If only my dear husband was still alive- he would have a Blast with this nice toy. He always told me that when he was little he HAD to receive some kind of a toy gun for Christmas -even those little cap guns. I don't know how his Mom ever pulled that off as the father abandoned the family when the 5 kids were little and that was before fathers paid child support and she only had a sewing factory job. But he was a real gun enthusiastic his entire life so I know he would love this toy. This is the first time I have ever seen a toy Shotgun and it really is so very cool. The little shotgun shells look real and the pump action is strong. Setting up some nice light weight targets is going to make this a real blast. I know guns are getting a bad rap but for families who teach their children the difference between toys and real guns and to respect the differences is a real blessing. My only negative comment is that this one came as a pink color and this is for a family of boys so my granddaughter loves pink and I can see her taking it away from the boys as she wants me to paint her hunting gun pink in our upcoming project. So, I do not know if you can pick a color or if you only get what ever they have available.

I got this for my kids and they're gonna love it, the only issue I had was when I attempted to slowly rack a shell into the barrel.. you just have to be firm with it like I showed in the video. I definitely foresee us losing all the ammunition especially the little shotgun pellets, but it comes with plenty of ammunition and should provide plenty of fun.

This is actually super fun blaster, but it does have some little quirks. The blaster itself feels a little homemade in some parts, kind of like a PVC blaster, but I kind of like it because it's unique. It comes with a really cool shell ejecting system, which isn't very common except for higher priced blasters, so that is really cool. It ejects the shells well, and the whole action, including loading is incredibly realistic. It's super fun to play with, and has some good range on the darts, and even the red dot is pretty accurate. All in all, you if you can understand the quality that you are getting for the price, you will still enjoy it. The darts themselves are unique, don't expect to be able to put regular length Elite darts in there. It comes with some spreader shells, which use incredibly tiny darts. Like 1/2" long, but it fires three of those at a time, and they're surprisingly accurate. The single shot shells use a longer dart, but it is still like 20% smaller than a regular Nerf dart for record. That dart is around 2.25" long, standard darts are around 2.8". So if you ever damage them, you will have to make new ones out of existing darts you have. Technical stuff: A general Nerf Elite blaster fires around 70 FPS, I chronographed the darts it came with at around 62 FPS. So a little less, but again, you still get that really cool shell ejection action. You can ramrod half darts in there as well and you get a little more of a boost up to around 70 FPS, So what you would normally expect. Keep in mind though that even with the darts that it came with, I was getting a lot of whirly birds, but I kind of just attributed it to a shotgun style mini spread, ha ha! Even with the half darts, the only ones that I could get a more consistent straight shot on were the Half dart Accu-Fakes, the Adventure Force Pro half darts were the second best, but even they were well below the consistency that I was getting out of the Accu-Fakes. There weren't many screws on the outside, and part of it was held in place by friction pins, so I didn't really want to try and take this one apart to look at the internals, as I'm OK with how it's functioning now. The air seal on it is not great at all, so there is an opportunity there for improvement if you want want to try and figure that out, but I didn't want to mess with anything for risk of losing the ejection feature. All in all, if you know what you're getting and you're OK with it, it's still a super fun blaster because of how unique it is, and at a great price for that. In general, I would like more consistency in the darts so they didn't twirl around through the air as much, but would still recommend!
