I wanted to future-proof myself and upgrade from a 2070 Super but didn't want to spend a small fortune and this was the card that met my criteria. It almost defies logic that Nvidia is still launching new cards in 2024 with only 8 GB of VRAM so I went with the 4070 Super for the extra 4. This card also supports DLSS and frame gen and let me tell you it makes an enormous difference on some games. I can get well over 200+ FPS in many modern shooters at 1440p even with all the bells and whistles on, and with Ray tracing on I can still get 100+ FPS. Exactly what I wanted. This card runs a little hotter than my 2070 Super did so I tweaked the fans with the Asus GPU Tweak software to permanently run at 30% minimum. It's inaudible to me and keeps my temps from fluctuating and ramping up and down all the time. The default setting seems to be to not even run the fans until it reaches 60c+ which I didn't really like but that was easily corrected. With my tweaks I mostly hover around 60-63c at load with hot spot temps sitting around 70c, fantastic for a dual fan setup. Now let's be honest about one thing: you are definitely paying the Nvidia tax with the price of this card. It is wild that a mid-tier GPU like this one costs over $800 CDN and it's unfortunate that's where we're at. Can you get a cheaper AMD card that performs just as well? Absolutely. Will it be stable? That's the real question. I was on the ATI/AMD bandwagon for years and years because they were always cheaper and got you 90% of the performance that Nvidia did but the constant frigging with drivers broke me down and I never went back. Are the drivers better now? Almost certainly. Did I want to try that out and deal with the potential hassle? Nope. I have had zero stability issues with this card or the Nvidia drivers the entire time I've owned it and that mirrored my experience with the 2070 Super. This is a premium card and they make us pay a premium price for it. If you're looking for a more reasonable priced card a 4060 (or a 3060ti or maybe even one of those Intel battle mage cards) are probably a better bet around $400 CDN. But the performance you get out of this card is way ahead of either of those and well under the $1100 CDN you'll be forking over for an 80 series+ card. If you're willing and able to pay extra this is a fantastic non-TI 4070 Super and one of the lowest-priced versions I've seen.

good video card. Asus always has produced excellent above expectations products. This one is more of the same. It is small form factor so it fits easily in case. It does not require a crazy amount of pins connectors so you can use it with older power supplies and it is quiet. I basically never hear it. Maybe its broken but i doubt it. I have played many games on ultra settings and never once have i heard a whining sound from the fans. Speaking of which. You can play most current games on Ultra no problem but i would not say that this would be good with a 4k monitor. I think the frame rate would not be good enough. Good top star purchase that should last me a good cycle which is usually 4-5 years. P.s For AI rendering, it is good but you will never have enough ram on the card no matter what so do not buy this if you are expecting good results in AI rendering, it would be wise to spend more on a card that as more ram and also juice power, likely the 5000 series and higher up if you read this years from now.

As with most other high-end graphics cards, this one whines like a sad dog. Games run great, though.
