Allows the elderberry to steep without the need for extra straining. I bought these by mistake, thinking they were larger, but they still serve the purpose. Not too thick but very sturdy. Not linty. Very easy to fill with the desired product. Bags do not affect the flavor of the product, and clean-up is very easy. My personal opinion is that they can be reused, as I have reused before and the taste or quality of the product was not affected.
