Our son is in the Army and currently stationed in FL. We visit from IN a few times a year to spend time with the grandkids. At some point during the visit, I always end up at their home alone while grandma and them go to a movie or shopping. I love doing pranks that last long after I've left. So this past Christmas I found these and purchased them. Sure enough, the day before we left I got left home alone. Not wanting to make them easy to find and annoy them as long as possible, I had to get a little creative since these are quite loud. I pulled out a drawer on either side of the kitchen and taped them to the backside. I also made sure to tape them so the speaker side was against the drawer which muffled it just enough to be heard well but not loud enough to pinpoint the exact location. Being that they go off in random intervals and one on either side of the kitchen it sounds as if it is a real cricket moving around. Fast forward to late March and our other son went down to visit his brother. He had know about my prank from the beginning. To my surprise they were still chirping and had not been found. He told his brother I was responsible but played dumb on knowing the location. The phone call I got was hilarious. Telling me how they've emptied cabinets, spent time making sure every outside nook and cranny were sealed, all to no avail. I still refused to give up the locations. They came up to visit for a week in July and sometime during their trip here the other finally died and I got a phone call from his wife once they got home happy that it was now silent in the house. Great for bothering people

A cricket was heard in a private HR office for a week before found & passed on. The next office took 2 weeks to find the "cricket" before hiding it as a random beep. Maintenance (me) was called to identify the unexplained beep, who "fixed" it & returned it as a "cricket" to the office I originally put it in, with a second one & hidden better... 3 weeks, a thoroughly cleaned office & a ladder later, they were found and one was snuck into our Lawyers office. Last I heard, our Lawyer still has an office mate!

Things work great, so I’m told. Hid several around the shop and office. People still can’t find them a year later. The sound doesn’t affect me due to my hearing loss, and I can’t remember where I hid them due to my c.r.s. But I’m always watching people look for them. LOL
