No, you have to use mini with the mini. The bigger launcher does use standard tennis balls

Does this work with orange rubber dog balls instead Of tennis balls?

No. I have tried rubber and they don't work so well. Really made for tennis balls. Overall its a great product. My dog luvs this.

We have a fenced in backyard in the mountains of NC & this gun will shoot the ball out of the entire fence if not careful. We have a Boston terrier who knows when it arrives by smelling it thru the bag before opening. Just have LEGITIMATE EXPECTATIONS and just focus on your DOGS & you will have a great time. NASA aerospace engineers may not like this 🤷🏻

How far does the mini ball launcher launch its tennis balls?

It depends on how far back you pull the handle which stretches a heavy duty rubber band. I usually get 30-40 ft per launch. My German Shepherd loves it!
