So look, I love a good slim jim. They were a staple of road trips, one of the snacks I always got in high school when we would all walk to hang out at the gas station like that was a cool thing to do. But to be honest, as an adult there was something about them that I couldn't stomach. I'm not even someone who gripes about processed food, or unhealthy ingredients, but I couldn't do it any more. ENTER THESE. Holy cow. The flavor blows slim jims out the water. Especially this flavor (although I love them all) - the jalapeno flavor is perfect. Truthfully, it's barely spicy if that's what you are in to, but I don't need it to be spicy, and they are great for a kids snack because they aren't too spicy either. They are high in protein and definitely have better ingredients which is great. I usually have one before or after a good workout, get that protein in!! They are a little pricey, but they are a nice treat and a healthier snack, so I make the sacrifice. They also seem to be cheaper on Amazon which is good, because I will blow my budget if I keep buying these in singles at Trader Joes because I have no self control in the checkout line!

I like these more than the original flavor. Not too spicy. I've had other brands of jalapeño flavored beef sticks that get too spicy. Chomps does a great job of balancing it. I tend to eat one of these when I'm in a snacking mood to avoid binge eating other unhealthier foods (chips, sweets).

We were getting these on subscribe and save, the jalapeno beef and Italian. We did not like the Italian but reordered the jalapeno beef. It was tasty and was akin to eating a oh boy berto pepperoni stick. If you are familiar with those, the jalapeno sticks were the same kind of consistency and not overly dry. But the second order we got the sticks were really dry, almost like jerky but in pepperoni stick form. For this price I'm not sure I will reorder. My husband also thought there was something wrong with them because they were so dry. I didn't say anything to him to see if he noticed. He sure did!

Not sure who to blame, fedex or the seller but the box was quite squeezed up on delivery. The perforated edges were already broken. The boxes are a bit flimsy for holding that many sticks so some what expected. I had to count the sticks to make sure all 24 were accounted for.

I love these. As a person with t2d, these are few of the snacks I can have. I have been a subscriber for quite a while, and it's expensive, but if calculated, it's much less and much healthier than many other options
