The BEST bathroom cleaning hack EVER!!!
Have you ever used RainX products on your carโs glass surfaces? Well, this stuff is basically that, but for your bathroomโs glass (and other) surfaces. (And if you havenโt tried RainX on your carโฆ I highly recommend you do. I live in WA. We tend to get a LOT of rain. RainX is awesome stuff!) I hate having to squeegee my shower. Itโs also usually the last thing on my mind. Iโm either running late and donโt have time to squeegeeโฆ or Iโve taken a long time unwinding and relaxing in a hot shower. When I get outโฆ I want to wrap up in a soft robe, climb into bed, and sip some hot tea. I donโt want to squeegee the shower stall. But an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! And when I donโt squeegeeโฆ a few months down the line and Iโm scrubbing, trying to get rid of hard water stains. Iโve also found that even when I do squeegee regularly, I am still battling hard water stains. Meanwhile, the shower looks awful. Weโve been in this house for 7 years now. There are a lot of random niches for hard water stains to get missed over time. So, I started researching ways to be lazy and still have a clean bathroom. Thatโs when I stumbled on RainX for shower doors. Now, I wonโt sugar coat itโฆ it took me a while to apply the product per their directions, wait for it to dry, reapply it, let it dry again, and then buff it off the surface. (Iโve found if you apply it kind of liberally the first timeโฆ and give it sufficient time to dryโฆ you wonโt need to reapply it a second time - Iโm lazy, yโall! I look for shortcuts!) I went all out! I put it every surface I could! The product does have a strong odor. I didnโt find it too overwhelming or too caustic. However, if youโre sensitive to odors or chemical smellsโฆ plan on using a mask. I kept the bathroom fans on and I was fine. Itโs not difficult to remove, but it will take several passes. You just keep buffing in small circlesโฆ one area at a timeโฆ and then move on. Itโs just like turtle waxing a car. Or The Karate Kidโฆ wax onโฆ wax off! And you can do more than just glassโฆ I use it on my shower doors (inside and out) my shower surround, the bath tub, the sinks, the faucets (all the chrome), and especially the mirror. When youโre finished, you wonโt have to squeegeeโฆ water just beads off surfaces. The tub is slow to develop a ring around itโฆ and when it doesโฆ it very easily wipes off. The bathroom mirror will still fog up, but itโs MUCH quicker to clear upโฆ and toothpaste splatter droplets just flake off when you barely touch them with a paper towel or microfiber cloth As evidenced in my video, if you end up with fingerprints or something else on your glass surfacesโฆ just use a dry paper towel or microfiber cloth and polish whatever it is right off the surface! Using it on my shower surround and trim has prevented the accumulation of hard water stains. (See pic.) The best part? It lasts for 4-6 months with regular usage (two persons, occasional guests, and monthly doggo spa days). When I start to notice a decrease in how the water is beading upโฆ I just reapply to that one area. Overall, the amount of time I spend applying the RainX is WAY LESS vs squeegeeing and having to do regular scrubbing to remove hard water stains, windexing the mirror, polishing chrome, etc. It makes my bathroom almost self-cleaning, which I absolutely LOVE! I do still break out my dish soap and vinegar filled dish soap scrubber and run it on the shower and tub floors, and in a few other areas. And to date, I havenโt discovered a self-cleaning toilet, so I still have to clean thatโฆ BUTโฆ I wonโt go back to the old method of scrubbing and squeegeeing! RainX is an all around great performing product!

Is it worth the money, time, and effort? Not for me.
Pro. It does cause less water to cling to the glass. Con. Itโs not the miracle they claim. Water does still cling. Just less of it. Application. All Con. I watched and read 25 instructionals. All glossed over the application process leaving out any insights about how much of the product to use, how long it should take, or that it is a horrible stinky caustic product. What it actually should look like when dry. How much is too little or too much. Nobody knows! So you just make your best guess and observation and move ahead. The buffing process is straight forward except it left, for me, a hazy film that no buffing or change of buffing cloth could remove. By accident I figured out how to remove that film. Take a hot shower and wipe the shower down vigorously afterwards! This process is not mentioned anywhere else in the known universe. So. Youโre welcome. Bottom line. Is it worth the effort? It took a good hour to apply and remove, not counting drying time and the after first shower process. It does make the after shower clean up faster by about half, until it wears off, which it does in 4-6 weeks. Since I could only buy this as a 2 bottle pair, I still have another bottle and will continue to use it until itโs used up. I wonโt buy it again. I might try another companies product, but again, will it be worth my money, time, and effort to save 30 seconds after a shower? Probably not.

Repels Water Perfectly!
Recently moved into a new home with glass shower doors that were in great need of hard water mineral deposit and soap scum removal. Wow! This product is impressive. I first used the Rain-X Shower Door Extreme Clean, and was followed with the Rain-X Shower Door Water Repellant. The doors are crystal clear once again. This product works so well that the water just beads right off! I also squeegee after a shower to ensure clear glass doors. This product is very easy to use too. I used a clean cloth to apply the repellant, and worked in smaller sections while applying pressure and moving the towel in a circular motion, as directed. I then waited about five minutes for a light haze to appear, and applied a second coat, as directed. Once the haze appeared again, I buffed with another clean cloth. Beautiful! Although the product scent and fumes is not overly strong, definitely use with an open window or fan running. Overall, this product works extremely well. I am very satisfied with the results, and how easy it was to achieve beautiful results.

Not what I was expecting
Leaves a greasy residue that looks foggy. Maybe as the grease washes off it will get better. I do notice beading though.

Micro- Fiber Towels are a must
Not just for new showers and mirrors, Rain-X Repellent creates a boundary between your glass shower doors and water. I highly recommend using in a well ventilated space and using a microfiber towel for best results

Shower doors
4 months ago I used this on my shower doors. Still water beads up on them. It's a bit of work to get it applied, but after that it's a breeze to keep the glass looking great

Did nothing
I had high hopes for this stuff, especially after seeing some of the reviews. But did nothing to my shower glass. I meticulously followed the directions. Did 2 coats, and zero affect to the glass. However for some reason it make the glass fog up a lot more than usual. And no matter how many times I ran a clean dry towel over it before using the shower, the slight haze would not go away. Was hard to remove the residue. Really wished it worked because I am tired of squeegeeing my glass after every shower and the water where I live is very hard. It also has a very strong odor when using it. Use a mask when applying. The attached picture is the glass after the first shower after it was applied.
