attachments don’t really work for me so I use it without them. Be mindful that it is extremely sharp when it’s new so be careful when trimming. Go slow and patient and you won’t cut yourself. The batteries last forever. Yes it is sorta loud. Sounds like the razors men use to shave their heads. Buzzzzzz. The one thing I absolutely hate about this razor is that in order to turn it on you twist in the same direction to open it. So if you twist too far it was will open exposing the batteries. It’s kinda dumb, like why not put a button on it. I got use to it over time but at first it was annoying turning it on and then accidentally opening it.
