Great Launcher - Would Buy Again!
We use this ball launcher 3 or 4 times a week for about 20 shots each time with our dog. We purchased it two months ago and we are very happy. Can a 20 year old person throw a ball further? Yes, but we are in our 60's. Plus, you can use the end of the ball gun to "pick up" the tennis ball for the next launch without having to bend over. So it is already loaded in the gun. This does not sound like much, but if you are shooting the ball 20 times, then it is a nice feature that you don't have to bend over each time. It also allows us to get the ball without competing with our dog! March 2026 Update: We originally purchased the gun Aug 2022. The rubber band that propels the ball finally broke. That has been the only issue we have had. Unfortunately it does not appear that we can order a replacement rubber band, but it appears I can substitute 1/4 inch tubing to replace the rubber band, which I will try. This has been a great gun. I will purchase it again it my "fix" does not work out. We cock the gun to about the 3rd click and it shoots about 20-25 feet when we hold the level with the ground. It would shoot further it we cocked it further. Some reviewers mentioned the large rubber band weakened over time, but we have not experienced that. If we do, we'll cock it to the 4th click! The other thing some reviewers mentioned was part of the trigger mechanism broke after a short period of time. We have not experienced that either, but we are gentle with the things we purchase. I am not saying you have to handle the gun with white gloves, but if you are mistreating an object it is going to break. We have noticed a difference in how far fresh tennis balls will go versus those that are VERY dead; but again, this is expected. I am happy with how far it shoots most of the tennis balls we have. The other great thing is this gun takes the standard size tennis balls. If this gun breaks in the future, I will DEFINITELY purchase another one! Very happy with it.

Variable power for in or outdoors!
Great, seems 30-35 yards, to the edge of the back yard from the deck with a new tennis ball. Significantly less with a punctured ball, and hard rubber balls vary. Allows you to pick up a tennis ball by pushing down onto it if it's soaking with dog slobber, just pull the cocking handle back at least one click first. Variable distance by how many clicks you pull the handle back, numbered 1-9 on the top of the cocking handle's bar. 1or 2 clicks in the house and up to 9 for outside. Edit, lasted 2 months of hard use, the handle/ launching rod broke in half inside, but I can still fire it lesser distances for the time being. Well worth the cost for all the slobber free hands outside, and rebounding tennis balls around corners and down the stairs for the dog to chase inside. Buy extra tennis balls when you order it! I'm ordering another launcher now, and I'll be a little bit more gentle with yanking the handle on the new one, and maybe stick to tennis balls, not hard rubber ones. It's great!

Great dog toy, one flaw.
My dog loves this and it's easy to use. The only issue is the rubber band inside will break eventually. Hyper Pet you miss the mark by not selling replacement bands. I just purchased another because it's so easy to use while walking my dog in open areas.

Better than the Nerf Launcher
After going through four Nerf ball launchers, I was tired of constantly replacing them and decided to try this instead. So far, I actually like it much better. First impression: it feels higher quality. The plastic is thicker and sturdier, not thin or cheap-feeling. I also prefer the launch mechanism. It uses more of an old-school rubber band pull system with a handle, which is much easier to use than the Nerf spring mechanism. With the Nerf launchers, I often had to use two hands and a lot of force to pull it back, which got tedious fast. I also really like how much easier it is to pick up the ball. Since the launcher is longer, I barely have to bend over, and it grabs the ball much more easily than the Nerf one, where the ball has to slide way back into the mechanism. Downside: it doesn’t launch quite as far as the Nerf launcher. Also, while Nerf balls work, it seems to perform best with a standard tennis ball. That would be perfect except I have a bulldog who destroys tennis balls quickly. That said, for the price (comparable or even slightly cheaper than Nerf), this feels like a great upgrade so far. I’ve only had it a few days, so I’ll update my review if durability changes over time, but my initial impression is very positive and I’d recommend it. —— Adjusting my review after a month from 4 to 3 stars. The main reason being, it just isn’t as powerful enough. You have to use a dry tennis ball and can’t really swap for any other balls because it doesn’t have the power to launch them more than a foot. This is a problem because tennis balls get soggy (I have a bulldog) and fall apart constantly. I have a lot of chuck-it and nerf balls that this simply cannot launch properly.

Years of Fun!
I just checked Amazon to see when I bought this because it has lasted so well. 4 1/2 years! I can see that the rubber bands are starting to get hard so it may not last much longer, but I sure got my money’s worth! Already have another one in the cart for whenever I need it.

Literally hours of fun
If you have a doggo that will play fetch with a tennis ball until they drop, you will want to get either this, the NERF, or the Chuckit ball launcher, which is about 1/3 the price. The Chuckit will send the ball further than the Hyper Pet will, as it amplifies your throw, much like a hand held clay pigeon thrower, but my point here is that you are still basically throwing a ball. The Hyper Pet is a basically a plastic and rubber band version of a PIAT (Projector, Infantry, Anti Tank)....a spigot mortar. And like the PIAT, it has a bit of a limited range. Not a problem though for the average sized back yard. To me, pulling back a cocking plunger repeatedly is WAY less work than actually throwing a ball until your fur baby is worn out. Assuming your subservient quadruped isn't freaked out by the ratcheting noise of cocking the "gun" and the thump of firing it, they will love it. The Hyper Pet launcher is similar in power to the NERF launcher, but having tried both, I prefer the Hyper Pet. So much so that I have purchased 4 of them in the past 5 years. Why 4? Well, they are rubber band powered. A really thick powerful rubber band, but rubber will degrade over time. Especially if left outside in the desert heat like mine were. Another problem is the cocking handle itself. Perhaps also from the heat, but one of these handles actually broke. It wasn't me...somebody else broke it. I suspect that they didn't pull it straight back. I actually did keep this one alive for a while by splicing the 2 broken pieces together with some epoxy and aluminium strips. I also replaced the degrading rubber band at the same time with rubber tubing. However, given the amount of time and effort I put in, plus the reduced performance, I decided that it was easier just to replace the whole thing. So, bottom line- if you get tired whilst playing fetch with your furry friend before he/she does, give this one a try. I have spent a LOT of time outside chilling in a comfy chair with a tasty beverage, and surfing the interwebs while my bork-bork happily chases and brings back a ball like it was her job.

Purtroppo l'elastico si è spezzato subito
Dopo un solo utilizzo si è verificato quello che si vede in tante recensioni. Si è spezzato l'elastico. Potenzialmente molto bello ma devono migliorare l'elastico.

Awesome! Amazing!
Video was just a test, but this is awesome! I love this product, and I can say with certainty, my dog does too. My shoulder needs surgery (again) so throwing balls for my dog is close to impossible. With this toy, I just load it and shoot, no need to throw. Awesome, great, perfect. Sorry but I'm out of words ♥️

A great toy that my dog LOVES!
Got this to replace another tennis gun that our friends kids broke the last time they visited (little sugars that they are). My dog Ava absolutely loves this toy. As soon as she hears me cocking the gun - she immediately knows what it is and comes running. As she is getting older I'm trying to avoid the traditional ball throwers that make the ball bounce really high - and that she will throw herself at - jumping up high and landing on her hind legs. I never review toys like this immediate as sometimes they self destroy after a few months but I got this in December and it is still going strong.

Not bad
Bought to shoot the tennis ball a long way and shoots about 10m, more for novelty than anything
