Looks great and sounds better!
Very pleased once I got it setup. Initially the setup process is bit confusing because as soon as it connects to WiFi it goes unresponsive as it updates its firmware. But since that initial update it has operated flawlessly. I have it connected to my TV via the HMDI Arc port on each device and it operates perfectly. The receiver automatically turns on/off with the TV. If I turn off the receiver (purposely), the TV’s built-in speakers provide sound. I absolutely love that it can display the receiver’s set-up menu on the TV screen for smoother/easier adjustments. It’s on the more shallow side for receivers so it ACTUALLY FITS on top on my media console, and looks great too. I have this receiver running 4 large (RC65i) in-wall Polk Audio speakers, one large Polk Audio center channel speaker (ES35), and sending signal to a powered 10” Polk Audio subwoofer. The setup is very impressive to everyone except your most experienced audiophile; but even then they’ll admit this setup packs a quality punch for under $2.2k total.

Quality at and affordable price!
Took me awhile to figure out the set up, but after trial and error I figured out that making all tweaks should be done on your tv screen instead of trying to do it on the receiver display other than that very nice sound for the price putting it through Athena towers and subwoofer sounds amazing.

Remote not backlit, impossible to navigate in the dark
This receiver works well but a major design flaw is that the remote is not backlit. That means that in a darkened room while attempting to watch or navigate content you have to keep switching on the light, or use your phone flashlight to see the buttons on the remote. This interrupts the performance of any show. Hate to leave a negative review, this is such a small thing, but it is hugely impactful. We've had to put a dot of superglue on the 'Up' volume button to make the surface profile more tactile so we can 'find' it in the dark without having to stop the show. And, note, the auto shut-off default setting is 20 mins, you must navigate to that setting and change it or the unit will shut down every 20 mins. We couldn't figure out why the unit was clicking off. Google to the rescue - we eventually found a user who advised about the setting involved and how to change it. The unit itself is works well, note its user face does 'glow' brightly in the dark when on, can be distracting if right in front or to the side of your screen. For some, the lack of a backlit remote could be an annoyance. Would we have bought it had we known? Probably not, but too late to return now so we're stuck with it. Hence the superglue blob on the volume button.

Great AVR At An Affordable Price
This JBL MA510 is able to drive my Polk ES60's with no issues. I love the the look and the sound quality is great. The only issue I had was connecting it to my wireless network. I had to use my Mac laptop to login to interface and configure the network portion of it. I would like them to add more features in the way of supported streaming apps. Otherwise, it's a quality device.

Almost a 5 star product
Sounds nice, looks nice and it is easy to use but it does not mix down multi-channel DTS-HD Master Audio to a 2.1 setup. Dolby TrueHD mixes down fine but most Blu rays are in the DTS-HD format. Needs a firmware update but from looking on the website, the last one was about a year ago. JBL support stated that only the MA710 supports DTS-HD but that's ridiculous as any multi-channel receiver should support Blu ray audio just fine. I could understand this model not supporting Dolby Atmos but older formats should be supported. So if you have a full surround setup, you're probably good but if you have a 2.1 setup, not so much.

Great AVR
This a very simple AVR with premium amplifiers from a company that knows audio. Great sound with a 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup being the maximum capacity. Can also handle a 7.2.2 setup if you prefer rear surrounds with Atmos up front. The EZ SET EQ is free and works well on iPhone to eq the system. Android phones require an external mic. I think it only equalizes up to 500 Hrz. DIRAC software is also available for additional cost to bring sound to the highest level possible. You will have to set your speaker distances up manually without DIRAC. With a disto and a sound meter that can do C Weighting this won’t fail to impress. Sound is clear and clean. Recommended.

Pain to calibrate but great clarity edit to 3 stars
I will start with very aesthetically pleasing. Very neat looking and a little ambient light underneath just adds to it. Definitely a lot different to set up and calibrate than any other receiver I have owned. To get it on WiFi I had to download app and get it set up through the app. Once connected I did firmware update which was lengthy. Not sure if any firmware update will take this long or just initial. After that I used a separate app to do the ez eq calibration. This involves moving around your listening area for a minute per speaker set. After that I measured and set the distance of my speakers. I had a DB measuring microphone that I used to set each speaker to the appropriate level. I also set cross over ( most people say never set below 80) In saying all of that I believe you can purchase Dirac live for an additional 260 from their site. I didn’t look into it because of price how that all works. Definitely more of a pain than typical receiver but shouldn’t have to be done often. After that I spun up some movies and I really like the level of clarity coming out of this thing. So far everything sounds clear and great. Overall I am really enjoying it and it just seems like no other receiver out there Edit: I had to return. I was having all sorts of issues with Dolby Vision I then connected my stuff directly to TV and no more Dolby vision issues but then sound drop outs with earc I really was hoping it wasn’t the receiver so I bought expensive HDMI cables just in case but same issues. Returned and bought another receiver and now no issues

Well sorted out and options 5.1 receiver. Worked flawlessly out of the box, more power than my previous Pioneer it replaced, sounds more "full" for sure.
